Tylenol and a humidifier have been my two best friends this week and plenty of fluids!

I have a sore throat and running temperature. Took some tylenol and it helped. Gargling salt water and using nettie pot and lots of vapor rub. Does anyone have any other home remedies?

My dr said you can take any Tylenol product.

Wish I had more but I had a bad cold last week and that helped. You can also take cold medicine specifically designed for high blood pressure patients.

Check with the doctor but he will more than likely firmly recommend Claritin and warn against Benadryl. keep us posted.

sudafed, actifed, zyrtec, Tylenol cold, vitamin c, chlortrimaton, and increasing fluids... For cough: plain robitussin & cough drops... Benadryl is on the list under insomnia or itching... If you're Leary about any of these (as the list surprised me as well) I would reccomend checking with your doctor. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!!

Tylenol is safest for aches and pains. And as far as the congestion im not sure what is safe to take. Usally if you call your o bgyn and ask them what is recommended they will let you know.

Does ne one knw if its ok to take tylenol cold head congestion I am 32 weeks..

I have been sick all week and had a Dr apt today and doc said I can take psuedofed and benedryl just make sure its original. I also take zyrtec.

Thanks ladies...I went to the doctors and I'm on Tylenol and nasal spray...and hoping to feel better soon. I just wish I could get some sleep, but its hard when I'm so congested!!

Actually, I think Tylenol and ibuprofen are mentioned -- I believe ssris warn of possible bleeding and bruising from nsaids, and both of the above are nsaids. I doubt it stops any of us from using them, but drugs are always going to present possible problems, and docs and pharmacists are pretty clueless about them. There's just too many of them, and most only happen to a minority of users, sometimes a small minority.

increase your fluid intake, rest in bed; report any fever greater than 100.4F. Congestion- Benadryl, Mucinex, Tavist, Robitussin Expectorant. Cough- Robitussin, Mucinex, Delsym*my fav* Constipation- Colace, Fibercon, Metamucil, Milk of Magnesia, Surfax, increase natural fiber and fluids into your diet. Diarrhea- Kaopectate, Imodium AD, clear fluids for 24 hours; no dairy products. Headache- Acetaminophen (Tylenol or Tylenol extra strength) report any headache unrelieved by thus medication.

My OB said i can take anything tylenol brand or sudafed.

For congestion my doctor advised me it was safe to take zyrtec, Claritin,benadryl, as well Tylenol cold and Sudafed. Hopes this helps.

After 12weeks you can take plain sudafed decongestant as needed as directions say on the box. Tylenol cold and sinus can also be taken after 12 weeks. Plain regular strength tylenol can be taken at any point in pregnancy .

Mucinex, Sudafed, claritin, benedryl and zyrtec are the allergy and cold medicines my Dr has listed on the paperwork he gave me about medication that is safe to take while pregnant.

I had a massive cold around 7 weeks and dr told me to take Claritin. My cold turned to a cough and they told me I could take robitussin or robitussin dm. Cough turned to bronchitis and bronchospasms and was put on cough medicine with codine for bedtime and an inhaler every 4 to 6 hrs and robitussin dm every 4 hrs during the day. But you should definitely speak with your dr.

Im just getting over a cold and was able to take robitussin and i also tried sudafed, my dr gave me a list of meds and dimatapp tabs were on there as well

My doctor said I could take Sucrets or other lozenges, anything Tylenol brand, Zyrtec, etc.... I was surprised by the list. I ended up needing an antibiotic to kick the sinus infection (amoxicillin). Call you doctor up and talk to the nurse. She will give you the thumbs up if you are feeling nervous on anything.

I did not know Tylenol Pm was tylenol + benadryl, thanks for that information. Maybe I can kill to birds with one stone, sleep easy and no itching!! Thanks again all!!

I got sick twice recently and I had the same symptoms. Tylenol and a saline nasal spray worked to help with most of it. In general though, you should try to sleep in a reclining chair if you have one. I can't remember exactly what my doctor said about them but it was the only place I was able to sleep. Drinking even more water will also help. Relax as much as possible. While it's flu season, there are still several other illnesses going around.
