Hello all, I know I haven't been on here in a while but the side effects have only gotten worse. I have lost 20 pounds, I have a rash on my back and arm, can't concentrate or focus. The depression was so bad last month I was seriously considering shooting myself. Anti depressants have been upped to 80 mgs a day. Now my platelets have dropped down to 22,000 so they are going to try to put me on Promacta to bring them back up. Blood pressure is low but nothing serious.
There are NO crystal balls that can predict how your body will fare. HERE is my suggestion- expect the very worse and be prepared for all the side effects to happen. Make sure you have help, that you have educated yourself on the meds and how to take them to be successful --- EXPECT it to be horrific!! AND - expect it to cure you from this dreadful disease that could take your life and be more horrible to endure then the treatment ever thought of being.
Like many NSAIDS prescribed for canine arthritis including spondylosis or arthritis of your dogs spine, serious and in some cases deadly side effects do occur. Serious side effects in dogs can occur with or without warning, and may result in death. An article published a few years ago, titled 'Why is Fido dead? named Previcox (firocoxib), along with other NSAID drugs as being responsible for 22,000 cases of illness in dogs, almost 3,000 of which were fatal.
hi, sorry I can't comment on the herb or the Triamcinolone but like all steroids there are many side effects....do speak with your Vet and tell them whats happening. Atopica(cyclosporine) is prescribed OFF label for cats...usually to treat Feline Granuloma Comlpex. the side effects are less than that of steroids.esp for long term use. . http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_cyclosporine.
After seeing a Dermatologist and given prednisone and a shot, it went away only to be replaced by what appeared to be an extremely itchy form of Dermatographism which later changed into a spontaneously occurring papular dermatitis which I've had for 6 months.I have been on cetirizine for several years for itchy hands and feet, the dermatographism seemed to be connected to the intake of cetirizine and lessened in severity when I changed my allergy pill or stopped all together.
I see them stopping, feeling something isn't quite right as they stare at each other. Well, you little bastards, something isn't quite right for you any longer. I am stopping your breeding program as of tonight and soon you are going to be on the run. Although I was expecting something awful to happen to me, perhaps instant flu, the war has started tamely enough with no ill effects. The shot was surprisingly easy after the dire warnings from my nurse contact that I needed in person schooling.
Antihistamines help sometimes too, but I'd stay away from injected cortisone, which as you probably know can cause significant side-effects if used repeatedly. Topical anti-itch preparations like Sarna lotion, used continually can help suppress itch and scratching. You can pick that up without a prescription while you wait for your next visit.
I agree that Cyclosporine/Atopica is a very strong drug with many side effects...but it is safer to be on than other forms of steroids for long term usage. I posted this link above that suggests doxycycline (an antibiotic) has shown success in abt 50% of cases. I will post it again. I will also add if yuo and your Vet do decide to use this antibiotic to be sure and give a probiotic to prevent yeast infections afterward. I can give you the name of an excellent probio. safe for use in cats.
I know I shouldn't be self prescribing like this, but doctors don't seem to have the answer. I checked on the internet for possible side effects and there were none. I have used it for 5 days now and I do think it is helping, though the itching still comes back from time to time. I'll keep at it for a couple of weeks and let you all know if it worked.
My daughter age 17 months has gotten a red mosquito type bite or bump. It gets very puffy, also gets them on her are. Only left side. She was diagnosed w/ PFAPA on Feb. And had T&A done and has been fever free for the past three months. But these mosquito looking bumps are odd. I even took her to the pediatrician today, he said its just mosquito bites. I told him that its unlikely that a mosquito could bite her in the same location monthly.
-Okay I'm 13 -bout right inbetween medium and large -pretty sure I don't have diabetes -don't think I really have any diseases -have been around my dog who hadn't been washed since right before October. -freinds cats -freinds dogs -out side -no meds besides small things like ibuprofen and tylonel. -started as a spider bite looking thing but got redish and spread. Small bumps itch after shower and occasionally at night. -The first out breaks area turned into a flat not long but lineular shape.
I started taking them for energy, but the side effect was a complete rollback of my itching and other symptoms. However, over the past few months they seemed to have quit working (darn it!), so I'm not sure if that will help anyone else or not. But it's worth a shot.
I take Lipator, vitamin D, and use a estrogen patch for hot flashes and night sweats, (I'm 56 years old). I have two small dogs. I have had adult acne since I was in my twenties. Have had eczema on my hands and feet, on and off, since my twenties. Have been under extreme stress lately due to being laid-off and my husband's prostate cancer. My race is a mixture of Hebrew, English, and American Indian. Let me know, maybe we can figure out this condition!
Ok, so I've been putting up with on again, off again itching for months on my labia, near my vaginal opening. Never "diagnosed" with HPV but I did get rid of a suspected wart this past year. Can you have a bacterial infection without discharge? It drives me CRAZY sometimes, the only thing that calms it is gold bond ointment, which is minty and refreshing but I'd like no itch. No "rash" that I can see, unless I give in and scratch.
I have tried Doxepin which was good for hives, but put me in a mental fog as it is an anti depressant. For me, the Hydroxezine has the fewest side affects. I seem to get them all. I have also been on Methotrexate which is very much like the Cyclosporine, both lower your immune system. I am going back on the Methotrexate soon to see if I can get rid of the hives instead of just managing them. Right now they are under control, but always there.
Nervously, I experimented not taking my hypertension and cholesterol pill for a week to see if the itching subsides or goes away then I am really certain the itchy bumps are side effects of the pills. Today is the 7th day of my being pill-free but I still get the itchy bumps during the day and becoming worse at night. Since I've already tried the other topicals (hydrocortisone, triamcinolone, Aveeno for itchy, dry skin, etc) I thought I'd try Vick's Vaporub.
So I went on the pill to help even out my hormones. All of which helped and it has been a way for a few months with just a few niggly bits a the side of my nose. However my 4 1/2 year old has it now !!! So i'm doing the same with her diet and shes been refered to the hospital for allery testing. I'm not sure now as it seems odd it may even been a weird virus !!!? Hope any of this helps someone.
So, I slowed down the use of the corticosteroid, after ~3 weeks of use, due to long term use side-effects. My situation is deteriorating. A couple days ago I noticed that my scrotum now has these bumps which hadn't appeared before. The 2-3 welts on my waist/hip bone are not going anywhere... New itchy bumps are appearing on my buttocks. Why would allergic contact dermatitis appear as little hand blisters, welts and bumps on legs/thighs and pimply bumps on penis/scrotum? ****, I'm going mad...
Apologiies in advance for this crazily long post- perhaps if I had forced my pharmacist to read all of this, he might have actually been helpful..... For the last few weeks I have been suffering from incredibly sensitive eyes/eyelids which are red, dry and sore, similar to sunburn. I initially thought it was because of some cheap make-up remover wipes that I used to take off my mascara.
Try to detox first, but remember if you never detoxed before you may have few side effects. These side effects are common, because they are expelling the toxins and waste out of your body. You must drink plenty of water also when you are detoxing. Drinking lemon peel slices in water is also a good cleanser. There was an item told to me by a friend that I purchased on line back then, it was called the itch zapper. It may sound funny, but it works.
For the last 6 months I have been getting tearing (look like paper cuts) in my vaginal area (1/4 to 1/2 inch long). I get the tears at least once or twice a week and they last from 2-4 days, go away for a few days and then come back. They continue to occur in the same locations; 1. Inside the vaginal lips on the sides almost always in the crease (between the labia minora and majora?) 2. Between the anus and vaginal opening (perineum) 3. Above the clitoris in the "hood" area.
I too have the exact problem and have had it for about two years. I have tried almost every product on the market which has had various side effects. Most recently I visited a Health store and they directed my to this product called Black Walnut & Wormwood herbal supplement. I have found that this product seems to make them less active on your body when comsumed with some type of liquids.
They will stay for varying lengths of time and then dry up and go away. Usually not for more than a couple of weeks. I may go for months and months and not get them and then all of a sudden they show up. I have been to various dermatologists over the years and they seem puzzled and never seem to know what they are.
I am sitting here totally amazed ! A couple of years ago both upper arms had the same itching, it went on for ages. I put it down to the menopause, as nobody could give me another reason. Then it just stopped. For the last couple of months it has started again, I am sitting here with an ice pack on my left arm, I couldn't sleep and picked up the laptop. Like everybody else I am amazed that I am not on my own !
BTW, I wanted to mention also, since changing my diet, the uncomfortable pressure I used to feel on my right side (in my abdominal area) has completely vanished. For a while I thought I might have some serious issue like stomach cancer or something ripped or torn inside me (due to body building and weight training). Now I see it was just due to my diet and most likely my intestines not getting a break and/or being inflamed or something. Since changing my diet, that has gone away.
The same itching, scratching and weeping (which is a colourless fluid the same as produced by other types of eczema). I used steroid cream for years too but I also didn't think it was good for my body in general. I have now discovered Aloe Propolis cream... it is totally natural and I pop a little in my ears if they feel dry or itchy. It hasn't cured completely yet... but these things take a while... but it is definitely helping and is something I will continue to use always.
