Avatar n tn He told me not to worry I am not at risk for a heart attack. The stress test was preformed 1 week ago and he called and wanted to schedule a heart cath. I refused to schedule any further procedures with him. The stress test images demonstrated the presence of a mixed though largely redistributed perfusion defect in the inferolateral segments. The impression was: abnormal dual-isotope stress test with evidence on anterolateral ischemia and small anterior scar.
Avatar n tn How dangerious is a Thalium Stress Test and what are the possible side effects. This discussion is related to <a href='/posts/show/872466'>treadmill vs. thallium stress test</a>.
Avatar n tn nuclear cardiac stress SPECTimmediate images reveal diminished isotope uptake involving the anterior and apical walls. delayed images reveal normal isotope uptake. Calculated ejection fraction is 70%. There are no segmental wall motion abnormalities at rest. Does this mean I have blockages?
Avatar n tn I had a gated stress test and the report states: myoview stress test: stress and resting spec views of heart were obtained in vertical long axis, horizontal long axis and in short axis projection. There is uniform distribution of isotope throughout the myocardium following stress. Resting scan reveals similar findings. No reversible changes are noted. Ejection fraction measures 69%. All of that sounds ok then primary diagnostic code is minor abnormality! What is abnormal?
Avatar m tn My father 64 yrs went through a Thallium Stress test. His report reads the following, Could some one help me understand what it really means. He has had not heart ailments so far. He is Hypertensive and diabetic and takes regular medicines and is very strict with his diet and exercises daily. The report Stress Isotope myocardial perfusion scintigraphy done following i/v injection of 300 MBq at rest and 900 MBq of Tc99m Sesta-MIBI at Bruce. Mr. U.D. carried out exercise for 10:30 mins.
Avatar m tn I just got a stress test because of some pains I had in my chest. On a followup appointment with my cardiologist, he indicated that my test results were normal. In fact, the first pages summary of my results looked ok. Here are conclusions: 1. Normal exercise dual-isotope myocaridal perfusion study. 2. Normal gated SPECT left vetricular wall motion study. 3. Normal gated SPECT left ventricular ejection fraction. 4. Negative exercise electrocardiogram. 5. Moderate exercise tolerance. 6.
Avatar f tn I have been instructed not to consume caffeine 24 hours prior to my cardiolite stress test, and to fast the morning of the test. I understand that caffeine affects the heart, and so will avoid caffeine even though it means a headache. It is very difficult for me to fast. Although I am healthy, I am used to eating something every 2-3 hours. When I do not, I feel lightheaded and weak and miserable, and cannot imagine getting on a treadmill.
Avatar m tn I recently had a nuclear stress test with imaging and while recovering and resting on the the table my HR was coming down from 180 during Bruce level 5 to 110 and that is when my symptoms appeared. I started having PVC's here and there then bigeminy, trigeminy, couplets and as many as four to five PVC's in a row. Of course I could feel them and this lasted for 10 minutes. No intervention done at the time. No change in BP either.
Avatar m tn thallium stress test Report.. Please Tell me the conclusion of Report ? do I need angiography ? Dipyridamole myoview spect myocardial perfusion study Age / Sex : 65/M Indication: HTN, DM, ? IHD Isotope : 7mCi of Tc-99m Myoview at peak stress 21mCi of Tc-99m Myoview at rest Persantin Infusion Stress: Pharmacological Intervention was performed with injection persantin (Dipyridamole) at a rate of 0.142 mg/kg/min, 07 Mci of Tc-99m Myoview was given I/V. His resting ECG showed 0.
Avatar m tn Pointman, I had a thallium stress test last week and there was no blood testing that preceded the test to determine if I was able to take it. If we're talking about the same test, they put an IV in you, inject you with thallium, put you under a gamma camera so they can take pictures of your heart at rest. Then you go to the treadmill where they get you up to a defined heart rate, inject you with more thallium, and it's back under the camera.
1016145 tn?1253498064 There are many names for this same thing. Nuclear perfusion test, nuclear stress test, thallium stress test, thallium scan etc etc. Maybe they should standardise on the name to make it less confusing.
Avatar f tn I did part one of my stress test this morning and after the exercise was taken over and had the isotope scan. Then I was taken into the echo-cardiogram room, but then the person asked if I had a echo recently because I was not on her schedule. I said yes on Dec 6 this year (3 weeks ago) She said that is why that the doctor would just use that report. I was hoping to have one so that they could compare the one on Dec 6 so that they would have more data to compare.
486822 tn?1208800499 Could you help me understand my stress test findings? I am scheduled for a heart catherization due to these findings. I'm am a 45 year old female with obesity and Graves Disease. Exercised for 6 minutes and 30 seconds of a Bruce Protocol. Heart rate increased to 151 which was 86% of her perdicted maximal heart rate. Blood pressure was 124/92 at baseline and peaked at 160/78. Had slight chest discomfort during exercise which resolved with rest.
Avatar f tn I had a single-isotope Spect myocardial perfusion study with a wall motion/ejection fraction test and the findings where that I have transmural ischemic lesion involving the lower septal segment. What does this all mean and what should I do now? Are there other test that I need to have done to see what exctaly this means or to check it out. I am really worried about this and would like to know what should I do now?
Avatar n tn I had a cardiologist tell me that stress test on women is harder to read because of breast matter or tissue. Is this true?
Avatar m tn A nuclear scan is pretty much useless on its own. What it does is aim at the heart muscle rather than the arteries. An area of heart muscle can look great but may be fed by collaterals with your native arteries being a real mess. I have a nuclear scan which showed the heart of an athlete. I had 2 blocked native arteries and lots of collaterals, but my angina was awful. I'm just wondering if you've ever had a lung function test?
Avatar m tn I just left the doctors office they told me I have ejection fraction of 40% no blockage when doing a stress test with radiation isotope and also a cat scan.
Avatar f tn I recently had a Thallium stress test which came back positive. The sets of images were taken by two different techs while I sat upright in a chair. Not wanting to believe the worst, I went to another Cardiologist. There I had the Cardiolite test, images taken by the same tech while I lay on a table. Those results came back negative. So who is right? Would having a calcium-score CT and perhaps a carotid ultrasound be the tie-breaker? I am 55 years old, post menopausal.
Avatar n tn By comparing the rest and stress perfusion images from the stress test, you can see if the walls of the heart are filling in adequately. Good luck with everything.
Avatar m tn The cardiologist explained from what he saw on the EKG that the bottom of the heart was not pumping as hard/fast as the upper part of the heart. He ordered a stress test and a test where they injected a radioactive isotope into me and took lots of pictures before, during and after stress on a treadmill. The doctor again told me (at the visit to get the results) the same exact thing...but then proposed another test...a VERY expensive test..., which I am sure will tell him the same thing.
