168348 tn?1379357075 I actually skipped my Synthroid completely today and feel fine .......I will take my Lev. later tonight and let you know if it happens again ... I only have 2more to take .. was on a 7 day dose for this UTI and under care of great Uro, too ... I will take my Synthroid as scheduled tomorrow and not mess with dosing ... just my anger taking over on prev. post.
Avatar f tn I agree the dye in the synthroid is causing those rash. Right now I am taking the 100mcg synthroid and I'm breaking out with hives everyday all over my body. Thanks to a former dr I called and he told me to have dr change the 100mcg to the 50mcg because it has no dye which is causing a allergic reaction.
565646 tn?1216814548 i have no other med isssues other than being hypo. but i will call the Dr today and get and appt. i have been on Synthroid for almost a week now. i don't look puffy to me at all who knows. last night wasn't so bad since i didn't drink anything after 7pm but man i woke up so thristy too.
379229 tn?1208639419 This week I had a UTI, and they put me on Nitrofur, and I was put on Premarin and a new brand of synthroid. I have had muscle aches, twitching and numbness and tingling in the legs, and sometimes arms and then two days ago, the weirdest foggiest feeling in my head. Flu like symptoms, and lack of sleep. And I have been kind of anxious and depressed. And I am not normally that way. I stopped the Premarin on Wed, and the Nitrofur on Thursday. Am wondering now about the synthroid.
168348 tn?1379357075 All things are the same and I believe my UTI infection is completely gone and so is whatever stone activity was going on the past 10 days with flank pain, etc. Unless this is residual from 10days of mild colic type pain ??? feeling no energy. OR can this be from the Vit D stuff going on which brought me to the doc in the first place .. on the Vit D supplment now for 10 days. How long did you guys see for the Vit D to perk things up ..
Avatar n tn I stopped getting the fevers for now but some times the skin around my neck is tender like my nodes are still swollen. Currently my tsh is 3.0 im on 100mcg of synthroid and I still feel so tired and achy all the time. I asked my doctor to do a ANA which he said came back normal. I am going to an endocrinologist but I wanted a second opinion about all this because I just want to feel normal again.. I feel like my tsh could be somewhat lower, then i might get some of the energy I used to have.
Avatar n tn Is there anything I should know about how to take my Synthroid, 75 mcg and Zoloft, 150? I would like to know if I should take them separately and if so, how many hours apart?
Avatar f tn They also did the 3 hr glucose test and found that I had gestational diabetes, and later tested my TSH level and found it to be very high so they upped my synthroid level. I have been in the hospital ever since and will be 29 weeks along this Wednesday. We are just praying that the procardia continues to keep the contractions at bay, and that I can carry the boys as long as possible.
Avatar m tn I am on Armour and I am one of the ones who didn't benefit from Synthroid - you are very lucky your found Synthroid to work best for you - it is the thyroid drug of choice and many doctors will not continue Armour if you need to change to someone else. Go back to what works - and the question is still ot there - Why did you try it if Synthroid was working?
Avatar f tn I am 28 yo female, I had my thyroid removed 10 years ago due to non cancerous nodules growing on it. I've been on synthroid since I was 11 yo. Everything was fine until I went off birth control pills. All of a sudden I had a hard time tolerating my 137 mcg dose of synthroid. I switched to armour thyroid, but couldn't tolerate any more than 60 mg. I felt great on just 60 mg, however my TSH shot up from 1 to almost 8.
Avatar m tn Good morning. My 77 y/o mother in law has very recently been admitted with signs of possible stroke: acute mental confusion, loss of memory and orientation, slight weakness. After a very complete workup, including labs, CT, MRI, CXR and neuro exam, no stroke has been indicated. MRI showed only normal, expected, age-related changes. Labs were normal except for mild anemia. Dementia appears to be the diagnosis by exclusion.
1070570 tn?1283436213 For those taking synthroid AND cytomel, Please list the dosages you take of each and at what time throughout the day. Also please list any experiences -good or bad- you've had with this combination. Thank you!
Avatar f tn I am strictly taking the cyomtel and was told to stop the Synthroid. Iam so cold and tired, I just want to feel normal, it is affecting my life!! 37 years old with two children and also was diagnosed with endometrosis (not sure If that makes any difference). Please help!!
Avatar n tn I had this cough since 1989 when I started on synthroid and can't figure it out. I was wondering if it could be the synthroid. I just typed this site in and I am surprised and now do believe it can be the synthroid. No one can figure out the cough. Did anyone ever figure it out if the cough is from the synthroid???
1070570 tn?1283436213 have been told I have a conversion issue due to a high RT3 level in April (352)- don't convert T4 to T3 optimally, instead it converts to RT3 which cancels out the T3 that's trying to get into my cells. That's why I was wondering if increasing the synthroid was just gonna increase my RT3 and make me feel worse.
Avatar m tn Hi...I am on Nexium and synthroid....can I take them together in the morning and hour before breakfast? I am supposed to take them both in AM. Thanks....
Avatar n tn And, on top of everything else, I feel like crap. Even though my synthroid levels are normal. My muscles and bones ache, and I am weak and tired all the time.
1102845 tn?1285493058 The only thyroid option is to consider combined T4 (synthroid) and T3 (cytomel) - in this case reducing synthroid to 75 and adding 5mcg of cytomel in the am along w/ the synthroid.
Avatar n tn I did email them about the bleeding and they said it could be Synthroid and told me to take a 1/2 dose, which I have, but nothing has changed. I really don't think it's Synthroid as everything I have read says that it takes a while for Synthroid to start "helping" and it takes a few months for it to affect your menstrual cycle, so I really wouldn't suspect it to make any difference less than a week after starting it. Anybody has any ideas? Thanks.
200220 tn?1361951554 It was my psychiatrist that told me to do this. He also put me on the gingko, and fish oil. I am trying the split synthroid. I take it 7 and 2. I don't know why he did that . He is the one who put me on the synthroid in the first place. I was on the generic and he changed it and it was like night and day for me. I do trust him as he has helped me more than my endo. He seems to know alot about thryoid and mental stuff.
Avatar f tn I have a good friend who takes metformin with synthroid, but he's diabetic and needs it. He's lost a ton of weight which makes me ssoo jealous, but I'm not diabetic so it won't be good for me - besides my doctor would never prescribe it for me.
Avatar n tn Thanks for your comment...I'm new to this sight and hypo...and I've been reading for two days and decided to come out!!!!!!
Avatar n tn I asked my Doctor and he said that as coffee is liquid and not a digestive food that it wouldnt make any difference and it hasnt. I actually changed my med time to bedtime as I find it easier taking it at night now because of going back to work fulltime. Only difference is I start to feel tired around 7pm ( a few hours before it is due). I dont think coffee makes any difference at all.
