ultram er strength

What's the difference between Ultram ER and Tramadol? I've been taking/abusing Ultram ER 200mg. To get off these things my Dr switched me to Tramadol 50mg. 1-2 4 times daily w/2 extra strength Tylenol. I'm feeling lethargic. I slept fine but I'm just tired and I'm jumpy. For those who have not read my journal this all started after being struck by lighting in June. I'm assuming what I'm felling is a difference between Ultram and Tramadol.

Let me explain better.....he was weening me off of Ultram and I was doing really, really well but my insurance would not pay for as many Ultram as I needed. So, He didn't want me going c/t so he wanted to give me something that was like Ultram to replace it. He told me that the MS ER was the same "kind" of med as Ultram. He said that it is the "sister" to Ultram. Right now I'm on the next to LOWEST dose there is so it is a very, very low dose.

I do not need to get a buzz from the meds. So I have these Ultram ER - extended release @ 100 mg; one pill per day. Has anyone used these before and what about them? BTW - I have cut down on travel considerably but this has been going on and off since April and surgery in June...I have to work.

Using a Fentanyl patch 50mcg/hr for a year or so.......My back is giving me problems and I am wondering about a script my doc gave me for Ultram ER....He says this is not an opiate but I have read a lot about Ultram on here....not seen that much about the "extended release." Any info would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to go down that road if it will lead to disaster (again).

NOW, THERE IS A PILL CALLED ULTRAM ER ,,,,, IT IS LIKE OXY BECAUSE IT HAS THAT TIME RELEASED COATING OVER IT. COULD SOMEONE TAKE OFF THE COATING (LIKE THEY DO WITH OXY), CRUSH IT UP AND SNORT IT AND GET HIGH? I ASK BECAUSE IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THOSE TWO PILLS DONT HAVE OPIATES IN THEM SO COULD U GET HIGH? BOYFRIEND GOT SOME OF THOSE AND I DONT KNOW IF I SHOULD BE WORRIED ABOUT THAT????

So I went in for my appointment today and it felt really good to have all my questions and concerns written down so I didn't forget any of my questions. He ended up prescribing me zanaflex for my muscle pain (was on robaxin, but it didn't work well) and Ultram ER for daily pain. I know a lot of other people on here take Ultram, but I have never taken it, so it should be interesting to see if it helps me.

But, I checked with our nurse and she asked how your are trying to d-tox from it? Tramadol and Ultram are the same drugs. They also have Ultram ER which is the extended released. It is a controlled substance. A lot of PM docs use this for patients to take all day long, every day. My employer and doc tried to put me on Ultram ER and I refused to take it. Good luck and if you need any suggestions for the d-tox, let me know and I will check.

I was going so nuts I called my sis from 40 miles away to come help me at home I was losing it ( God give her soul her peace ) She came down but I had already jumped in my car and drove to the er by then. The er doc gave me that med they give for nausea and the nerves cant remember the name green capsule. Before I got home I was back on Oxycontin and here I am after switchin to Morphine. Sorry about telling my story lil at a time just the way I am. Will confess more later if I think of it.

i am getting scared. now how can i go to the ER and tell them i took.. 200 mg ultram and 200 mg darvocet.. and a tizantidine... of which only the ultram i have a perscription for. i know i should go. becuase its not going away... has anyone of you had shaking like this with ultrams?? i am hoping its not the ultrams..

This for 6 years!!! Have had all the care, including TENS and nothing helps. The only pain relief is ULTRAM ER, which I willnot take because of the side effects. My neurological surgeon says I cannot have more ulna nerve surgery now because such surgery would probably be worse than now....the good news? He says it will get worse, in which case surgery may be required. The other good news? I can tell the weatherman 12 hours before a front comes through!

The problem I have is that before when I was taking 100 mg Ultram ER twice a day with the methadone as listed above my pain was controled, but since I have tried going down on it I have pain all the time again. I was wondering if there was any other long acting medication out there that works simular to the Ultram ER?

I have just been prescribed, Ultram ER, Did some searches and read on here, That it shouldn't be mixed with ADs that serratonin affected, I am on Effexor, The last few months I have had terrible sinus headaches and migraines. Appreciate any info on this!

My dr. just gave me a sample of Ultram ER, 200 mg. I took one 2 hours ago, and STILL feel nausaus, dizzy, creepy...and still in pain. I'll take the back pain any day of the week than to ever feel like this again. What a horrible, nasty drug. He wanted to give me the vicodin again, and I said no thanks...tapered off of that twice and never want to go thru that again either. I'll stick to the tylenol, ice, and that's it.

I am working with a pain Dr who says that the level of vics I am taking is well within the medically justifiable levels because structural conditions in my back. Neither of us wants me to increase the strength or amount of vics. I have been doing less and less though to keep pain at a minimum even with the current meds. He is recommending that I start taking Ultram and see how that does for increased pain on an as needed basis.

I posted earlier about a very bad ear infection. I ended up going to the ER and they put a weird almost pill looking thing in my ear, to open it up cuz it was pretty much all the way closed. I let them know I was pregnant and they have me prescribed ear drops and ultram which is a pain reliever for extreme pain. The thing is though I just looked it up and it says that ultram is a class c drug. Which I don't.feel comfortable taking while pregnant. But I am in extreme pain!

My question is, I wanted to know how much ultram of the 100mg er I would need to take to keep up with the norco I was taking. Or if it even is comparible to the norco......

I was able to control the dose combard to the the Ultram. Ultram is the same as Tramadol except that you only take one pill with Ultram...and you have to wait for results. While you are severe pain, that is a long time to wait especially since vicodin and tramadol works faster. Since you will figure that out, you will find yourself taking more ultram just to make sure that you can have the least amount of pain possibe. I felt myself taking another Ultram because the pain was blinding.

Anyone taken Opana ER? My doctor wants to switch me from Oxy to Opana ER and I am very nervous about it. Any advice is helpful.

one year ago iwas taking fentanyl 100mg patch every 3days, 9vicodan,4 soma, ultram as needed and 175 of lyrica for pain management. i forced myself to start physical therapy for i felt i was going to die if i stayed on drugs. I ve beengoing to therapy now for 1 year and i am off all meds except for 3 ultram a day. thisdetox road has been hell physically and mentally. how much longer should this take.

Ultram (Tramadol) is going to do nothing but prolong your withdrawals. Tramadol, whether it's in Ultram, Ultracet, or Ultram ER, is a nasty drug to detox from. It has properties that make it almost like a benzo and an opiate combined into one little nasty pill. There's things to take that are not addictive that can help with withdrawal symptoms such as clonidine (Catapres) and hydroxyzine (Vistaril, Atarax). Please, steer clear of the Ultram.

I've been on this site watching for awhile and decided to join...you all seem like a great support group! So I've become addicted to Ultram. I've been on it for over a year and I take about 13 or so a day. I've decided I have to quit for me and for my daughter. My husband is no support at all! He thinks people who take pills have serious problems and he has no idea about my serious addiction.

I recently was prescribed Opana ER was on methadone for two months and Norco for breakthrough pain. I had trouble tolerating the methadone. It made me feel horrible, couldnt function and didnt really help my back and hip pain. I am chicken to take the Opana. I need to get started on it and try it but I am so afraid of stronger pain meds. Anyone familiar with it and did it help with the pain without sedating you too much?

Hi, and thank you so much for writing to me! As far as I know, Ultram for immediate release (IR) only comes in 50mg strength. They also have extended release in several strengths. The nice thing about the way I'm doing this is that I can even half the 50mg pills if I need to---you can't cut or break the ER strength Ultram because it's dangerous, so once you take one, you get a whole dose with no choice in the matter about cutting down gently.

was doing some reading and it seems the dol hcl is like the hydrocodone and the regular dol is like ultram--- however the ultram er is totally different than the regular ultram??? anyone know the diff on these nightmares??
