932747 tn?1247616635 I had a extreamly large substernal thyroid goiter removed a few weeks ago. They found an incendental papillary cancer, and I'm scheduled for another surgery to remove the rest of the thyroid. When I asked the surgeon what caused this very large goiter, she said it was probably an autoimmune issue. Just wondering what the "issue" could be, and should I be tested for other autoimmune disorders. Thanks!
Avatar m tn this is going to be shorter version and to the point.I had a hyster but thyroid is fine.I eat very healthy low cal.worked out and nothing for 4 long month's.I tried Lipotropic shots and b12 shots one a week I'm on beginning of week two.I lost 5 lbs.I'm recovering from another surgery so no gym just low carb diet with shots.I'm so amazed its working for 6 years prior to this I tries evrything including just juicing and no avail.I think its worth the shot.
2065676 tn?1331422440 t want to bother with my fresh wheat grass juicing. OMG, I have inspired you. Who knew. That is a tremendous gift if ever there was one. Best wishes on your journey.

Avatar f tn Is anyone juicing during their pregnancy? I am 5 weeks pregnant & have been juicing fruits & veggies! I did it before I was pregnant & am containing it during my entire pregnancy. I have noticed a rise in energy, no more constipation & overall better mood!
Avatar m tn I'll try it! Going to Farmers Mkt.
Avatar n tn Can you OD on juicing? I have started juicing and drink about two 8 oz glasses per day. Usually I juice carrots, kale, celery, apples. Occassionaly dandelions, tomatoes and spinich. I have been doing this everyday for almost a week. Now I am concerned about taking in too many nutrients. Is that possible? Also what are some good combination of juices, what else should I try?
Avatar n tn Juicing is good, but its quite a bit of sugar you're consuming and you lose the fiber. Yes, it maybe easier to assimilate the nutrients but you don't need that much sugar. How about trying to make a smoothie instead. You get the nutrients and fiber, which is great as many pregnant women can be constipated. Hard things like beets, juice and add to the smoothie. As long as the blender is strong enough, apples, beets, could be placed in as well.
Avatar m tn This is a very complicated question for a forum like this. We can't know if there's some condition you have that might be inhibiting healing. We don't know what you healed like before the treatment. The disease has effects.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately, juicing and diet will not cure thyroid disease. The only thing that will is taking thyroid hormone. That being said, I've had temps as low as 94.7 while hypo. I do run a lower body temp than most though. I am hyper now and it runs 99. By the way, I am just wondering if you eat soy? I was a vegetarian most of my life and I think soy is what caused my disease in the first place. It's definitely something to look out for. Good Luck.
Avatar n tn my boyfriend has been diagnosed with an underactive thyroid. He is taking medication. His sister has him believing he needs to eat a gluetin free diet, begin juicing, and other crazy things. She is not a nutritionist. She is just a health fanatic. The problem is every day he gets the chills and an overall blah feeling around 3:00. He says his head feels like it's full of cotton. I keep telling him to go see his dr. He has not seen an endocrinologist yet.
Avatar f tn To completed my luck, I have been fighting with gain weight for more than 14 years. I used to be 135 lbs and now I am 180lbs! My thyroid doctor (2nd opinion doctor) says I don't need medications because all my hormones test are "normal". I do exercises and NOTHING happens...I walk for 1 hour, zumba, yard work,on top of that I am doing juicing, I do not eat late, and NOTHING! I do get swollen a lot and I drink a lot of water and do not drink pop at all...
Avatar m tn I'm trying to eat every 3 hours but I'm also juicing. My question is can I consider one serving of juice a meal or do I have to actual have food every 3 hours?
Avatar m tn Juicing is beneficial....as stated it is not a cure...but juicing is beneficial whether you are ill or not. For one it helps you lose weight. When Montel got MS and started juicing I got into it too even tho I don't have MS...was looking for a way to introduce more vegetables into my life. I also bought a Nutri-Bullet system and their recipes are good. Dr.Oz has some good smoothie recipes. I too started researching vegetable and fruits, Have eliminated meat in all forms from my diet.
2059648 tn?1439766665 I am quite sure that the juicing is going to keep my blood numbers stronger for me than it would have been without the juicing. Stated is my opinion only. Storm's husbands blog has been the utmost inspiration to me. Best wishes and your successful and gentle as possible treatment.
6366876 tn?1381757055 In the last month I have been drinking green smoothie and juicing. I have always hated veggies so this is a great way to get them in. I have 2 a day replace breakfast and lunch. Has anyone done this long term and been successful? Its hard to build my menu on here with juicing and green smoothie. Everything is whole serving.
747379 tn?1233023445 t get anything and said the spleen is hard to biopsy because it is so vasular. I have been juicing and cleansing and eating a vegitarian raw foods diet and have seen improvement in my symtoms but still have pain in my spleenand my MRI was unchanged after 3 months. The oncologist wants to repeat the MRI next month and keep an eye on it. My question is, is there any one out there that can successfully biopsy the spleen without removing the spleen?
Avatar m tn I am cleansing the body with juicing (vegetable juice) a special blend for 2 weeks now. The Eastern Medicine Dr. said I needed to cleanse the body and get my Kidneys, liver and other organs to function better. It seems to be working!!!
Avatar f tn Juicing can be a good addition to your other treatments and protocols. My favorite is organic apples, with organic carrot and a little organic celery. Make sure all fruits and veggies are organic though. Did you mean plant and animal enzymes? Good stuff!
Avatar n tn Juice covers a lot -- virtually anything can be juiced if you're doing this yourself. Fruit juices contain a lot of sugar, but can also be powerful antioxidants, but vegetable juices can be very valuable. Wheatgrass juice is great. So this depends on what you mean by nutritional juices. Most important, avoid anything that's not organic. When you juice anything, you use a lot of it, and that enhances the amount of harmful chemicals that exist on whatever you're juicing.
Avatar f tn At 15, your body is not fully developed, so crash/fad diets are the worst thing you can do. You simply have to eat healthy - plenty of veggies, lean protein, etc. You should ask to have your thyroid tested to make sure it's working properly. Iron is necessary for proper thyroid function and your thyroid controls metabolism. If you're deficient in iron, you may also be deficient in thyroid hormones. Are you making sure you're getting adequate exercise?
13506701 tn?1430255793 I was wondering if anyone had tried a week of juicing to help with losing weight and just over all detoxing the body? My diet is good but there is always room for improvement! i struggle with losing weight purely beacuse its an on going battle and i lose motivation! I have ordered the Lose 7lB in 7 Days juicing detox book.
Avatar m tn I just got an expensive juicer and started juicing last week. However, I am not sure if the raw veggie juicing is a healthy choice for our injured & damaged liver. I saw someone suggested to steam it instead of eating raw. Please kindly comment. Currently the list of veggies I used for juicing are: Garlic Onion broccoli Beetroot cucumber lemons Apples pears grapes celery carrots Ginger Green leafs (all kinds, like cabbage, kale, Lettuce, etc) Another related question.
