Hey Guys and Dolls, If you've ever experienced vertigo, then you'll know exactly what a pain in the butt this sx is, often literally lol. Just wondering if anyone has any tips for this one, not moving my head sounds good. Though not practical or realistically something i've been able to do, and i'm not sure i want to give it that much thought anyway. I find it easier to deal with most things if i acknowledge but then ignore it or work around it.
If no medication is taken to relieve the congestion of what's causing the Vertigo, will it eventually go away on its own? I have a very weak stomach when it comes to medication & seem to have various side effects, especially when I take any medication that has pseudoephrine or anything similar--causes anxiety/panic attacks with me.
Monday night I woke up really dizzy and nauseous and eventually threw up 3 times after a lot of dry heaving. My stomach hurt really bad before I threw up. I went to the toilet hoping that it's exit out the bottom since I could only dry heave, but I just had gas. Moving my head even a tiny bit made me reel and sitting up straight and breathing evenly seeing to make me more sick feeling so I did that. Soon after I broke out in a thick sweat and felt faint.
Maybe I can get some kind of answer here. It started 2 weeks ago I had the stomach flu real bad. A week later a vertigo spell and light dizzy spell ever since. then a week ago small pain in left side that is worse at night and in morning as well as empty stomach. It comes and goes feel sick at times. Now the big problem is I have anxirty disorder so a small pain can turn into major thing.
Hi Everyone, Same symptoms here! 39 yo female, have been exercising all my life and got those flu-symptoms (upset stomach & throwing up, hot/cold face, extreme fatigue, hammer headache etc..) more and more often in the last 2 years. the funny thing is that it starts within few hours after exercising, never right away. So each time I am thinking I am going to be okay, and then, boom, here it comes. Really frustrating.
i say theres some fluid there or something that is causing the dizziness and i have a heavy head but no drainage.....so i'm thinking possibly a chronic sinus problem could be causing the vertigo and the vertigo is definitly causing anxiety. it's no fun at all. and dr.'s seem to think i'm as healthy as a horse and that its just an equilibrium problem.....
I had the h1n1 on 11/14 and the regular flu shot the week prior. My tingling started on 11/27. At first, I thought I had the flu or some kind of virus, because I had cold chills and a little nausea w/ it. But then i had the same thing happen about 5 days later. It would come and go w/ a few good days in between. Now I am tingling everyday.
Reading on the internet makes me feel like labyrinthitis is the most likely solution as it just hit me like a truck. I don't have the main symptom of vertigo though. I might have some hearing loss but it is hard to tell if that isn't just my mind operating slowly. Most people hear 80% of a sentence and can put it together, my brain now seems to be missing the function required for that. I was worried I had given myself a stroke at first, but not any longer.
On Thursday her headaches got much worse and she had stomach pain accompanied by vomiting. We both assumed this was a flu or cold. She took three doses of theraflu in pill form spread out over a day and half. Over the next day she became more and more dizzy. It took two days before her stomach returned to normal and she had a slightly better appetite. However her dizziness has not subsided. Worse on Sunday she noticed that her pupils were dilated.
She hasn't eaten meat today and she's pretty sure they're bits of tissue. She and her dad think it could be just a stomach flu but it must be a severe case if it is one.
I saw a post about atrial fibrillation and stomach gas possible association. I too have the same thing so it may not be all in your head if your suspect this to be the case. Most dr.'s think your crazy or never heard of this when you even suggest it. Thats whats wrong with most dr's. they don't think outside the box and most always treat symptoms with side effect ridden drugs because this is what they learned.
I have long been convinced that most, if not almost all, of the lurches are stomach SPASMS. Doctors have seemed very sceptical of that, insisting they were irregular heart beats. This week I had left arm pain that occurred while having fairly frequent lurches. In the emergency room, bloodwork and EKGs were normal.
i feel so bad. im so dizzy and sick to my stomach.
Just a quick question......... I have read many many times about trapped stomach gas and/or acid triggering PVCs and even SVT! I have also read that the vagus nerve can be involved when this happens. I read somewhere that if the vagus nerve is stimulated a PVC can be triggered. I was wondering if anyone can explain how the vagus nerve may be irritated by gas/acid/indigestion. Also how is it true that the vagus nerve can be stimulated when you have a bowel movement?
I try to squeeze it out and only a hard stool comes out. 5. the sweating stops and the stomach cramp subsides. I think everything is over and I clean up. I walk out of the toilet and in about 2 minutes time the stomach cramp and the fainting sensation comes back (I've fainted only once to date from this and was out for about 15-20 minutes). 6. When I get back to the toilet I have a really violent Diarrhoea episode in pure liquid state.
Try some Gelsemium for your vertigo - available at a health food store. Gelsemium is for the four D's: dissiness, drowsiness, droopiness and "dumbness". It's also good for anxiety, fatigue, flu, headaches, Mono, and MS.
Today I even vomitted, I don't know if this is because of the vertigo or migraine. At first I had a stomach cramp (along with the headache and vertigo) and then I vomitted. Ever since, I feel sick, as if I have the flu. I'm waiting to see the neurologist for a checkup. In the meantime, I'll see my regular doctor tomorrow.
All the congestion has your inner ears out of whack and it's causing vertigo. If and when your flu clears up and you still have this issue, please see a balance specialist as they can re-align the crystals in your inner ear canals to help the vertigo stop. Best wishes.
(Hep C, Gen 1, VL 10 million 700 thousand, started treatment with 4 week lead-in of Interferon and Ribavirin on 9-1-2011) Here I am in day 14 of tx, and today I decided I should/would track my side effects better, so I can also let the docs know. I will continue to add to this entry as I think of things (perhaps week by week, then month by month) but hopefully I won't have much to write about!! SEPTEMBER 2011 1 -- 1st SHOT, 8:00 p.m.
My husband and father both went home sick from work yesterday (they work at the same place). It seems to be a stomach bug. My Dad has it worse then DH. with DH his stomach feels "off" but he is still eating fine. He does feel headachy and body achy. Last Fall both DH and our youngest son had H1N1. DH said it's kind of like that, but not nearly as bad. Anyway, yesterday my throat started feeling a bit sore and (to my untrained fingers) my lymph nodes feel a bit swollen.
But I didnt have any fever at that time nor i have it now but I feel feverish as I am coming down with flu or something. My whole body is HOT specially my face, forehead, stomach and upper back. My upper back was hurting as well yesterday and i took Panadol and I was fine after that. Does Panadol work if you are having flu and I have read ARS is atleast 7 days and can go up to 20 days from some of the websites? I am worried till grave!!
My GP was totally against refilling it (smart man) but I got my neurologist to refill it (I have vestibular migraine as well with debilitating vertigo and it was getting worse because of the vestibular neuritis I got after having the flu). the first go of it, I was fine. then I was using maybe 5 to 10 mg. a day maybe once or twice a week, then every 2 weeks, then I just went a month with none. I had to take one 2 days ago. Last few times I have taken it, I'm fine when I take it.

these problems persit most of the day mostly in the morning. Sometimes I can drink or eat something and it will settle my stomach. I really don't know where to start to recieve treatment. I thank you in advance for any "INSIGHT" that you may have for me...!!!
I have read that it is a known symptom for MS patients to have flu like symptoms, without have the flu. I often think that the nausea is a reaction from the pain. I personally get extreme perspiration and nausea sometimes with a headache.
For me, I woke up from a good night's sleep, feeling fine, but when I turned over to get out of bed the room started spinning and I was vomiting. It lasted the whole day. I figured it was the stomach flu and I didn't have another problem until last December. Since then, I've had vertigo every day, but at this point it usually only lasts a few seconds and seems to happen most often when I tilt my head back. I have headaches, stiff neck, muscles and achey joints every day.
Even though my family has had stomach flu and colds I never caught any of them even from my drink sharing toddler) I've gone to the doc, and had these tests done: CAT scan of sinus and head ---Normal Results Blood Work--Normal Urine sample--Normal

I've been using the generic brand of zoloft (sertraline) for about 6 months now. My doctor started me with the minimum dosage (25 mg) and I am currently up to 100 mg. I didn't have any troubles with 25, 50 or 75 mg. But I had a little bit of gitters and agitation for the first couple of days on 100. That went away though. And I haven't had any problems since. What dosage did your doctor start you at?
