Avatar f tn My husband is 21 and the dentist says he needs his wisdom teeth taken out. They are not impacted but they are growing in crooked and will not grow out all the way and are causing a bacteria build up. If we wait until they all pierce through the skin can he simply get them pulled and not have oral surgery.
Avatar n tn As for the xray, you may not have any wisdom teeth at all. Some people do not grow them, wisdom teeth are the most commonly congenitally missing tooth in the mouth. My wife for instance only had 2.
1550634 tn?1296568028 The pressure feeling may be coming from the movement of the teeth. Its normal to have some pain or discomfort from your wisdom teeth as they come out. Try some over the counter pain medication such as Tylenol or Motrin (whatever you would take for headaches that's safe for you) and see if that helps. I took my 4 wisdom teeth out with an oral surgeon and I was put asleep. Didn't remember a thing.
Avatar m tn And he said he put it back in, hoping it will stabilize or grow some root back. Or else ill have to do something called "teeth bridge" to tie that 2nd molar with another teeth. What do I do now ? Do I have to pay for that extra things ?
Avatar f tn I had a wisdom tooth grow in completely in one quadrant on my mouth. I had had a tooth out on that side and the wisdom tooth filled in the space. It's possible that your tooth may grow in, but in some cases they are impacted and have to be taken out by an oral surgeon. You really need to get to a dentist or oral surgeon ASAP.
Avatar f tn Likely your lower wisdom teeth have erupted giving a total of 16 mandible teeth, while the upper wisdom teeth have not yet erupted. Give it more time they will likely erupt and you will have 16 on top and 16 on the bottom. If they do not appear until you are 21, There could be several reasons for this: the upper 3rd molars could be missing completely; they could be caught in such a way that they can't erupt (this is called impaction), or they could be present and just slow in erupting.
Avatar n tn I dont' know if this can be true but I feel like my wisdom teeth on top is starting to grow more and it's pressing against that area. The white spot in the previous picture is where I feel my top tooth the most.
Avatar m tn t understand why other than the wisdom teeth. The wisdom teeth themselves are fully erupted and are not impacting. I was recently at the dentists about 2 months ago and got x-rays etc. I was told that because my growth plates are still open and active that the movement of my teeth is more likely due to my jaw growing than it is because of the wisdom teeth. With that said, is it possible that in the future if my jaw grows that my teeth could "space out" and uncrowd?
Avatar f tn That's weird! I didn't know that there was a "name" for it or that it was a "disease". Does that mean ALL of your baby teeth, or just some? I'm asking because I only ever lost my 2 front teeth (top & bottom) - never any others - and I lost them all when I was 7 yrs old. While I'm thinking about it, I guess you could say that I've had 5 wisdom teeth, too.
Avatar m tn ITS BEEN 7 DAY SINCE I HAD MY 3 WISDOM TEETH PULLED.I CAN NOT OPEN MY MOUTH MUCH AND NOW I HAVE A BROWN DISCHARGE FROM MY MOUTH.WHAT CAN IT BE?ITS STILL HURTS REALLY BACK I HAVE BEEN PUTTING A HEATING PAD ON IT.WHAT ELSE CAN I DO FOR THE PAIN?
Avatar n tn None of my friends who had their teeth removed had this operation, and as I mentioned before, only one of the teeth is causing me problems (my previous dentist told me there was enough room in my mouth for the teeth to grow in). The wisdom teeth are coming in straight as far as i can tell from the x-ray and the only issue is the soft tissue impaction.
Avatar m tn When there is no room, or very little room in the jaw, top or bottom, the wisdom teeth have no room to grow through and can cause a lot of pain and swelling. If you feel this could be a wisdom tooth trying to come through, you will need to see your dentist. The other possibility is swollen glands or a blocked salivary gland which may be a viral or a bacterial infection, and if this is the case you will need to see your doctor. Let me know how you get on.
Avatar f tn I'm 15 weeks and my wisdom teeth is killing me.I don't want to risk getting it taking out and I don't want to take pills. Are there any numbing creams?
198506 tn?1251156915 I have very large teeth, I still have my wisdom teeth. When I went in (about 10 years ago) to have my abscess treated I was told that I needed to have my wisdom teeth pulled since my mouth was overly crowded and if I did not then I would continue to have problems with abscesses and pain. I did not follow through and have been abscess free with only occassional pain from time to time.
Avatar m tn All seem to be reluctant to take out wisdom tooth. The tooth rests just over the back tooth and has chipped off the enamel of that tooth. My front teeth are beginning to buckle and am sure that it needs taking out. Please advise treatments for these problems and I can arrange to get it translated into Chinese.
4518471 tn?1355798857 So I had my wisdom teeth just over a week and I am still in pain not as much when I first got them taken out and this pass friday I called the nurse and she said to stop taking the strong pain killers "hydro" and have been really like feeling sick but did not have a cold or anything just felt bad.
423487 tn?1203337735 for the past month or so my very back teeth are starting to come up. only the one on the bottom right has come through the gums and it hurts. i know i have to get them pulled but, my mother-in-law says i have to wait for them to come all the way up. is that true? also i have to go get x-rays for this too right? any help will be great.
Avatar m tn Hey everyone. I got my wisdom teeth extracted on the left side of my mouth on January 19th. Two days before surgery I lost feeling on the left side of my chin and lip. The numbing has actually gotten worse, this time taking over the right side of the chin also, but not nearly as severe. Went to my oral Sergent February 9th and the bottom wisdom tooth extraction site was very inflamed and was not healing normally.
Avatar f tn Definitely see about having your wisdom teeth removed by an oral surgeon as opposed to a general dentist. Chances are with a general dentist, the most you would receive as far as sedation would be gas, although some dentists are now using what they call "sedation dentistry" where you take an oral medication about an hour before your appointment to help relax you.
