Stress headache on top of head

Common Questions and Answers about Stress headache on top of head

stress

I have a headache on the top of my head but only when I push on it! I have seen two doctors, the one doctor couldn't find anything and the other thought I was crazy! It doesn't hurt unless I push on it and it actually went away last week but came back this week! I am thinking maybe it was stress. Are there nerves around the skull or anything cause I don't think it's my brain! It's scary though! How are your headaches doing?
I don't know what area of topics to put my question under. The top of my head hurts and it feels better when I rub it. I haven't hit it on anything to make it sore or hurt. My scalp looks normal and I don't have a bump or cut on my head. My hair has been thining in the area that has started to hurt/tingle. I think the hair thining is due to me just having a child. But I have no Idea what sore spot is from?
It came out of on nowhere 2 months ago i was working away at my desk and i felt this pressure kind of feeling on top of my head in that one tiny spot top left of my head its like the size of a quarter. It has been on and off every day for two months sometimes it hurts but only for a second and the pain isnt severe but i notice its there and its annoying and due to my anxiety problems you can guess what goes through my mind>Any comments are greatly appreciated thank you.

Migraine headaches may cause throbbing, pulsating type of headache which may start on one side of head. There may be associated nausea and vision problems. Conditions like temporal arteritis can also produce severe throbbing headache, nausea, vision problems etc.Sometimes serious conditions like meningitis, encephalitis, brain tumor, arteriovenous malformation, brain aneurysm and high blood pressure can cause these symptoms. Take adequate rest and sleep for at least 7-8 hours daily.
) After the severe headache from the Meningitis went away, I was left with a feeling of wearing a hat on top of my head. This feeling lasted about 4 - 6 weeks. I have since had the same feeling intermittently, lasting anywhere from several days to several weeks each time. I have also developed high blood pressure since the Meningitis. I thought that maybe these headaches were from the high blood pressure, but they are still present when my pressure is normal (on medication).
Hello I've been having these weird feelings on top of my head that are throbbing but not painful. I'm very healthy, I haven't excercised in a while but recently I had anxiety attacks and panic attacks. I also get this weird feeling in the back of my neck or head. I can't really describe it clearly but it feels like sore but not constantly. It only happens during at night but I don't know the cause of such a feeling. Lately I've been sleeping on my family couch for about a week and a half.
Hello, There are several causes of throbbing sharp pains on the left top side of head. Tension headaches, migraine, cluster headaches, stress all can lead to severe throbbing pain in the head. In temporal arteritis there is inflammation of blood vessels which bring blood to the head. In temporal arteritis along with throbbing headache there is jaw pain, fatigue, weakness and vision problems.
hi, for the past 2 weeks ive been having a feeling of pressure on top of my head (i posted previously). it was not really a pain like a headache, just pressure and just on top of the head, not really all over. i had a cat scan done w/o contrast that was interpreted as normal. My question is, can a cat scan determine the presence of unruptured anuerysms? because im really worried about that and tumors since this started. Also, i do have anxiety disorder which i take xanax .5 mg 2x daily.
I dont want to do either one, but I also dont want to look like a bulldog on the top of my head either. My wrinkles start at the crown of my head and go to the front. I have four distinct wrinkles/lines. Maybe we are all smart people. :) I am a teacher. I did have dandruff fairly bad before realizing I had this condition. I had no dandruff before I noticed it. I used some type of T-Gel. It was a dark brown color and had an unusual smell. Not a pleasant smell.
Hello- I discovered an indention on the top of my head over the summer. I blew it off for awhile and then thought maybe I should go to the doctor. I was really upset when I left his office. He made it sound like I too have had it forever, I find it hard to believe that for 31 years I have never noticed it before now. One thing I have noticed is that when I put my sunglasses up on my head when I don't want to wear them, the indention gets deeper???
For about 2 weeks now when I push on the top of my head, I get a headache. Once I release the pressure, I am fine. And I can shake my head around and it doesn't hurt. It only hurts when I push down on the right top part. I am thinking maybe this is sue to stress because I am dealing with a lot of stress right now at work. I am going to call the doctor tomorrow. Has this ever happened to anyone else before?
Hi, I know that I have a sinus infection however I have never had a headache like this. For the past 2 days I have been getting a sharp pain on the top of my head it last for about 5 min and then comes back. After the pain is gone it leaves a dull headache behind. Is this something that I should be worried about or could it be a part of the sinus infection? I have been on medication for 4 days for my infection.
i had a pain on my head from 9 month not headache like i have been hit by a hammer on my head and many anxiety symptoms (hard breathing, fast heart beats and shaking) as i was facing very bad problems all of these symptoms disappeared from 5 month but a constant headache that doesn't go away came to me hence the headache is always different sometimes on the top of my head and some time migraine and i tried all pain killers and doesn't go .can 1. can that headache be from anxiety? 2.
i have a really bad headache in the middle of my head toward the back and its getting worser when i eat and when i talk
I've been on oxycontin(sustained release oxycodone) for 2 yrs due to my arthritis disease. I've added Percoset on top of it and increased my dose due to the headache pain. I've actually tapered up and down and gotten off narcotic pain meds a few times. It's really not bad at all, if you taper the dose down slowly.
For the past 3 years I have also been suffering from a pain on the left side of my head. It first started out as a tingling snsation at the top which was getting worse. I went to a neurologist who recommended nerve blocks. I took two at the base of my head just behind the left ear, however that did not help much.
I have had pain on the top of my head for the past 4 days. It seems to be nerve pain from the intensity of the pain, and the frequency, it occurs every 7to 10 seconds unless I take a pain killer. Any clues?
Can stress and tension cause burning and pain on top of head. I have had headaches before, butter never this sensation so was wondering if that could be the cause since blood work and CT scan came back normal?
For the past 2 weeks I get this throbbing pain on the top of my head on the right side at the same time every night. The pain is always in the same exact spot. The pain lasts for a few seconds, subsides and then comes and goes until I fall asleep. It happens around 10 pm every night. It never happens during the day or when I am exercising. I am scared of an aneurysm or tumor, but I had a brain MRI last april and a cat scan a year ago, both of which were normal.
Hi, Thank you for your question. For persistent headaches, possibilities like migrainous, cluster, tension and refractive errors that need to be evaluated thoroughly with the help of a neurologist here. Migraine like headache can be throbbing, one sided of face & head and preceded by aura (starts with blurred vision). Cluster headache may appear as burning, explosive in nature and tear appears from eyes. Tension headache originates with stress and anxiety disorder.
about a week ago she started experiencing an almost constant aching on top of her head and it sometimes feels like she has cold chills on her head....she is going to a doctor this week about it...my question is could this be her nerves and all of the stress and loss of sleep she has experienced for months now due to her husband's ongoing illness....thank u....
For about a week now I have had some sharp pains on the top of my head. Mostly on the right side. Sometime pain in the back of my head also. My whole head feels fuzzy or I get a stinging sensation. My doctor is setting up a ct but does not think it is anything serious. Pain pills do not seem to help either. Any help out there?
Also, this can be related to a person's stress levels, as high levels of stress can heighten perception of pain as well as irritability of vessel walls. After a through search, this can also be labeled as migraine. Migraines are treated with different specific medications that your neurologist will be able to prescribe. I agree with the neurologist consult as he or she may offer more explanations and options. You may also want to discuss the disease entities I've mentioned above.
