No not safe.:/ your body temp is not suppossed to go over 100 so be careful with the tanning, dont get to hot.

I think it is possible to develop allergies to things you were not previously allergic to. But it could also be the tanning lotion. You might as well check the ingredients against the ingredients in your old lotion. If possible, switch back to your old tanning lotion to rule out that as the cause of the allergic reaction.

Any ideas on what's the best self tanning lotion to use...that actually works? I'm used to using tanning beds every summer, but since being preggers probably shouldn't do that. What have you ladies used to get a little tan during pregnancy?

I just use regular lotion on dry areas elbows/knees/ankles and my hands first, then apply the lotion. It smells very summery, like really good tanning lotion.

Tanning salons are a no no , tanning beds are harmful to the baby.

Depends where you go, definitely ask a doctor but I know that the one by me uses a product that's purely a DHA protein so I'm assuming its not bad but I'm gonna ask my doc too cuz I'm a pasty mofo, but you can go in a tanning bed, if you go 3 times a week for no longer then 8 min your fine ( depending on the bed), if stick with the lower beds that produce more UVB rays ( the burning rays) because they produce more vitamin d which is essential for the baby, the only danger factor

I talked to one of my friends that used to work at a tanning bed and uses the same tanning lotion as me. The same thing happened to her & said it was some kind of fungis, there was a type of lotion that you can buy to help get rid of this. I never bought the lotion but the bumps stopped coming after tanning but I still get the white spots.

i have asked and researched in tanning is bad while breastfeeding and it isnt...but what about lotion!! Will it go into my breastmilk and wil it harm my baby??

t looked on the internet yet but If you could find it It will help. There was a tanning lotion that was actually for sun spots. It covered them well, Another thing was getting a mystic tan, ( a spray on tan) It may be fake but that covered some of mine. I am however going to look for that lotion again.

Absolutely noooooooo tanning!!!! It is extremely dangerous for the baby!!!!! I have been using the lotions that gradually tan u.....jergens works the best but has a weird smell.....and they don't make you orange!!!!! But please no no no tanning!!!!!!!

Hi all, So I have tanned before and I have fairly sensitive skin with lots of freckles, but usually after I continue tanning in the bed and slowly building up my time, my skin gets use to the UV rays. It takes time but I can usually get there. Until now.. It all started a few months ago when I was trying to build up a base tan before summer and after about a week or so of tanning I noticed that I was getting this rash looking thing on my chest.

Is it safe to lay in the sun as long as you stay hydrated? Also, is using tanning lotion while you're outside safe? I am currently 32w1d.

Does anyone use bronzer or gradual tanning lotion? Im so pale and i think a splash of color will make me look a little more healthy. Are these safe to use?

My doctor specifically said not to tan because it raises your internal body temperature but ive heard some ladies are told its fine. Sunless tanning lotion is fine and spray tanning is fine but they usually recommend like a nose plug for spray tanning since you're breathing in the tan!
