s a godsend of a medication lol. I had a double ear infection, double sinus infection, and stage 1 phumonia(sp), and Zithromax had me cleared up and feeling better withen the same night of taking it. I was also worried to take it at first, so I called almost every pharmacy in town and asked about it, and I got the same answer, which is it's safe, and I even called my doc and double checked with him lmao.
Zithromax does cross into the placenta, but not as much as other antibiotics.

I have had unprotected sex with a girlfriend and after three weeks i experienced a cloudy discharge from my penis and also a tingling sensation which I suspect as a chlamydial infection or NGU. I took 1g of zithromax and also took 5days of doxycycline 100mg. bid. After the medication my symptoms disappeared. After a few days however my testicles ached after i drank a large amount of liqour. I took another zithromax dosage and this time 1g on the first day and 500mg for another two days.

Oktober: my wife was treated with azithromycine sandoz 1g and 500 mg the next day because she had her wisdom teeth removed. i took doxycycline 100 mg a day for 5 days and also 1,5 g zithromax on day 6. My wufe and i had sex after 7 days that i took the doxy and she the azithromycine.

This could be a result of the chlamydia, but it may be worth a call to your doctor. How are you taking the zithromax? You should have taken 1000 mgs at one time for it to be effective. It doesn't sound like that's what you're doing?

I have been given 2 x 500 mg capsules for my chlamydia infection but as i don't like taking tablets
I'v opened the capsules and poured the contents into a cup of tea with 1 Teaspoon full of sugar.
To make sure i have consumed the full dose i made another cup of tea in the same cup and consumed it again.
Two weeks later my older brother has told me the heat would of rendered the anti-biotic useless and that i still would have chlamydia.
based on fact it recurred twice having taken 1g Zithromax but on 3rd attempt of 1g Zithromax it went away for 4years? I.e If it was MG in first instance it appeared to be resistant to first two doses of 1g Zithromax so it would't have gone away on the third dose.
4) Could it be herpes? I have no symptoms. Should I get a type specific HSV test? Would it give a definitive answer for herpes?
5) My regular partner was checked before for Chlym & Gono. Nothing found.

If you were not tested for gonorrhea, testing is a good idea. Given your exposures however, I would emphasize the need to have your throat tested at the time of testing.
Last weekend he was coughing violently and was put on zithromax thinking it was a sinus infection. However, how his cough, while subsided, sounds horrible. I heard a commercial for pertussis and that's how his cough sounds!
Would whooping cough make him not want to eat? He takes two bites of something and that's it. No fever, very active, some diarrhea, and this 'cough'.
Also, would the zithromax take care of it if it was whooping cough?
I was taking zithromax 500mg per day for 14 days to treat mycoplasma infection. On 11th day, I have noticed that my urine output has decreased considerably and the flow is also slow. No matter how much I drink, the output is always low. Till the 10th day my urine flow was quite strong and high output. I'm also feeling abit lightheaded. I went to my doctor and he did a blood test and urinalysis and also scheduled an ultrasound as well as prescribed amoxicillin for 10 days for a throat infection. Nothing turned up. A few weeks later I went back in still having flow issues, he prescribed cipro for 7 days, which helped for a little while and cleared up flow issues. In the middle of September I was prescribed a z pak for a sinus infection but now I was having some pain in my testicles.
i went to my doctor and told me that i may have chlamydia, so she gave me 1000mg of zithromax. I told her that i had gotten tested negative for all stds 2 weeks before. Im on my 3rd day of the treatment. I went to the urologist, and he told me that possible my testicles get a slight torsion but they unwrap each other. My questions are:
1) wouldnt the previous tests would have determined if i had any std's??
I tested positive for chlamydia 3 weeks ago and negative for everything else including HIV (test at 7 weeks). I was given Zithromax 1g, which i have previously had before for a single other STD infection a few years ago (also chlamydia). The symptoms of the chlamydia seemed to disappear completely after one week.
However at the end of the 2nd week after treatment i began to get symptoms again.
Thanks Dr for the reply. As of now my dysuria is continuing but diminishing, though my partner is also complaining of dysuria now. I had an STD test last Friday (three days after taking the zithromax) for chlam/gonn/syph/hiv and those have all come back negative. i'll keep you updated. would the zithromax produce a potential false negative in the naat urine test at 3 days later?

They gave you Zithromax for NGU?! I took 1.5g of Zithromax about two weeks after catching my NGU/NSU and I still have urethritis... Even after 12 days of Doxycycline it still hurts. The 'D-Mannose' supplement I started a day and a half ago seems to be helping, but everytime I think it's getting better, it comes right back. It's a b'as't'ard.
Maybe if I think it will get horribler and I will die soon, THEN it will magically go away.
