Avatar f tn It has now been a month that my neck glands and my throat glands have been swollen steady. It is not sore, the only pain I feel is when they start to grow bigger, when ever i'm chewing and swallowing it will feel like a pinch sometimes, but not always. I went to my doctor early this week, but he's not sure whether to put my on antibotics for 2 weeks or not because he thinks it could either make it better or make me feel worse.
Avatar f tn I initially thought it was a knot in my muscle, but now I have swollen neck glands with no sore throat.
Avatar m tn Have you had your throat checked for a strep infection? You could also perhaps have mono if you had a sore throat, swollen glands and high fever, fatigue etc. A lot of things will cause high ESR and swollen glands. What other symptoms do you have?
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm new to all this posting so excuse me if it doesn't make sense, I'm a 28yr old female and I've been suffering from swollen glands which is tender and slightly painful sometimes but not all the time in my neck for over a month now, but also my jaw and ears and behind my ears but no sore throat my doctor is sending me for blood tests but also advised me to see a dentist, I'm starting to worry it could something serious as I like to panic And over think think things since
Avatar m tn i assume swollen glands in the neck means inflamed lymph nodes? our 6 yr. old was seen today for a fever and sore throat complaint. the ped. said she has a throat infection and swollen glands and prescribed meds. she did check other areas of her body for glands (at least that is what i think she was feeling for). about 7 weeks ago she had the same thing (tho the whole family passed around a fever/infection). should we be overly concerned that she has been sick like this twice in two months?
Avatar n tn i have an ear ache going back six weeks, it shifts between the left and right ear and also my left side of the neck is swollen and is hard to swallow sometimes and even though my tonssils look normal but tightnes in the neck and some times in the throat and jaws continue. my left ear has constant burning pain. i've been on cefaxicillin and augmentin. it gets better when i take a dose other wise goes back to being sore tight and painful.
Avatar n tn The prednisone helped my swollen tonsils, but the glands in my neck keep getting worse. No ibuprofen helps the pain of it, which is causing me a lack of sleep. Is there anything else I have possibly overlooked? I'm not exhausted all the time at all. my entire neck is killing me and behind my ears and head, occasionaly my jaw and armpits too. The headaches are barely managable and I am not sure what else it could be.
Avatar m tn Hello. I'm becoming increasingly worried about swollen glands in my neck. The swelling is located on either side of my neck, roughly half an inch below the mastoid process (these might be the upper cervical lymph nodes but I'm not sure). They can't be seen, but when I feel my neck they feel hard. I've had them now for about three weeks. My only other symptoms: a slight sore throat that comes and goes, and a very infrequent cough.
Avatar n tn I now am experiencing a feeling of a lump in my throat when I swallow and the front of my neck seems swollen or enlarged. It is very difficult to swallow if my head is even slightly titled up. What could be causing this?
Avatar f tn Hi :) I have a strange situation. About 2 weeks ago I noticed I had swollen gland on the back of my neck I believe it is the cervical gland. It doesn't hurt it is just strange. I did have the doctor feel it and he said it was fine. Okay around the same time that I noticed the glands, I was eating dorito's and I accidently swallowed a piece that got stuck in my throat.
1548905 tn?1303331009 These days, I found pain swollen glands in my neck, behind my ear and under groin. Today, I went to see the doctor, he confirmed the swollen glands. And he also found I have sore throat, I dont feel anything about it. All the swollen glands cannot be seen by appearance. I dont have fever, no diarrhea, no weight loss. I also did the normal blood test, which showed WBC, RBC and all others are good. I am still concered abou HIV infection. I am wondering the risk of being infected by HIV.
Avatar m tn have you ever had your thyroid levels checked. When I got my thyroid removed it was because the glands in my throat had gotten swollen to the point I could hardly swallow. I hope you find out whats going on and that's its nothing really bad.
Avatar m tn The glands in my neck (under my jaw) have been swollen for about 4 months now. They have never really hurt. But i've been getting sick (mainly just symptoms of a cold. Runny nose, post nasal drip or a headache a few times. And once i had a sore throat) off and on the whole time. Though, when i do get better i still have mucus that i'm hawking up throughout the day (its usually clear or bright yellow).
Avatar m tn Hello, Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. A week ago I have unprotected oral sex with a man. He did not ejaculate in my mouth. The very next morning I felt a "tightnes" in my upper neck. The tightness has been persistent ever since. I've looked in the mirror, but can not tell if anything is swollen. If I had to give a yes or no answer to any swelling I would have to say yes. I've read that early symptoms of HIV are swollen glands in the throat.
Avatar m tn The day the first symptom started was a red tingling throat, which was hardly noticable. No glands were swollen until about 5-6 days later. It started under my chin and jaw. Then 2 days later they were on the back of my neck and underneath my arm pits(same day). My whole neck on the sides was swollen, but it didnt feel like lymph nodes. Other places felt like lymph nodes on my neck. The ones on my neck and underarms were small but there were many. These are the only symptoms no rash, no fever.
Avatar m tn My glands in my neck (just under jaw bone and down side of neck) have had a dull ache for the last week or so. i havent acquired a sore throat and feel fine in myself although sometime have had headaches as well. Today the right side of my groin has started a dull ache as well...could these be connected due to the glands in the areas... no other glands appear to aching (armpit and stomach) I have just been taking ibuprofen for the time being.
Avatar m tn Thanks for the help to date. Still underarm pain, 5 weeks since it started. Would HIV related gland swelling be more generalised? Ie wouldn't it be likely to have swollen glands in his neck and groin as well as arms? Are lymph nodes usually detectable by touch? Sight? We cannot feel any individual 'nodes' just a general noticable swelling and pain beneath the arms. There have been no other symptoms that we can think of.
Avatar f tn Since then this is two months I have had problem with swollen uvula in the throat, hoarsness and some wheezing on exhale, also swollen glands in the neck and burning pain in the neck area. I also have itchy forehead, with little rash. I am tired and worn out most of the time. Could this be some allergy or virus? I went to ENT today and he never said much, only that he wants me to have allergy tests done. It bothers me a lot lately!
Avatar m tn Okay, been a while since I posted. I have been on a roller coaster ride the last 3, almost 4 months. I have recently been seeing an ENT about my swollen glands. As of the last visit, I had another CT of my sinuses and still have a little bit of sinus infection and over 25 pollyps in my sinus cavity that he said are caused by allergies. He said this will definitely cause the glands to swell. Since my last visit a couple weeks ago he put me on Cipro and Prednisone, again.
Avatar m tn N swollen glass or anything like that.
Avatar f tn My issue is that the 2 glands on the sides of my throat are swollen, the one inside my chin is swollen, something small and round below my left ear is swollen and something on the outside of my right ear is also swollen. I do not have a fever and I have not vomited at all, which is symptoms of most disorders that have to do with swollen nodes. They do hurt and actually the one below my left ear itches.
