Avatar f tn My husband is 21 and the dentist says he needs his wisdom teeth taken out. They are not impacted but they are growing in crooked and will not grow out all the way and are causing a bacteria build up. If we wait until they all pierce through the skin can he simply get them pulled and not have oral surgery.
Avatar n tn Went to a new dentist, who seemed shocked that I had three wisdom teeth still in my mouth. Said I should get these out to avoid future problems. Is it necessary to take these out NOW? They are not causing any discomfort.
Avatar n tn I wear dentures which are around 3 years old and have a white line where the pain is where I used to grit my teeth. My dentist cant find anything wrong. Can anyone please help.
4842016 tn?1372039067 So I have some major dental problems including caveties and needing my wisdom teeth removed, I'm currently 24 weeks pregnant. does anyone knew if I can get this all fixed while I'm pregnant.
Avatar f tn Do you have any problems with swelling that creates difficulty in breathing as well? It sounds like your wisdom teeth are giving you problems based upon your dentist's evaluation. I highly recommend getting an oral surgeon to take a look and remove them if necessary. It is VERY dangerous when there is problems with swallowing and/or breathing associated with dental infections.
Avatar f tn Likely your lower wisdom teeth have erupted giving a total of 16 mandible teeth, while the upper wisdom teeth have not yet erupted. Give it more time they will likely erupt and you will have 16 on top and 16 on the bottom. If they do not appear until you are 21, There could be several reasons for this: the upper 3rd molars could be missing completely; they could be caught in such a way that they can't erupt (this is called impaction), or they could be present and just slow in erupting.
Avatar f tn I also notice that when opening and closing my mouth it seems like the alignment of my jaw is wrong, the right side appears to pop out when my mouth opens and the left does not. I never had any jaw problems before having my wisdom tooth out, my jaw had never even locked before. It is very frustrating and I just want to know what could have happened and how I might make it better?!?!
Avatar n tn I have problems with my 2 upper wisdom teeth. The one on the upper right has cracked and chipped twice over the past 7 months. The tooth has been digging into my gums and is uncomfortable to open my mouth too wide. Recently I have a frequent headaches and sore throat that also feels tight by the adam's apple. Is it common to have these side effects with chipped teeth?
Avatar m tn hi, i had my wisdom teeth removed in surgery just over a month ago and i am a little concerned. my jaw isstill not quite right, i am not able to open my mouth fully, i am limited to two fingers high. my jaw when opens is slightly ascew, also when my jaw open there is a lump under my leftear and not on the right...
Avatar n tn Other than the gum problems, I have no pain or problems with the wisdom teeth. I broke one wisdom tooth several years ago and had it pulled. Of the 3 remaining teeth two have fillings, one of which is failing and needs replacing. Does it make sense to have them removed now, when I'm not having a problem with the teeth themselves?
Avatar m tn And I won't deep deep kiss, just a little tongue mouth to mouth. No tongue fully in mine or in someone else's.
Avatar n tn the symptoms are teeth hurt, vomiting, mucsles hurt in stomach it has been going and going for a week and a half and i know my wisdom teeth should have been taken out about 5 yrs ago. and when i brush my teeth it is a reddish brown color.
Avatar n tn Ok. So you had TWO wisdom teeth removed from the lower and nothing on the upper? I don't think its possible for the wisdom teeth to "jump" to the palate. Try getting your splint adjusted on the top palate area and see if that makes a difference. I wouldn't suggest you stop wearing your splint though because it may affect your TMJ.
Avatar m tn The problem is i have to take out my wisdom teeth and the doctor told me that my TMJ symptoms might get worse because i have to open my mouth to the max and it might cause problems with my TMJ. I wanted to know how true that is and if there is any other options for me?
Avatar n tn Hi shar03! I am in no way a "certified" dental expert, however, when someone (myself included) spends countless hours on the internet trying to find the source of a "smell problem", you tend to learn a thing or two..... Anyway, it sounds to me that you MAY have what's called "impacted wisdom teeth." It's where your wisdom tooth/teeth are stuck between open and close in your gum.
Avatar f tn Wisdom teeth are so far in the back of the mouth that they are difficult to brush, floss and do dental work on. Doesn't mean it's impossible, just more difficult. Generally we don't need these teeth and they just cause problems, which is why our modern society believes in extracting them. Sometimes, I've heard, if you lose another molar, the wisdom tooth can migrate into it's spot and take its place.
Avatar dr m tn my teeth used to have small gaps and were perfectly straight. Never had orthodontics as a child. I did have my wisdom teeth removed at 18. Since my teeth have become very crowded, to the point that they are pushing one on the top and bottom out. I have also had TMJ issues, grinding of teeth and wore a night splint for many years. They re-aligned my jaws, but they have since moved back since I quit wearing the splint.
198506 tn?1251156915 When I went in (about 10 years ago) to have my abscess treated I was told that I needed to have my wisdom teeth pulled since my mouth was overly crowded and if I did not then I would continue to have problems with abscesses and pain. I did not follow through and have been abscess free with only occassional pain from time to time. However, about once a week or so when brushing I get bleeding from the back of my mouth (I don't think it's my gums).
Avatar n tn After this I was told I needed one filling but I should also get all four of my wisdom teeth out. (My regular dentist had never mentioned my wisdom teeth). I already had an appointment booked with my dentist for two fillings so went ahead with them. While there I said that I had gone for a second opinion and if I would be better to leave the cavities for maybe three months to see if they deteriorate. He told me if I even left it for 2 months I would have to get root canals on all teeth.
Avatar m tn ITS BEEN 7 DAY SINCE I HAD MY 3 WISDOM TEETH PULLED.I CAN NOT OPEN MY MOUTH MUCH AND NOW I HAVE A BROWN DISCHARGE FROM MY MOUTH.WHAT CAN IT BE?ITS STILL HURTS REALLY BACK I HAVE BEEN PUTTING A HEATING PAD ON IT.WHAT ELSE CAN I DO FOR THE PAIN?

Avatar f tn What can cause extreme pressure pain and a pulling sensation in my upper teeth with gum sensitivity to touch? Denstist thought is was maybe from my wisdom teeth. No obvious tooth problems otherwise. A few days ago I had an upper wisdom tooth removed and a lower impacted tooth removed on the same side where I am feeling the pressure. (thinking it may help) So far, I have not had any relief. A few months ago I had a root canal on tooth #3 that still has not healed and is still very tender.
4518471 tn?1355798857 So I had my wisdom teeth just over a week and I am still in pain not as much when I first got them taken out and this pass friday I called the nurse and she said to stop taking the strong pain killers "hydro" and have been really like feeling sick but did not have a cold or anything just felt bad.
Avatar f tn I'm 16 and a half and my second wisdom teeth are just about to break through, every night I'm waking up in agony with the pain from one side of my mouth. I've tried taking ibuprofen and paracetamol and also using bonjela at the same time, but I'm still in so much pain, what can I do? My exams are soon and I don't want the pain to affect them!
