Avatar f tn I have been working out for about 4 1/2 months now going to the gym at least 5 days per week doing an hour of cardio and 30 mins to a half hour of weight training. I am 24, 5 feet, and weigh 125 lbs, which i know is still considered healthy, but 7 months ago i was at 105, which i want to get back to. After a bad fall, i broke my neck and was on bedrest and ate nothing but junk and gained 20 lbs.

Ideal foods for training are bananas, which are easy to eat, good for you, and contain plenty of carbs. Avatar f tn You could try, also, adding in 30 minutes of yoga 3 day/week. You also need some strength training, which can be done with light hand weights and moves, such as squats and lunges. You could alternate yoga and the strength training and take a walk daily. There are many other forms of exercise that are also very good, such as swimming, biking, dancing, etc. You have to do what you enjoy and will be able to stick with and can include in your schedule.
Panda Try doing some of the same dances you used to do, more times/week. Or look into some yoga. Yoga is excellent for toning/firming the entire body.

Avatar m tn Early mornings are least painful, and when I woke up at 5:30 am , I decided to go to the pool. Ten minutes in the hot tub, 25 minutes backstroking, and the pool was spinning. Sat in the sauna 10 minutes. I'm back in bed for the day, and I'm hoping hard this helps keep me from screaming tonight. Last night, my husband told me how bad he felt for me and asks me if I'm going to make it through the night. I said "No!

Avatar f tn s prenatal yoga in YouTube. Its about half an hour video and she has simplified the asanas for pregnant women. I would recommend watching and doing one asana at a time so that you get the right muscles to work on. Don't forget to ask your doctor before starting and generally its a good idea to start and end the yoga with pranayam exercises like om-vilom, for warm up and cool down. Its not part of the video but you can find them too on you tube. all the best.

Granted I have gained some extra weight I was 200 and I have gained 20 pounds already I completely understand that is part of it and am making changes to help my eating habits as well as walking more.

Lol Look for a yoga prenatal video that you can do at home because those kinds of classes aren't offered everywhere, just normally larger cities. Look into hypnobabies. Hypnobabies is a 5 week course that teaches you relaxation techniques to use during pregnancy and labor to help reduce the pains.

Avatar n tn I am 15 years old and a dedicated triathlete. I've been training 6 days a week and about 2-3 hours a day depending on the day. Lately my muscles have been really tired when i started to train. It wasn't soreness exactly, but when i jumped in the pool yesterday and swam a 200 for a warm up, my muscles started to really hurt and feel very week and tired. If this has anything do with it, 5 days ago I had a 24 hour flu. But the day after i didnt feel any symptoms what-so-ever.
