Avatar f tn Pain in the upper left abdomen can be due to stomach issues (GERD or hiatal hernia), spleen issues, due to an abscess below the left diaphragm, a hematoma (localized collection of blood), an abscess, or a muscle pull. .
Avatar f tn On Aug. 31st my dog was diagnosed with Kidney Failure. Her creatinine was at a 8. As of almost 2 weeks ago it went down to a 2. I have been giving her 6 cc's of fluid subcutaneously. As also Aluminum Hydroxide Gel, USP 5 mL after she eats. Along with PancrePlus as she basically has chronic pancreatitis since 2011 and I can only feed her either boiled chicken & rice or science diet I/D or she starts to tremble in pain.
Avatar f tn In hospital for a month but came out of it. I was told and I have seen 10 kidney stones in right kidney and 12 in left kidney. Docs say they are calcified or as they put it (christy your kidneys are calcifying and lithotripsy won't work at this stage). I am 46 and have had these stones for 6 years. I get infections, smells, can't have xex cause of the odor, and cramps that make me feel I am still on my mensural.

The other possibility is that the ovarian cyst has got twisted. The third possibility of endometriosis can be considered if you have pain only around your periods. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do discuss this with your doctor (urologist) and get yourself examined. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn However flank pain can be caused from kidney stones, kidney infections, a kidney abscess or disease, arthritis of the spine, disc problems and as said earlier, muscle spasms. There are also other causes of flank pain...often other conditions can produce referred pain to the flank. Meaning the pain is actually being produced in one location but felt in another. I would return to your PCP and investigate possible kidney issues....
1511025 tn?1290133257 Pain and discomfort on the lower left side of abdomen just below and to the left of navel can be due to several causes such as Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, infection in kidney, kidney stones, adhesions, polycystic ovary in females, IBS, constipation, and an abscess in rectus abdominis muscle or psoas muscle. Since you do not have a lump or a tender hot spot, in all probability it is not a muscle.
Avatar f tn a 2 cm complex cyst that ruptured on my left ovary. In August of 2010 during an FNA biopsy on a 1.5 cm complex nodule on Isthmus of thyroid, the Endo ruptured it (shrinking it to 5 mm) causing a severe hematoma, where I ended up in ICU and the biopsy was indeterminate. My symptoms are lower back and pelvic pain. Feeling of cramps all the time, not just menstrual time. Occasional headaches. Fatigue. Weight loss without trying. Occasional upper left shoulder back pain (like a knife is stuck).

Avatar n tn chronic involvement of appendix (many a times ultrasound misses this as the appendix in such cases is hidden behind loops of intestine and typical symptoms of appendicitis are absent), involvement of kidney and inflammation of your intestine. Lower right abdomen pain is commonly due to appendicitis. The pain, can at times come and go and not give the classic picture.
5195620 tn?1364978700 Is it a lung abscess? An abscess is a collection of pus and a lung abscess can follow a pneumonia. If a person has lung abscess, besides cough she will have other symptoms like high temperature and will be toxic. Asthma can predispose to lung infections as a result of phlegm collections. This is usually diagnosed by spirometry. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn It could be an abscess which requires antibiotics as these types of infections can get out of hand very fast. If it is possible for you to do this you should apply warm compresses to the area, and do sits baths a few times a day. In order to do the sits bath use Epsom salt in warm tub water sit in the warm water for atleast 20 minutes a few times per day. You should see a doctor for an antibiotic. If it gets bigger it may require lancing so try to make sure it doesn't get to that point.
Avatar m tn You were right in suspecting appendicitis and kidney stones. Kidney stones can persist for years and cause symptoms only when they start moving. They can move, cause pain and again remain in a position for long periods of time. Similarly chronic appendicitis too can behave this way with bouts of pain, localization of infection and inflammation and a symptom free period.
Avatar f tn Over the last 13 months I have been admitted into the Hospital on multiple occasions, suffering from Pyelonephritis. I have had 1 abscess drained on my right kidney, which was the size of an apple and full of Ecoli. My main question is how in the world did I end up with Posterior Nutcracker Syndrome AND could my recent Kidney infections have resulted in this renal vein entrapment situation I seem to be suffering from? Thank you in advance for ANY and ALL help you have to offer.
1521268 tn?1291123879 The other possibilities are a cyst (usually grows big or small depending on the fluid in it), a neurofibroma (localized harmless swelling in a nerve), lipoma (localized collection of fat), a swollen lymph node, an abscess, or folliculitis (hair follicle infection). An abscess can be hot or warm if it is infective due to bacteria and it can be cold without heat if it is a tubercular abscess.
Avatar m tn Hello, The various possibilities which present with such pain in the lower left abdomen are Crohn’s disease, bowel obstruction, ovarian cysts and pelvic inflammatory disease, irritable bowel syndrome , kidney obstruction or pyelonephritis, psoas abscess and volvolus (twisting of the sigmoid part of the large bowel on itself). Investigations like ultrasound abdomen, CT abdomen and colonoscopy are required to confirm a diagnosis. your sister should get these investigations done.
Avatar f tn Right upper abdominal pain can be due to cholecystitis (inflammation of gall bladder), stones in gall bladder, duodenal ulcer, abscess under the diaphragm, liver problems and abscess or due to duodenal ulcer. Right flank pain is generally due to kidney stones. Gall bladder problems have been ruled out in your case. Abscess should be seriously considered. Lower right abdomen pain is commonly due to appendicitis. The pain, can at times come and go and not give the classic picture.
Avatar f tn I researched online and was 100% sure I had a kidney infection. I was tight on money so I got Cipro from a friend. On day five of the antibiotic I still felt ill. I went to the ER for same day tests. They said my urine was "contaminated" since I was already on antibiotics. They said to keep taking it and maybe slept wrong. I took it for seven days. I started feeling better and went on a hike, it was hard on my body and I was exhausted.
Avatar n tn Take a lactobacillus preparation, plenty of fluids and light diet and see. Avatar f tn Lately I started having tingling in my legs, then after reading the symptoms for MS I began to have burning sensations on the back of my legs and on my face. Is this anxiety related? We no longer have health insurance so I cannot just run to the doctor everytime I get one of these ideas.. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
