the most common symptoms are fevers, sore throat (but not mouth ulcers), and muscle and/or joint aches. Mouth ulcers alone are not suggestive.
As far as testing is concerned, if your ulcers have been present for a week and they were due to HIV (VERY unlikely), an HIV blood test would now be positive. Otherwise, definitive testing should wait. Testing using the combo or "DUO" (combination HIV p24 antigen/HIV antibody) tests provide definitive results at 4 weeks.
After my exposure unprotected vaginal with CSW about 18 months ago,I still have muscle aches,headaches,pain in groin area,behind knees,fingers,toes,behind the eyes,ulcers on gums,tongue and cheeks,painful ancles and wrists.
My hiv1/2 test oraquick was neg. at 16 months but I am still thinkin that I DIDN'T produce enough antibodies to test.
Please tell me If you guys ever seen anybody turning positive after 16 months of exposure.
8 months ago I had unprotected vaginal intercourse with a csw,I started having symptoms of muscle aches,headaches,fatigue,rash on hand ,sore throat,pain behind knees,elbows,armpits 4 weeks after the incident.I still have those symptoms on and off.Also I keep getting red erythema like spots on the tongue which go nes away after 3-4 days.I tested neg. for hiv,syphlis,hepatitis,chlamydia,gonorhea 2 months after exposure,hiv tested was repeated at 4 months after exposure was neg.
I have pretty much gotten over all this but now again i get things that make me think back to the HIV scare ever since January i have been getting muscle aches and joint pain and clicking joints all over my body along with ulcers on my tongue and now i am getting spot like things on my face which are not zits they are like little sores that scab over does this sound like HIV symptoms or am i reading too far into it?

I just had a western blot test done for HIV on the 15th of September two months ago I had unprotected sex I know I know huge mistake trust me I feel like I'm paying for it...
now its all gone, but i still have muscle and joint ache and a slight white tongue. Could the white tongue and muscle and joint ache be an aftermath of the flu. I honestly don't know. I had sex with somebody while drunk and I don't think we used a condom. I can't ask him as I don't have his info. Classy eh ! 2 weeks after I get 6 ulcers on my tongue that just won't go, my tongue feels on fire. I read that mouth ulcers where a symptom of ARS and I freaked out.
Are they? I know I need to test and I will but these ulcers are worrying me a lot.
m having muscle twitching and some aches at times. My tongue is still white. I had a couple of very tiny white dots under my tongue that went away in less than a day then I had sore on the side of my tongue for in the back. I also have itchy and itchy septum and anus, and at one point I had small raised bumps mainly on the head of my penis that lasted about four days and went away, they didn't bust or have anything constructive out of them they just went away.
The ARS is best described as a flu-like illness and includes a COMBINATION of fever, muscle aches, sore throat, rash and sometime diarrhea (in combination, not alone). When patients with flu-like illness have been studied, fewer than 1% turn out to have HIV and those have virtually always had rsiky exposures (unlike your situation).
m 35 weeks today, the past few weeks my tongue has developed these little ulcers.. ALL (ob, family and dentist) my doctors say they are normal with pregnancy and will go away on their own..
How many other mama's are going through this? & is there something you do aside from watching what you eat, to help?

My spouse and I do engage in oral sex but why would it now all of a sudden cause this after all these years?My husband started having symptoms too but no sore throat or tongue just the muscle aches and neuropathic pain.I'm almost certain I have oral herpes even though I nor my spouse have ever been diagnosed hsv2 or hsv1.
5 months for HIV, syphillis and herpes all negative. Doctor presribed steroid paste for tongue. When I take it the ulcers on the boarder of my tongue go away only to return a few days later. I am confident I am HIV negative but would like to find out what is causing these ulcers. If you are able to find out please let me know.
