Suboxone while pregnant

Common Questions and Answers about Suboxone while pregnant

suboxone

und-color: #dae8f4'>whatever you do do NOT take Suboxone while you are pregnant. I have a daughter currently in the Hospital that took Suboxone while pregnant and my Grand-baby is now going through severe withdrawal issues and several other medical problems as well that per the Physician that delivered the Baby said were directly related to the Suboxone.
Why do some people say it's ok to take suboxone while pregnant and some same it's really bad? You do work with this drug don't you? I'm only asking because I also called a random suboxone doctor's office recently and a nurse spoke to me and told me it's horrible mainly because of the naloxone and that I should go to a methadone clinic right away because I am harming my baby. I honestly do not feel comfortable taking methadone nor going to the clinic... I'm sorry und-color: #dae8f4'>if I am a bother to you...
I have been taking Suboxone for 3yrs and I am pregnant w/ my 2ND child while on suboxone. I also know of another girl who has had 2 babies while taking suboxone. My 1st child I had while taking suboxone is ABSOLuTELY perfect. He will be 2 in Dec. He weighed 7lbs. and 3 oz @ birth. When I had him, the hospital knew I was on this medication and monitored him just to make sure he was ok and he never showed any signs of WDs.
He didn't seem to know much about suboxone let alone suboxone while pregnant. I let him know I was taking a small dose and he thinks the baby will be fine und-color: #dae8f4'>if I just go through the withdrawals now. Is this okay? I'd rather not take and cause risk of baby being addicted but I don't want to cause miscarriage due to withdrawal. Also, everything i have read seems to be people that have been taking for a longer amount of time and a much larger dosage.
Subutex is exactly the same as Suboxone, but it contains no Naloxone, only buprenorphine. und-color: #dae8f4'>if a women becomes unexpectedly pregnant while taking Suboxone – her doctor will probably recommend that she switch to Subutex, but not switch to methadone or any other form of treatment. Switching after she is already pregnant carries an unacceptable risk of stress on the fetus.
It would be best for both you and the baby to be gently tapered off of Suboxone while you are still pregnant, so that you are both drug free by the time of the delivery and your baby will not need to go through any withdrawals at all. Even though babies have been safely delivered to mothers taking Suboxone and nursed by those mothers while on Suboxone, I still strongly believe, that it would be better for both of you to be drug free at the time of delivery.
Oops I guess occasionally it's prescribed for chronic pain. Still not safe while pregnant though.

I will have to talk with her my next apt. then. I do not want anything to hurt my baby. And I was told that suboxone is OK to take while pregnant. und-color: #dae8f4'>if I would have known that the baby MIGHT go through WD's, then I would have been off it a loooooooooong time ago! I just e mailed my sub doctor and told him that I need to continue my treatment until I feel 100% comfortable getting off. I need to continue to taper down but not so drastically.
Im on suboxone and just found out that im about 7wek pregnant will it hurt my babie und-color: #dae8f4'>if I slowly withdrew my self because my suboxone doctor cut me off without senting me to a subtex clinic and told me und-color: #dae8f4'>if I miss carried they would put me back on the list can they just cut me off like that
Because I myself am pregnant and on subutext I only take an 8th of a 8mg pill so about 2mg, and I'm so worried about the baby having to withdrawal after its born but tbe doctor I see won't let me ween all the way off while pregnant. So I was just wondering how things turned out when you had the baby?

I am 6 months pregnant and have taken a quarter of a suboxone in early stages of pregnancy and have again taken a quarter of a suboxone strip. I am not going to do this again for fear for my baby and the fact that I know it was wrong, but und-color: #dae8f4'>what I would like to know is, und-color: #dae8f4'>if I no longer do this, will it be able to be detected in myself or the baby in any way when she is born? My due date is July 22, 2014. thankyou.
I was on 8 mgs/day, 4mgs in the morning and 4mgs in the evening and that worked great for me. I also didn't have any cravings for pills while on the suboxone, which was great! und-color: #dae8f4'>if you have any questions, feel free to ask me! Good luck!
I lost my mom while I was 9 months pregnant. She died 3 days after finding out she had lung cancer. I stayed strong as I was pregnant. Thats where this starts. 3 weeks after my mother passed I gave birth to my beautund-color: #dae8f4'>iful daughter. I can't believe thats where my addicition to vicodin started. I was given pain meds during my induction. 3 hours after I gave birth the nurse brought me 2 vicodins to help with pain. I was sent home with to RX for Vicodin. Well I took them, was fine when I ran out.
He didn't seem to know much about suboxone let alone suboxone while pregnant. My only problem is whether I should detox from the Suboxone now or just have the baby? I've read alot of things that say withdrawaling while pregnant is very stressful on the fetus and that detox for infants is not that bad and only a few days. But I am very confused and losing sleep over this! I did ask my doctor this and she said it was up to me...I also asked her about the withdrawal in the baby and she said the baby will just be sleepy for a few days!!!
Do not take Suboxone und-color: #dae8f4'>if you are pregnant or could become pregnant during treatment. Suboxone passes into breast milk and may be harmful to a nursing baby. Do not take this medication und-color: #dae8f4'>if you are breast-feeding a baby.
und-color: #dae8f4'>if so, und-color: #dae8f4'>what do they have to say about taking subs while pregnant? I don't know a lot about it, but I have heard that Methadone seems to be the preferred maintenance drug during pregnancy. That doesn't necessarily mean it's right for you though.
Im on suboxone im about 12 weeks pregnant how do i go about getting off the withdrawls off suboxone is worse than everything else is subutex better being pregnant i want to get totally off 2years ago i lost my daughter at 28 weeks it had nothing to do with using my water was broke at 2months due to stress from the affair my husband was having.
I have read things about women taking Suboxone while being pregnant and their babies are perfectly healthy, but on the other hand I have heard that the babies go through withdrawals at times too. I have also read that und-color: #dae8f4'>if I"m just cut off of the Suboxone cold turkey without being tappered off of it that it could cause a miscarraige.
Hi everyone! This is the first time I've posted a question on here, & am hoping that some of you have experience with being on suboxone & pregnant. I went to treatment in June for 8 years of IV heroin addiction. while there I was put on Suboxone, mainly because I had been to treatment 17 times before & relapsed immediately, so everybody agreed that it would be a good idea for me to get some clean time together & then ween off.
