I went to see a fam md and he gave me vigamox eye drops is that med good, my eye lid is still swollen, the doctor said it was a stye. what do you know about this medicine. thanks.

My optometrist wrote me a prescription for Vigamox. I actually have an Unopened bottle but realized the expiration date on the box is 12/2009. I was hoping to save the $100 and use the unopened bottle but do not know if that is such a wise idea. Are expired eye drops safe?

I saw in a previous question that Tobramycin might be substituted for Vigamox (which is MUCH cheaper). Can you suggest a cheaper substitute for Nevanac? I had asked the nurse for more samples, but she refused saying they wouldn't have enough for the other patients. Thanks!

I have no symptoms (no pain, irritation, swelling anything) other than the dark spot that appeared. Do you have any idea what this is? I wonder if it is from the steroid? I guess I should continue the meds until Monday when I see him unless it changes or gets worse.

The astigmatism strength is -0.5, and the best I can see with glasses is 20/20 (both before and now with this new change). I have never worn contacts. You could have lost your eye from an infected corneal ulcer. Vigamox is the strongest antibiotic out there. Corneal ulcers need not be painful. Follow up with the opthalmologist of your choice and stay away from optometrists.

Hello, I'm being treated for "bacterial Keratitis" on the left eye. I've had the infection for about two weeks. I waited a long time to see a doctor because I don't have insurance and I thought it was pinkey and would heal on it's own. I was wrong. I finally went at cost of $140. I was diagnosed and given vigamox (4 x day) and Tobradex. The doctor insisted I come back the next day to check my pupil after dilated. So, I paid another $140 for that exam.
