Avatar m tn Is metoprolol and amlodipine safe to take?Since I am 38 only what would be its long term effects. That is taking the drug for over 30 years? Finally whether the dosage may be changed? Please help.
Avatar m tn I'll be interested in input on this question. I've taken Amlodipine for many years and always had a similar heart rate (fast but not out of control). Last April a cardiologist added a beta blocker to help control an intermittent irregular rhythm. It's worked for the arrhythemia but of course has also dropped my heart rate and blood pressure. I don't like to be on any more meds than really necessary.
15481674 tn?1440853541 Yesterday morning i took my thyroid pill on an empty stomach, then around 6 i took my famotidine i ate breakfast around 7 and i took a 1mg of Ativan, and My Losartan 100mg which is a blood pressure pill and Amlodipine 2.5mg which is a small dose, also my Metformin after breakfast too. Avatar m tn since my release I have had a rapid pulse between 105 and 125, swelling in my lower legs, and pain both in the calf and front which is aggravated by walking or climbing stairs. Sitting there is no pain at all. What is causing this? I take several BP medicines as well as cholesterol meds. Micardis, plavix, a diuretic amlodipine.
Avatar m tn //www.drugs.com/amlodipine.html. Vision issues are considered rare. Here is a comprehensive list of side effects: https://www.drugs.com/sfx/amlodipine-side-effects.html. It also lists red, irritated eyes as a side effect. I think I'd let your doctor know you are having watery eyes.
Avatar n tn t seem to find any info about it being helpful for that. All the info I have found is about blood pressure. Is this a common prescription? Should I be concerned if I already have low blood pressure?
Avatar n tn You should discuss with your doctor, but from what you tell me it sounds like you do not have any problem with the low HR. I assume the 44 is only when fully at rest and the HR will come up when you engage in some physical activity. A dose of 100 mg is a "high" dose in my book. How is the BP? I have taken as much as 200 mg of Metoprolol to slow down a fast HR... but it gave me too many side effects.
Avatar f tn can levetiracetam 750mg (2 2 times a day) be taken with amlodipine 10mg (1 time a day) and albuterol 90mcg (2 pumps 4 times a day). Can these be mixed? I this too much medicine?
Avatar f tn Can you please tell me what other good medications to be taken with the Diovan. I appreciate your help. This discussion is related to <a href='/posts/show/874716'>Calcium blockers & Milk</a>.
Avatar f tn d want him to see a cardiologist. Because this will clearly be a life long battle for him. Now that he is on the medication, is his blood pressure stable, controlled and lower? Does he still have the facial flushing? Each class of blood pressure medication is a little different. This article goes through all the different options of types of medications. https://www.mayoclinic.
20003202 tn?1488258062 (stopped working), now just Amlodipine 10 mg. Since taking the Amlodipine 10 mg. for about a week, my blood pressure keeps going higher and higher. Today readings were between 160/90 - 165/125. Also, my lower legs are sore, I have dizziness and feel light-headed, and are extremely lethargic. Is there any light at the end of the tunnel? Is there a cleaner medication with better results and less side effects. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am desperate....
Avatar m tn there is no downside to using it, especially as it well tolerated and inexpensive.
Avatar f tn My question is can nebivolol be taken twice a day in 2.5 mg doses, I am unable to find any medical study using nebivolol twice a day all recommend single dose of 5mg as starting dose, have any of you have experience with taking nebivolol twice a day.
Avatar f tn I have bad knees due to skiing accidents and have never had TKR. However, I am obese, have OA and take the following meds daily: amlodipine, sertralive, ASA-LD. Exercise is very difficult for me. What could be causing this? This is kinda scaring me - I don't want to have a DVT...
Avatar m tn m glad you are tracking your blood pressure at home s this helps in understanding if you have hypertension and to what degree. Different readings throughout the day is normal. Here is a guideline to help understand the best way to monitor your BP at home: https://www.mayoclinic.
Avatar m tn I was on Losartan 50mg which was working fairly well then the nephrologist suggested I switch to Amlodipine 2.5 mg. which he says is better for creatinine levels. I had been taking Amlodipine for a few weeks and BP rose. Doctor has increased to 5 mg. Not sure how long it will take to reduce BP. Has anyone any experience with Amlodipine? How is it? Any adverse side effects?
Avatar m tn After this happened 3 times, I was able to convince her. The amlodipine is great for the spasms, and the nitro works every time for me. I take the nitrostat under my tongue. There is a lot of reading on the internet if you know what to look for. You could try researching "small vessel disease, vasopspams, unstable angina or microvessel disease or even Cardiac Syndrome X. The chest pain with these spasms are never brought on by exertion.
Avatar f tn Had a large tumor and total thyroidectomy removed 3 weeks ago. The past few days having dull but strong headaches that go into my ear, down my jaw into my neck. I'm taking 100 mcg of Levothyroxine a day and 2 Calcitrol a day. My calcium was very low after surgery.
Avatar m tn My solution has been to take only one tablet every other day, by missing out a day, and that has helped minimise these weird uncomfortable side effects. Can you tell me what is going on with my feet. Any recommendations. Thanks. (I do check my blood pressure daily to stop going to the higher limits). Cheers Danny.
Avatar f tn The best way to find out, if this works for you, is to actually try it for several weeks. My suggestion is to go grain, sugar and dairy free. The effects of gluten, unfortunately may linger around for a long time, even if improvement is experienced early. I hope this helps, however, it is not intended as a substitute for medical advice.
Avatar f tn They started me on losartan 50 mg and amlodipine 5mg. And for some reason it seams like it is not going down, so I went to the ER and they increased my amlodipine to 10mg and adv me to contact my primary dr that following week. Called the dr that next week and he increased my losartan to 100 mg and amlodipine to 10 mg, 1 each per day. However it seems like my bp is still hanging out around the upper 180's.
Avatar n tn The forum does not suggest any medication nor recommend any medication for any cardiovascular disorders, etc. I believe your opinions are more in the pharmacological domain.
Avatar n tn If your doctor still thinks everything is okay, then try support socks/stockings. I've been on BP meds, including olmesartan/hydrochlorothiazide, and I still need to wear support socks. I have a pair for light support and a pair for moderate support for days when I'll be on my feet a lot. This also helps my ankle pain. Just a thought.
Avatar m tn Here is what drugs.
