Common Questions and Answers about Stomach flu yogurt prevention

stomach

Avatar f tn Two weeks ago I caught what I thought to be a common stomach flu, but now I am not so sure. The pains have not subsided. I still have to go to the bathroom at least three times a day and these last days I've experienced an increase in salivation and nausea. I am not pregnant, nor have I been exposed to anything unusual. I am sometimes, mostly morning and night, very bloated and have to release gas.
2028793 tn?1358874905 Is it true your not supposed to eat yogurt while you are pregnant??
Avatar f tn Yes I had to take I had the flu. Just eat before you take it. It work good for me.
Avatar m tn Other causes of your symptoms could be food poisoning, food intolerance, stomach flu etc. Try to take regular fresh well balanced meals. Ensure to snack on plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables and include natural yogurt in your diet schedule. This is merely an advice and not a substitute for clinical examination. Keep me posted. Take care and regards!
Avatar n tn I'm 33 years old and as a child and teen I can rememeber getting the stomach flu at least once a year but as I got into my late 20's I didn't seem to get the stomach flu every year. But I had at last winter and I just got over it again today. I was up all night vomiting (yellow/greenish mucus) but not any food. It just lasted 24 hours but I still took off work a 2nd day to recuperate. My question is, is it common for an adult to get the stomach flu once a year?
Avatar n tn Hi everyone I have a quick question. I just got over the flu I was sick for about 4 days I went to the doctor yesterday and he said I should be fine. But I'm not fine. Everytime I try to eat anything whether it's something soft like yogurt or something hard like regular food I end up getting severe pains in my stomach and it's followed by severe heartburn. Sometimes it feels like the food is stuck at the point where my esophigus meets my stomach.
Avatar f tn ) I am 29 weeks today and I have been constipated (I know too much info sorry) so I started eating activate yogurt yesterday and it really helped I ate one again today and I feel like my stomach is upset. Can the good bacteria harm my baby? Is it okay for pregnant women to eat activia?
Avatar f tn Well, I think the acidophilus in the yogurt I ate, during my Triple Tx really helped my stomach, so if you cant tolerate regular yogurt, there is always soy yogurt. I was on Victrelis, so I did 28 weeks. For some reason, my nausea did end up fading alot, as if my body actually got used to taking 18 Victrelis pills a day, hah. But I did have the 24 hour stomach flu twice. It would start as a migraine waking me up, at 4 am, with some gut--wrenching, etc.
453714 tn?1211999370 There is some kind of active "good" bacteria in yogurt that straightens out your stomach. I think all yogurt has it, but still look on the label it should say active something. Does that help at all?
Avatar f tn If you want to introduce yogurt I would do one of two things. If you breastfeed you can make you own yogurt with this new thing available at Babies R Us. Look up yogurt maker, or you can buy goats milk yogurt which is not like cows milk and NOT under the milk regimen and is quit tasty! If I was unable to breastfeed I woulkd give my little one goats milk fo rsure which is most like breast milk then any other milk on th emarket. Hope this helps ya!
Avatar n tn I have just competed a course of clarithromycin, and continue to have nausea, salivation, and a gnawing feeling in my stomach. These symptoms are very similar to those I had while pregnant, ie morning sickness, but all day. I finished the drug 3 days ago. Will these symptoms ever stop?
Avatar f tn I have been on Yaz for almost two months now. I haven't missed any pills but I did have stomach flu within the first three days of starting my first pack. I didn't see the pill in my vomit and continued to take them in the mornings like I usually do. The time I take my pill is within fifteen minutes on weekdays and about 2-3 hours later on weekends. My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex 4 times about halfway through my 2nd pack of Yaz. He did not finish inside of me.
Avatar n tn just to let you know, i had two tablespoons of organic honey and half a tub of organic natural yogurt (no flavour). the stomach pain went away after this and i felt alot better. try take alot of yogurt as it's pretty good for your stomach. Don't take any of the Danone/Actimel or any yogurt that advertises on TV. take the good natural yogurt. it actually works. hope this helps you!
Avatar f tn I have NEVER had any stomach problems in my life..not even the flu. Does anyone know of a few diagnoses I can zero-in on so I can narrow down the tests I should take. Since I have no insurance, medical care givers are reluctant to give me a battery of tests. I hope someone has some ideas for me.
1211508 tn?1343079605 Hello Konakatrina, Well it (the stomach virus) was 24 hours of sheer heel and another 24 hours of feeling pretty out of it (though the vomiting stopped), and after that I began to get my appetite back, and so I ate what I was craving (happened to be chicken at the time...I remember it well). It's also a good idea to eat yogurt after a stomach flu as the cultures in yogurt will replenish what you lost while you were sick, and it's gentle on the stomach.
Avatar f tn During the 2 weeks, I do feel like I have the flu and am weak feeling. Do you eat yogurt? Yogurt helps with digestion. It also could be that your back is out of alignment. There is a vertabae that the nerves go to the stomach. When this vertabae is out of joint, the stomach will be upset and feeling like vomiting. A chiropractor can check your back to see if this is the case. Watch your stools and if you see any black stools, see your doctor.
1264839 tn?1273676444 Do what you can to stay in the game. The end is sooo close! I had much the same issues towards the end of tx, compounded by horrid mouth sores. I stuck to yogurt/banana smoothies, frozen yogurt bars, applesauce and Ensure (it does grow on you if it's chilled). Not the greatest diet, but it helped me make it to the finish line knowing I did all I could to get there - no regrets.
Avatar f tn If you have a stomach virus, your best course of action is to stay hydrated & let it run its course. The reason you keep going or vomiting is because your body is getting rid of the virus, if you stop it, the illness will last longer. It *****-but unfortunately that's the truth.
Avatar m tn //www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/wellness-and-prevention/bloating-causes-and-prevention-tips#:~:text= Do you strain at all? Not feeling empty after a bm is another sign of constipation. IBS is something to look into (irritable bowel syndrome) or gastroparesis (delayed stomach emptying, which can cause bloating, nausea and even bowel blockage). You use a probiotic. Those can be very helpful (either pill form or in yogurt or drinks). You have to do it regularly for effectiveness.
Avatar f tn Thanks for replying again. The only ''real flu'' I've had that just lasted just a few days was the 24 hr stomach flu. I've had bouts of horrible flu in the past which lasted almost 10 days. That's why I get a flu shot every year. I think I'd rather live with the outbreaks than the side effects of Acyclovir, but thanks so much for your help.
1560477 tn?1295448225 I took a test on monday the 7th and it come out negative. But on the 11 I caught a flu and went to the doc on the 13th and he said I have a lymph on my jaw line. and I also have muscle small pain. Should I be worried?
Avatar f tn just really watery stool. I've been pg 2 times already and never had this!
Avatar n tn This looks more like stomach flu. Eating yoghurt, antacid and drinking plenty of fluids will help. It could also be a case of food poisoning. Again the treatment is same. Usually symptoms subside within 48 hrs. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn I think I have some kind of stomach flu and have had diaherria all day. I'm a ftm and am worried about it being bad for the baby. Has anyone else gotten sick while pregnant?
