I never had any side effects or withdrawl symptoms from Soma. I was given a script of 2, 50 mg Trams. HCL, 3 times a day. Because it had very little effect on my pain, I usually did not take the middle of the day dose, 2 in AM, 2 in PM, only occassionally taking the 2 in themid day. Last Thursday I decided I wasn't going to take these any more since they didn't help that much with the pain anyway. I had been on the Tram. since January 2009.
I was just prescribed tramadol hcl 50 mg. The paperwork says it is an analgesic...the info online says it is narcotic-like. I was very specific when I picked it up to ask the pharmacist if it was narcotic...he said no. I am wondering why then it would say it is addictive/habit forming? Any help would be greatly appriciated. God bless...

I found an old bottle (from 2004) of tramadol HCL 50 mg in the med cabinet, the bottle says take 3 per day for pain. For the last 3 days I have taken one per day, I don’t know if it’s helping, with my w/d’s, mostly mental cravings now, I kind of think it is. I have about 24 pills left in that bottle, with no intention of refilling and no intention of taking more than 1 per day.

Day 22 Cold Turkey tramadol ... I woke up HAPPY. I used to wake up happy all the time, before the tramadol. Waking up happy is good. Then I tried to move. I had to use my hands and arms to get up out of bed. My body has been pushed as far as it will go. So after trying all my best tricks (aminos, coffee, food, vitamins, water) I finally stopped the struggle and called in sick for work. Tomorrow will be a busier day anyhow.

This past December I pulled a muscle in my back which turned into a muscle spasm. I was prescribed Diclofenac SO EC 50 mg, Skelaxin 800 mg, tramadol HCL 50 mg. Two days after taking my medications I had a bad reaction with a 103 degree temperature. I went back to the doctor and he said it wasn't due to the meds and blamed it on bronchitis right after saying that I didn't have symptoms of bronchitis. Another doctor confirmed it was due to a bad reaction to the meds.
