I just got back from the Derm today and he reviewed my skin and he said that my acne redness is scarring.. Now i thought scarring is indentions in the skin? Is it not and that acne redness will fade with time because according to my derm he said that my acne redness is scarring and that the redness wont go away and that theres nothing that can be done about it. He said that i'll have to live with it for the rest of my life and that the only possible treatment for this is laser.
If the acne scars are fairly new, then aloe vera applied during your nighttime facial regimen will help reduce the acne scarring redness of the spots over a few weeks. At age 21, this should be a good treatment. For quicker results (and little more expensive), salicylic acid peels and microdermabrasion treatments done by an aesthetician or a dermatologist will also help reducing scar tissue by removing the top layer(s) of skin - there's a noticeable difference after 2-3 treatments.
Hello. I have been on Accutane for the last 5 months. My acne is clearing and I have no new breakouts, however I have lots of red marks where the acne was (post inflamatory hyperpigmentation possibly?)? Anyway, I was just curious if blue light or red light treatment would help, and can I use the light treatment while on Accutane? If not, what else could I do to reduce the appearance of the red marks? The acne is on my chest and is very hard to look at.

hello just to let you know about my acne and acne scarring ! im over the moon i started getting micro dermabrasion and also using duac once daily cream and i havent had any breakouts and my skin is so smooth and only ever get one spot with pmt and periods im so happy because ive never had clear skin since i was like 11 !
A couple of months ago I woke up to fing a pock mark on my cheek. I never had acne or any infection in that spot. Recently, on the other cheek I have noticed to tiny holes (like big pores). Now, I'm a nervous wreck wondering what will show up next. I've read about a rare disease that causes idiopathic cheek scarring; but I feel like the cortisone cream is the most logical cause.

Daughter wants to get a chemical peel for some acne scarring on her facial cheeks. She has been on antibiotics (too harsh on stomach), antibiotic topical cream, retin-A, you name it over the years. Okay I know this topic isn't acne, but I couldn't find any other place to go too, and I'm wondering if I'm going to get a permanent scarring from my Cold Sore. I've had Cold Sore for a very young age, and before it wouldn't scar even when I first got it I was doing everything wrong. (rubbing it, itching it till it bleed, peeling it off when it was like exploding) and even through that it didn't scar it just went away without a mark.
Also, what are the risks of additional scarring? I am getting the procedure done on bumps on my nose.
Here is my story:
I plan to undergo electrocauterization on my nose soon. I have a few bumps on my nose, roughly 1 large one, 2 medium size ones, and 3 small size ones. At first, I believed this bumps were hypertrophic acne scars. I thought this because the bumps appear exactly on the same location where I had pimples.

The gal removed my makeup and cleansed my skin, then cleansed with a cleanser from the medbac line, the second cleanser tingled a lot but wasnt too awful. Then she put on the exfoliator (IDK what it was called but I know it had salicidic and lactic acid in it) It started burning SO SO badly.

hi im 15 years old and im a girl..ever since i was 14 after getting acne i would get these red marks on my face that are not bumpy..but they're splotchy..how can i get rid of them? I am a fair-skinned 57 yearold woman who has been on Retinoids since I was thirty due to adult female acne. I was on Renova for a few years, then Tazarotene, but now am on generic Retin-A 0.01% for cost reasons. My other meds are for mood, allergy, hypothyrhoid, cholesterol, and hormone-replacement therapy. My skin is lovely except for enlarged pores on my nose and flakes around my nostrils. I can pull them off one at a time with tweezers, but it's very time consuming.

I have mild, maybe slightly moderate acne. I get keloids on other parts of my body, but thankfully not my face. I still get abnormal facial scarring though.
