Avatar m tn I do not need to get a buzz from the meds. So I have these Ultram ER - extended release @ 100 mg; one pill per day. Has anyone used these before and what about them? BTW - I have cut down on travel considerably but this has been going on and off since April and surgery in June...I have to work.
Avatar f tn They usually send me home with Dilauid, and then i go to pain management to start the weaning process, he usually gives me Vicoden 10/325. I have found that Ultram has really helped in the past with withdrawal systoms. I must admit, not only because of all the surgeries approximately 18 thoughtout my lifetime, i do enjoy the dam opiates. But i need to and want to get off these dam pills after i recover. PLEASE people i am going to need HELP, this *****....
Avatar n tn watch out for the ultram, it is very addicting and the w/ds are bad from those too. take a look in the health pages to the right, there are some really good tips for w/ds. you will find the thomas recipe and the aminos protocols..they help alot. keep posting it helps too...also get exercise it is the best thing i did. start with just walking a short distance and build up...you will be amazed...
Avatar m tn But, I checked with our nurse and she asked how your are trying to d-tox from it? Tramadol and Ultram are the same drugs. They also have Ultram ER which is the extended released. It is a controlled substance. A lot of PM docs use this for patients to take all day long, every day. My employer and doc tried to put me on Ultram ER and I refused to take it. Good luck and if you need any suggestions for the d-tox, let me know and I will check.
Avatar m tn What's the difference between Ultram ER and Tramadol? I've been taking/abusing Ultram ER 200mg. To get off these things my Dr switched me to Tramadol 50mg. 1-2 4 times daily w/2 extra strength Tylenol. I'm feeling lethargic. I slept fine but I'm just tired and I'm jumpy. For those who have not read my journal this all started after being struck by lighting in June. I'm assuming what I'm felling is a difference between Ultram and Tramadol.
Avatar f tn go to the Ultram forum here, it is strictly for ultram users. Its amazing, trust me it's gonna be hell like it is now for atleast the first five days. You need caffeine a.s.a.p. to get you going and replace what ultram did for you. I am shocked to see that you were taking that many pills. If any of your symptoms worsen, and I mean, you feel like you might die, go to the ER, but otherwise it is going to suck bad. I'm going through it right now too. Your not alone.
Avatar m tn Hi whitedove and welcome! And yes, if you took the 1 ultram it will stop the withdrawal because your body would still be getting the drug. Ultram is the worst in my book - I too had taken other opiates throughout the years and getting off of those was a cakewalk for me by comparison. And if you do have the ultram left and want to quit entirely, tapering is the best way to go.
Avatar n tn I Agree with ballgame get off the ultram its only going to make things worst in the end........you cant get off a narcotic with a narcotic dont work that way......
Avatar f tn one year ago iwas taking fentanyl 100mg patch every 3days, 9vicodan,4 soma, ultram as needed and 175 of lyrica for pain management. i forced myself to start physical therapy for i felt i was going to die if i stayed on drugs. I ve beengoing to therapy now for 1 year and i am off all meds except for 3 ultram a day. thisdetox road has been hell physically and mentally. how much longer should this take.
Avatar f tn Let me explain better.....he was weening me off of Ultram and I was doing really, really well but my insurance would not pay for as many Ultram as I needed. So, He didn't want me going c/t so he wanted to give me something that was like Ultram to replace it. He told me that the MS ER was the same "kind" of med as Ultram. He said that it is the "sister" to Ultram. Right now I'm on the next to LOWEST dose there is so it is a very, very low dose.
Avatar f tn A few months ago I had to get some serious dental work done and I explained to my dentist that I could not take narcotics and so he prescribed me Ultram. To make a long story short, the withdrawal symptoms that I feel when I am out of Ultram are far worse than I felt with Lortab, Percocet, etc. I tried suboxone for these withdrawals and felt completly wiped out and dizzy. I thought Ultram was safe and non-addictive. Apparently I thought wrong.
449842 tn?1214362266 Does Ultram ER work to relieve Vicodin withdrawal symptoms, specifically the ichy crawling-out-of-your-skin feeling? 2. Any other Rx used for Vicodin withdrawal, specifically the ichy crawling-out-of-your-skin feeling? Wish me luck guys, I can't wait until I have extra money in my pocket instead of spending every last dollar on pills, just to feel normal.
Avatar n tn There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. ULTRAM ER should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Neonatal seizures, neonatal withdrawal syndrome, fetal death and still birth have been reported during post-marketing reports with tramadol HCl immediate-release products. Labor and Delivery ULTRAM ER should not be used in pregnant women prior to or during labor unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks.
955947 tn?1246543837 Hi folks- I have been on 400 mg of Tramadol ER....for about a month- I am fairly certain that its making me vomit and have nausea, plus I have been more irritable since I have been taking it. However when I started I thought it was a wonder drug because it helped with chronic pain from Rheumatoid arthritis and a recent broken foot. Anyway I would like to taper down, to see if I can get releif on lower dose with out nausea...and being b*tchy!! .
Avatar f tn I was prescribed tramadol (Ultram) for a back injury in mid August. When I started I was taking 2 50 mgs pills a day. Since then I have had to increase my dose so that it works, first to twice 150 mgs and then 200 mgs a day. So I have been taking it for about 6 weeks and at 200 mgs for about 1 week. My back pain has not improved substantially over this period. But I am afraid of relying on pain medication. Especially when it is evident I am already building tolerance.
Avatar f tn Do not take the ultram, I got off vicoden, the withdrawal was bad so I told my doc, he said take ultram its not a narcotic. So I did that was eight months ago. Now I'm on day five of being off ultram and the withdrawal pain is unbelievable. If you want off the pills don't trade them in for another just get ready for the withdrawal and get a support group. Its going to suck but it can be done on pure will power.
Avatar n tn i recently started going to aa and have quit drinking and smoking, so naturally even though i have serious back pain i wanted OFF THE DRUGS. well, i switched from norco to ultram and when i ran out, i have started withdrawal REALLY bad. this is worse than i have ever experienced with the previous "narcotic" drugs. i can't sleep/eat, i have been dry heaving, i feel like i am crawling out of my skin... and all i can do is sit and cry because it's so miserable.
Avatar m tn was doing some reading and it seems the dol hcl is like the hydrocodone and the regular dol is like ultram--- however the ultram er is totally different than the regular ultram??? anyone know the diff on these nightmares??
Avatar f tn I think all the ultram did was make the withdrawal nonexistent. This was my doctors goal and since Im over the worst I think starting today I will decrease the dosage and hopefully wake up on Christmas day and be completely drug free!! Thats my goal. Every time I doubted myself I looked at my daughters, 8 and 10. I realized this week it was me talking to them. It was different. I wasnt moody, irritable, tired. I was myself and I havent seen that side of me in a long time.
783281 tn?1259691431 Using a Fentanyl patch 50mcg/hr for a year or so.......My back is giving me problems and I am wondering about a script my doc gave me for Ultram ER....He says this is not an opiate but I have read a lot about Ultram on here....not seen that much about the "extended release." Any info would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to go down that road if it will lead to disaster (again).
Avatar f tn So, I took my first dose of Suboxone yesterday, and my last dose of Ultram was about 550mgs, 12 hours before that. I had no idea how the Suboxone would make me feel, since Ultram is not a "complete" opioid. Well, here is what I have pieced together so far. Ultram is a triple threat, meaning that parts of it act on the mu opiate receptor, part of it is an SSRI, and it is ALSO an SNRI, which means it produces Serotonin AND Norepinephrine.
Avatar f tn my doctor just gave me a prescription for ultram er 200mg and i have cirossis is this ok to take for short period of time about 1 or 2 months please answer was on lortab prior
Avatar m tn I have been taking 200 mg of Ultram for 6 months for herniated discs and leg pain. I was under the impression that they were a non-narcotic pain reliever and weren't addictive. However, I found out I'm pregnant last week so I discontinued the medication. This caused me to experience severe withdrawal symptoms along with the back pain. I was concerned the withdrawal would cause a miscarriage so I continued to take them at half the usual dose.
Avatar m tn is anyone switching ultram tramadol for pain management, How does itseem to be working fro you?
