649848 tn?1534633700 Well, Ranaesheart suggested the other day that I do a post about yoga, since I suggest it whenever someone new comes into the community, so I'm going to give it a shot. I must confess, I am definitely a novice with yoga myself, but I learn more as I go along. I know there are several different kinds of yoga, ranging from what I do, which is slow and deliberate to another type that is very physical. Each kind of yoga has its own name and no, I don't know them all.
Avatar m tn She wrote number of articles and runs her own yoga system claiming to cure Hashimoto’s disease. She even mentions that she cured her own thyroid although her thyroid looks “ample” even to the naked eye (just check her videos!). It is very common when traditional medicine is stuck on old treatment methods, the “new” methods are growing like mushrooms after radioactive rain!

Avatar n tn I do basic yoga asana (asana means that it is less cardio more posture and stretching) since the beginning of my pregnancy. I will be 35 weeks on Tuesday and it relieve my minor pains (hips, pelvic, lower back, buttocks and thighs). It also help to have a good posture and strengthen your core muscles for birth and baby position. It is great to take that time for you to relax. Sincerely, yoga is a revelation for me.

Avatar f tn have you looked into yoga? i've never had any thyroid problems, but i've had a slew of emotional/physical problems sense i lost my mother when i was 15: migraines, insomnia, anorexia nervous, immune deficiency, abdominal colic, depression, anxiety, etc. i've been doing yoga at least once a week for 10 years and it literally helps with everything! it's low impact, so you're not going to pass out, but you feel better the very first time.
Avatar f tn I actually had my first DEXA and was diagnosed with osteopenia about 5 yrs before I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism/Hashimoto's. My bone damage isn't thyroid related. Usually bone damage that's thyroid related is due to too high levels of Free T3, though many doctors think it's caused by low TSH. Research says not. It's more common with Graves Disease than with Hashimoto's unless one is way over medicated for a long period.
Avatar n tn Stress is any physical or emotional strain on the body. Stress often causes increased demand of thyroid hormones T4 and T3. It sounds like you need to increase your medication to keep up with demand.
Avatar n tn It can also be due to low blood pressure. Get your thyroid and adrenal gland function tested. Wear loose clothes. Carry an astringent and a deodorant. Do not be over anxious about this as this will increase sweating. Easier said than done, but you have to try meditation and yoga to calm your self. Avoid too much of tea, coffee, smoking and spicy food. Take up yoga, deep breathing exercise, walking and remain strong and happy. Music and aerobics are also good stress busters.
Avatar n tn After finding the right medication and getting my thyroid levels under control, I still have terrible symtoms of fatigues, chest pain, body aches, I'm shaky, my joints swell in the morning and the lower part of my legs and feet hurt when I work out. I want to know if having hashimots disease can also cause you to have lups?
1150039 tn?1261880523 are you on med for your thyroid issues and if so, are your levels at a good point for you? The reason I ask that question is because until your thyroid levels are where YOU need them to be, it will be very difficult to lose weight. I say that in all honesty because I have experience with that. Can you give us an idea of your eating habits?

There's yoga for every age and level of activity, ranging from weight loss to chair yoga for seniors or disabled.
