Switching over to Vicodin from Tramadol and tapering off the Vicodin seems to be working, and I am getting some sleep. I'm down to 9 Vicodin today. Monday I'll go down to 7 a day, and right now the Anxiety isn't so bad. By the end of the week I should be off all Vicodin, and on the road to getting my life back. MadTram, you've been through alot, and I'm sorry to hear of your suffering with this same horrible Sleep Anxiety. The CBT has been helping me over the past few days.
Thanks for the reply.. I have a script waiting at the pharmacy for tramadol and flexeril.. I also have klonopin on hand.. I do nto get everything from a DR. but the Tram, and Flexeril are prescribed. Ny drug of choice is oxycodone.. I have heard mixed things about tramadol, espeacially that it isn;t addictive and or a narcotic.. Like I said, just what I have heard.. I have never taken it.. I will be using the tramadol to keep the withdrawls from happening if it is possible..
TO ALL OF YOU TRAMADOL USERS AND ABUSERS: I have been reading on here how many people are users and abusers of tramadol. I have a very important message for you that you may not be aware of. DO NOT take tramadol if you are already taking any anti-depressant called an SSRI (serum-serotonin re-uptake inhibitor). If you are unsure if your med is an SSRI, ask your pharmacist (many anti-depressants are). They is a contraindication with these two meds.
I take Lexapro with it too just one a day but I wonder if the doctors know of a reaction to Tramadol like mine or is it possibly a combo of tramadol and Lexapro. My mom tried tramadol and it does nothing for her pain or for energy. But for me I am just a lightning bug all day and come bed time I am totally relaxed and comfy and fall right to sleep.
I have also been on different meds for the pain of fibro and my last trip to the internist finally got me some relief. I am taking Ultram ER 200mg a day, flexeril at night for my muscles, and I am now on norco 10.325 twice a day or as needed. I still take all of my vitamins faithfully. This is the first time in months that I have actually feel pretty good. Don't get me wrong, I still have some pain but it is manageable. I hope this helps you some.
Have seen several people have seizures when TAKING tramadol. AND, every tramadol related seizure I saw did not seem related to how high a dose the person was taking; RATHER was in instances where someone markedly INCREASED their dose. I think the confusion is in that seizures are common when withdrawing from sedatives (alcohol, barbiturates, benzodiazapines etc). Rare in opiate withdrawal.

Two nights ago, which was day 20, I was driving home from work and my Mom called me.She knows about the Tramadol and the withdrawal. She also knew there was something VERY wrong with me while I was on it. But again, because she knew I had chronic pain and a DOCTOR gave this to me, she didn't say anything and wouldn't really have known to say anything about it. Anyhow, at first her voice sounded way too loud. Horribly loud. Like a robot almost. A metallic quality to her voice.
My internist/gp did the blood work to check for Rh, he then sent me to my Rhuemy who in turn diagnosed me with fibro. They work together and stay in close contact regarding my treatment. I take Tramadol, Zoloft, Flexeril, Restoril, high blood pressure meds, a statin for cholesterol, and meloxicam. I couldn't tolerate Lyrica or Neurontin, both made me very ill. My Rhuemy feels that the trauma from having had 3 major knee surgeries in exactly 7 months brought my fibro to fruitation.
I'm afraid to be in that place again, I guess, but it's been 5 years since I was diagnosed. I've been on many combinations of different things. I'm now on Cymbalta and Tramadol. It's gotten me to a bareable place, I guess. I respect you so much for being able to endure. I hope that I will be able to get to that point soon. So, Nuprin...do you have any other suggestions for coping with the pain and fatigue, without meds? (kind of exercise, routines, foods, etc?
what are the effects of taking tramadol, 2 somas, 2clonazepams, tylenol pm, and flexeril all at once?
A Dr. just suggested I try Savella---is it not to be taken concurrently with Cymbalta? And she was a little "pissy" because I insisted I had been taking and needed to take Flexeril 10mg. 2 tabs 3 times a day instead of just one 3 times daily as "recommended" in the PDR. I take 2 Tramadol 3 times a day also and 2 Soma @ bedtime. She didn't want me to overdose. Even these meds don't take away the pain like I wish they did.
