I just found out a friend has been on the medicine venlafaxine for the highest dosage and his psychiatrist put him on abilify too recently. What does this imply? He has schizophrenia? He's a psycho? Any thought would be appreciated!

my grandson is 14 yrs old. He is on Lamictil 50 mg and abilify ? mg. he has been on abilify for 1 1/2 yrs and lamictil about 2 months. He is still extremely depressed. We are worried . Should we go to another child psychiatrist. They are really not sure of dx. He did extremely well on abilify for about a yr.

I tried Abilify with my antidepressant. After a few months on Abilify, my anxiety was actually worse. I noticed that the Abilify caused me to be agitated and restless (like I couldn't get confortable or sit still, kind of jittery) Abilify is really ment more to aid in the treatment of depression than it is anxiety. It's designed to be used as an antidepressant add on drug to give a bit more antidepressant punch rather than an anti-anxiety punch. Bad idea I think.

My recent blood test came back showing my liver results were high and my psychiatrist thinks its the 30mg dose of abilify. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm going in to see my family practitioner but I'm worried about the lower dosage because my schizophrenia symptoms might return.

I've just had Abilify added to my cocktail of Lamictal and Clonazepam, hoping that it is going to lift me out of the current depression. Basic not wanting to get off the couch, go out, brush my teeth, talk on the phone, get out of my nightgown, and feelings of hopelessness. One thing you might ask your doctor if you can try is stopping the seroquel and starting abilify in its place. Abilify is approved as a monotherapy or adjunct treatment for BP I, and is also approved as an antidepressant add-on, so if depression is your problem, it might work. You could also try other mood stabilizers like depakote, which has pretty good antimanic effects, or tegretol, or lamictal if you mainly get depression. Also, have you ever tried lithium?

Sleep is interesting while being on Abilify. When I do go to sleep it's a deep sleep for two hours then I wake up. This pattern goes on throughout the night until morning. I do get my eight hours of sleep. When I started Abilify I couldn't wait for my next dose to increase. I started at 5mg then up to 10mg then I can't wait for my next appointment for the next higher dose. Could this drug be addictive?

I started taking Abilify this weekend with my Lamictal and I was a stoned out wierdo all weekend!
