I have had acne red marks, not scars, that just won't go away. I've had them for about 2 years now and have tried products such as Differin & Atralin with no avail.
Is there any other solution?

Now I have hyperpigmentation scars on my arms, shoulders, and chest as well as acne, and am working with a dermatologist to limit the visibility of the scars and control the acne. From this I have learned that I scar very, very easily.
Recently, I had started pulling the hairs from my shins, another part of the disorder. I sometimes still do this but no where near what it was a few months back. Naturally, scars formed after picking/squeezing out the hairs.
If you are talking about just like dark spots from post acne those can take up to a year to go away, they just fade away. But the deep ones are permanent unless you see a dermatologist and ask what they recommend by lookijng at them. I know I would like to get it done myself but it can be sooo expensive! Look it up online under a google search and type in acne scars and there are actually different types and it will tell you what kind of treatment works for what type of scar you have.
Apply hydroquinone cream on these scars and it should go away in a few days to months.If it still persists then you can go in for laser treatment, Chemical peeling or microdermabrasion.

So it has been two weeks since I had a electrocautery on a test spot on my nose. So the scab peeled off twice and there was this red spot. Then a small crust formed over the red spot and fell. The red spot is still there. My dermatologist said to wait to see if it heals and returns to my skin color (light brown). How long will it take for the red spot to go away...
He suggested that it would not be worth doing electrocatery on the other bumps if they turn out to stay red...
Zinc
Studies suggest that people with acne have lower-than-normal levels of zinc in their bodies. This doesn't mean that taking zinc supplements will help acne.
Several double-blind, placebo-controlled studies have found zinc more effective than placebo but less effective than antibiotic therapy.
In one of these studies, 54 people were given either placebo or 135 mg of zinc as zinc sulfate daily. Zinc produced slight but measurable benefits.
m just hoping to figure out if this scarring will be permanent or if it will go away with time, or if I can do something to help them go away faster. Also, what could be causing this condition? Is there some kind of skin condition that I could have picked up by sexual or other close contact? I can't even have sex anymore with these scars. Too embarrassed to let anyone see me naked.

I have a similar condition on my chin. Redness that would never completely go away and acne bumps that would get quite large and deep filled with puss. I did see a dermatologist and am currently taking Doxycycline which has helped. I was using a Rx cream, but it got too costly and wasn't that effective over time. Oddly enough, I found a home treatment that's helped. After I shower I apply some apple cider vinegar to my chin. Once it dries, I apply 100% aloe vera gel over it.
He took a look and said that there was nothing he could do about my scars and bump and that is was natral to have scars and they were dormant. He recomended that I go to a dermatologist. I was wondering if there were creams to get rid of the bumps and scars that a dermatologist could write a prescription for.
