I have swollen gland on my left hand side of my throat, I have no tonsils, but when it really gets really swollen I find it very hard to breath and swallow, please help.

hi, i got a sore throat about 2 months ago, the doctor diagnosed tonsilitis, and put me on calvepen, this got rid of the fever symptons but my glands stayed swollen an my throat stayed red, when the fever came back a few weeks later i went back and he put me on augmenten, this had the same effect i went back last week and was put back on calvepen and he did a mono test which came back negative, but said my white blood cell count was high and it looked like i was at the tale end of a virus, somed

Over the course of the day my symptoms worsened, I had a severly sore throat, swollen glands, headache, all of my joints ached but mot my muscles and had no fever. The next day I saw my family doctor. He tested for strep, (test was negative). He said my lungs sounded good, no sinus problems and blood pressure was fine. Said he had no idea what it was. I was instructed to take Ibuprofen and chloriseptic spray for thoat to help with pain.

old was seen today for a fever and sore throat complaint. the ped. said she has a throat infection and swollen glands and prescribed meds. she did check other areas of her body for glands (at least that is what i think she was feeling for). about 7 weeks ago she had the same thing (tho the whole family passed around a fever/infection). should we be overly concerned that she has been sick like this twice in two months? what would be the tell tale signs of leukemia or lymphoma in a child?

Today, I went to see the doctor, he confirmed the swollen glands. And he also found I have sore throat, I dont feel anything about it. All the swollen glands cannot be seen by appearance. I dont have fever, no diarrhea, no weight loss. I also did the normal blood test, which showed WBC, RBC and all others are good. I am still concered abou HIV infection. I am wondering the risk of being infected by HIV. Meanwhile, if I go to test on Monday, which means only 7 weeks after the exposure.

Symptoms included sore throat, swollen tonsils, neck muscle aches, swollen glands, low grade fever. (99.9) and discharge in the back of throat. Sore throat started to go away after about 3 days of treatment. On the west coast gonorrhea is treated with cephalosporins and Doxy for chlamydia at the same time. After the 10th day of treatment, I was noticing that the sore throat returned, and my low grade fever still persists. A white discharge is constantly seen at the back of the throat.

About a week ago I got sick. Swollen glands, sore throat. May be a cold type virus, GP prescribed antibiotics. I suffer from anxiety and as part of that I am constantly paranoid I'm going to get throat infections. Though a few years of inspection, I've learned I can force a lot of my throat out to be displayed. I can see behind my tonsils, and It looks purple. There are also white patches and I get a lot of lumps on my tonsils. I went to the doctors and the doctor told me I had normal tonsils for a 23 year old, but I disagree. Does anyone else inspect their throat? What can they see?

Hello and hope you are doing well. Your symptoms could be due to a post nasal drip. This could build up during the course of the day irritating the throat. The post nasal drip could be due to a sinus infection, a cold or a chronic allergy. It could be sinusitis, if it is accompanied by nasal stuffiness and facial pain or pressure. Post nasal drip could also be due to allergens. These are substances like pollen, dust, animal dander, certain foods, insect venoms and certain medications.

I took him to the doc and she did a strep test that came back negative. Now Nov.1st he is complaining of a sore throat and his glands are swollen again a very painful to touch with no other signs of infection. He is only 11 years old now but I want to know what is causing his glands to constently swell? Should I take him to see a ENT?

But but swollen glands still there and I took some other medicine to try get rid of it which apperantly didnt help, until now it is march my swollen glands and ocassional sore throat is still there but no fever and other hiv sympthom but rashes sometimes and even small tiny white dot on my lips which might be quite common. Have you had your throat checked for a strep infection? You could also perhaps have mono if you had a sore throat, swollen glands and high fever, fatigue etc. A lot of things will cause high ESR and swollen glands. What other symptoms do you have?

As I was sweeping it I must have breathed some in. Since then this is two months I have had problem with swollen uvula in the throat, hoarsness and some wheezing on exhale, also swollen glands in the neck and burning pain in the neck area.
