suboxone

558096 tn?1255887002 Whatever you do do NOT take Suboxone while you are pregnant. I have a daughter currently in the Hospital that took Suboxone while pregnant and my Grand-baby is now going through severe withdrawal issues and several other medical problems as well that per the Physician that delivered the Baby said were directly related to the Suboxone.
Avatar n tn Julia, I actually haven't had health insurance for a while now...so I have been getting the suboxone from a friend. I know it's wrong but I feel it was better than self medicating with pain pills! I am nervous about telling my doctor... I know I should but I just don't want any problems because of my mistakes... I would like to get off suboxone without harming the baby. I know withdrawls are not good for the baby either so I really just don't know what to do...
Avatar f tn Everyone i have ever talked to about it never really knew anyone on it while pregnant,or heard of any side effects, on the baby. I am starting to get cravings for other stuff that i used to be on and dont know what to do. The suboxone is starting to make me sick like nauseated and real agervated. I CANT REALLY STAND THE TASTE OF IT ANYMORE. I have my obgyn here where i live, but my sub doctor is in another town. I havent really told my obgyn about the suboxone but i know that i need to soon.
861995 tn?1239174691 I have been unsuccessful and will be starting IVF so after doing a lot of research I decided I did not want to be on the subutex while pregnant. So I detoxed from subutex almost 2 months ago. My doctor told me it would be mild, since I was on a low dose and that I could wait until I was pregnant to stop. The problem is, there was nothing mild about it. I am not telling you this to scare you but just to share my experience.
Avatar f tn I am 15 weeks pregnant. I was taking suboxone for about a year. I had the 8ml strips but I would cut and only take a quarter so probably 2ml. Once I found out I was pregnant, I cut the strips into smaller pieces and 1 strip would last me about a week. Yesterday was my first day not taking it and I let my OBGYN know I was taking and my concerns about stopping. Everything I have read so far suggests that I shouldn't stop taking because the baby would go through withdrawals as well.
Avatar m tn I became pregnant while on suboxone. It was not a planned pregnancy and I should have been more careful. My daughter has a 50/50 chance of withdrawing after birth. If she shows signs of wd they will have to keep her in the hospital to ween her off the meds. That is no way to start a life. I pray every day that my daughter is born healthy and will be able to come home with me. Tell her to seriously reconsider getting pregnant while on subs.
Avatar f tn Can you quit suboxone cold turkey while pregnant? Anyone done this? I am 7 months pregnant and on 16mg sometimes less.
Avatar f tn If you become pregnant while taking SUBOXONE, alert your doctor immediately as there may be significant risks to you and your baby; your baby may have symptoms of withdrawal at birth. If you are pregnant or become pregnant while taking SUBOXONE, you should report it using the contact information provided below.* Before taking SUBOXONE, talk to your doctor if you are breast-feeding or plan to breast-feed. SUBOXONE can pass into your milk and may harm the baby.
6378426 tn?1380766766 m surprised they have you on Suboxone and not Subutex (Suboxone contains buprenorphine and Naloxone. Because Naloxone can sometimes cause symptoms of opiate withdrawal, which could cause miscarriage, pregnant women are normally advised to take Subutex - exactly the same as Suboxone, but without Naloxone, instead.) Either way, at present, Buprenorphine is listed as a category C drug for use during pregnancy.
Avatar n tn s ok with snorting that crap while pregnant.. She needs to take the methadone to avoid withdraw and I understand this is hard but it's safer that way.
3177469 tn?1344454268 Suboxone has naloxone/naltrexone in it, while subutex does not. That drug is not liver friendly, so that is likely the reason. Docs should give Siubutex, but theyt have some idea that adding a drug that precipitates withdrawl if you use will discourage relapse. You may want to discuss getting Subutex with your doc. As far as I know, Bupe is not a good option for HCv positive people. I have been a patient advocate for opioid dependant people for over 10yrs.
Avatar f tn I feel for you. In 2009, I got pregnant while being prescribed 16 mg's of Suboxone daily. I informed my addiction physician of my pregnancy, he then prescribed me 16 mg's of Subutex, instead of the Suboxone, while I pregnant. Some days, I'd take a bit more than I was supposed to. It killed me my entire pregnancy knowing my innocent baby girl was being put through this, because her Momma was/is a complete loser..... I gave birth to my beautiful little peanut on January 22, 2010.
Avatar f tn I am 7 months pregnant, and am ready and would like to quit the suboxone cold turkey. Will it affect the baby? Good or bad Idea? I am on 16mg a day most days 8. Thanks.
Avatar f tn It would be best for both you and the baby to be gently tapered off of Suboxone while you are still pregnant, so that you are both drug free by the time of the delivery and your baby will not need to go through any withdrawals at all. Even though babies have been safely delivered to mothers taking Suboxone and nursed by those mothers while on Suboxone, I still strongly believe, that it would be better for both of you to be drug free at the time of delivery.
Avatar n tn I don't think saboxen is safe to take whiel pregnant.
Avatar f tn I have read things about women taking Suboxone while being pregnant and their babies are perfectly healthy, but on the other hand I have heard that the babies go through withdrawals at times too. I have also read that if I"m just cut off of the Suboxone cold turkey without being tappered off of it that it could cause a miscarraige.
Avatar f tn m really scared I was detoxing 2 mg a week before I got pregnant but I had to stop when I found out I was pregnant I have a really good doctor who is a Methadone doc and my OBGYN but he is so busy I can't always ask him questions when I want. Please help I'm really scared of my baby having withdrawals again it was horrible seeing my child in agony I don't want to go through it again.
Avatar f tn Do not take Suboxone if you are pregnant or could become pregnant during treatment. Suboxone passes into breast milk and may be harmful to a nursing baby. Do not take this medication if you are breast-feeding a baby.
Avatar f tn You need to go see a sub doctor or baby doctor now, to find out if any damage has been done to bubby from pill use while pregnant. Using pills while pregnant, as you know, is not good for the baby. It can lead to long term side effects after bubby is born. I was taking 32mg daily while pregnant from my sub doctor who has a sub clinic and is very experienced in this field and he never ever recommends any pregnant woman ever try to detox, it will not help the baby at all.
Avatar f tn I recently found out that I am pregnant. I am 6 weeks pregnant and both my suboxone dr and my obgyn dr know I am on Suboxone. I can't withdrawal from the medication now that I am pregnant because the drs say that it will cause the baby to also go through withdrawal and will most likely cause a miscarriage. I was wondering if anyone has any input? Has anyone else had a child while on Suboxone or knows of someone who has? Did the baby go through withdrawal after birth?
Avatar n tn I had been on suboxone for a year and got pregnant my doctor lowered my dose but did not switch to subutex wich does not contain the naloxone that the suboxone has in it I have read that it can be dangerous and was wondering if any one could tell me anything about it
1428440 tn?1287390379 I have been on suboxone for a little over 3 weeks. Last night while I was laying in bed, which is what I do most of the time because I haven't slept well since off vics, soma and more. But in the middle of the night I sort of felt sick. Really xtra tired, upset stomach, just a general blah feeling like maybe you are going to get sick. Is it possible to have a withdraw while on suboxone. I have been clean almost 5 months and while I was still feeling dope sick, I decided to use suboxone.
