Avatar f tn I was admitted to the hospital and after numerous tests they diagnosed me with lobar nephronia (intermediate stage between a bad kidney infection and developing an abscess). They were surprised as this is seen more commonly in children, I'm 26. They put a PICC line in so I could give myself Rosephin for 4-6 weeks and released me from the hospital. Unfortunately, my body was leaking everyday for a week at the PICC line insertion site.
Avatar m tn People with certain illnesses such as diabetes or kidney failure and taking medications impair the body's immune system are more likely to develop boils. Heat application, usually with hot soaks or hot packs may help. As long as the boil is small and firm, opening the area and draining the boil is not helpful. Once the boil becomes soft or "forms a head", it can be ready to drain. Antibiotics are often used to eliminate the accompanying bacterial infection.

Avatar n tn I've had soreness in the shoulderblade and keep pulling a muscle as well over my right kidney area, and a localized pain in the upper right lung area, which I wonder if it's all connected. I take a medication that has given me edema in the ankles for almost 3 years straight now, and I am beginning to fear this may be cardiac asthma which is giving me bronchitis every once in a while.
1108194 tn?1378428122 The doctor we saw, scared the crap out of us by telling us that if we didn't have it treated, she could have kidney failure. We were horrified. We booked the appointment with the specialist, and then I promptly took her to see a different MD because I didn't like the attitude of the one she saw for the physical. The second doctor calmed us down and said that protein in the urine can be caused by an infection anywhere in the body.
Avatar f tn I dont seem to have any other symptoms. I do have a slightly low iron also. Mostly I am afraid of having kidney failure. The doctor does not want to do any testing until I am done with my pregnancy. In the mean time I am trying to come up with my own conclusions. Do you have any insight for me?

Avatar f tn There is minimal adjacent fat stranding and no evidence of an abscess. I have been having the pain for about 6weeks but i thought it was from diverticulitis but, my left flank area and my stomach was hurting to much. Avatar f tn You don't know the proper amount to give and you don't know if it's toxic or not. If it's toxic, it can cause kidney and/or liver failure. If you have an established vet that you've been seeing for years, they are more than willing to let you postdate a check or make payments. Give them a call and explain the situation to them.

Avatar f tn I would not fear telling your doctor about these symptoms as some of them can be related to serious problems such as congestive heart failure, kidney disease or damage or cirrhosis of the liver to not so serious such as perimenopasal or menopausal symptoms. The edema may have caused you to gain water weight. I don't know your age or lifestyle such as whether you drink alcohol and so forth but the hair loss and weight gain could be due to a hormonal imbalance or one of the problems above.

Avatar f tn I had terrible teeth pain that turned into an abscess in my mouth and my doctor wouldn't give me anything. I couldn't sleep and the pain would get unbearable throughout the day and mostly at night as it progressed. I have no idea about Vicodin but I took lor tabs at night for a few days. If the pain is unbearable and you can't sleep I can understand taking something. Tylonol alone just does not cut it for severe pain.
Avatar n tn Hi, I've got 2 more ideas that might have something to do with the odor! The first one is a ruptured abscess. That was my first thought when I read that you had 3 kitties. If they play sometimes and one of them bit him, then an infection could happen that could get into the blood stream. He might need antibiotics. The second idea, he could have a bad tooth or teeth, this would cause bad odor and loss of interest in food.
Avatar f tn Did the vet take blood to do a complete blood panel? This will tell whether or not his liver and kidney values are where they should be or whether there are problems with these two major organs. Our pets can be amazingly stoic when it comes to showing pain.

Avatar f tn Since then, I contracted a Super Virus, and now have stage 4 heart failure and have suffered a HA, stage 5 kidney failure(end stage). I am a card carrying pacemaker/defib recipient, with a Merlin(24 hour heart monitor, in house), I am a home hemodialysis patient, with my husband trained as my technician and we do dialysis 6 days a week. With all of that, and the fact that I've been told more times that I can remember, that I am terminal, I still have a life.
Avatar m tn My dog is currently taking Benazecare, and may have to take that for the rest of her life. She doesn't have CHF but early-stage kidney failure, but the drug is used for both CHF and Kidney insufficiency, as it improves blood flow to kidneys, and for Heart Failure, reduces blood pressure and work load on the heart. There are other drugs as well to treat this condition. Again, you would need to discuss this or any other possible treatments with your vet, after the results are in.

I hope for relief from crohns. I was diagnosed 9/9/99 and have been medicine free for the past four to five years. It ended in a breathtaking flare.

Avatar f tn Hello I just returned from the hospital after sepsis. A kidney stone had blocked the kidney. I'm ecstatic to be alive but am quite curious to recovery times. I still have a tube in my kidney that should be removed next week. I was in ICU about 10 days ago. I first made a lot of quick improvements after that it seems very slow. My whole body is aching and hands and feet keep getting very cold and I get lots of headaches. Also my lung capacity is about 30%. Is all this normal?
