Sneezing hurts throat

Common Questions and Answers about Sneezing hurts throat

sneeze

The pain has been there since this occured a week and a half to two weeks ago. It hurts in the front on my throat where you would do a tracheotomy. It hurts when I look up. It seems to stretch it and pain ensues. It hurts to swallow and talk. It feels sore like a sore throat but it is very low in my throat. It actually feels like something is stuck in there. Can you please advise what this could be? Thank You.
I am 12wks and have had a tickle in my throat thanks to Springs arrival. but every time I cough it really hurts in my lower belly. the pain only lasts a few seconds but can be mild or slightly painful. anyone else have this issue??
why does my throat hurt every time i sneeze? I'm not sick and i don't have a soar throat. it only hurts when i sneeze.. what could be the reason behind it??
When I have to blow my nose and air is forced into that area it really hurts! If I have several sneezes in a row it hurts for a long time after. If I go for a few days with no sneezing or coughing, or blowing my nose then it subsides a little...but it comes back. I feel like there might also be a lump in there too, but can't really tell. The pain is mostly at the base and to the right of my neck. It is not raw or anything like my throat is sore..
I have had allergies and asthma all my life. When I have a sneezing/hay fever reaction, it's accompanied by the usual itching of palate and eyes, and my medications take care of it. But once or twice a month, I sneeze uncontrollably, hundreds of times, all day long, and nothing, not Allegra-D, not Claritin, not Benadryl, will stop it. And the weird thing is, this sneezing is NOT accompanied by the usual itching. When I have a "sneezing day," I am nonfunctional.
Thanks but its weird I haven't gotten a sore throat or anything throat related since i got my tonsils removed my senior year of high school I was 17 I use to get strep 7 or more times a year it would be so bad I would have white patches and swelling to the point I couldn't breath
Honey is one of the best things you can use for a sore throat as it coats your throat and heals it. Having a cold will not harm baby. If you end up with a fever and it is over 100.4F then you do need to call your doctor. Otherwise, take it easy and rest!
The sore throat is almost like on the esophagus when touched on the outside it hurts. Opening my mouth wide or sneezing or yawning hurts not alot but it hurts. My ears hurt as well.
Now she's not stuffy anymore, her nose is running with clear mucous, it is not green or yellow... she is sneezing alot, especially since our dog has begun to shed, and her right eye is red. She was not this bad on Friday, now all of a sudden (of course ALWAYS on days the Pedi's office is closed) it has gotten worse. She seems to be OK other than the sneezing, watery red eye, and the coughing.
Thank you for visiting the Family Practice Forum. You describe a "strange sensation in your throat". This may be caused by several conditions. On is allergies or allergic rhinitis. People who have allergies tend to have alot of nasal secretions which drain down the throat and may cause throat inflammation or irritation and may give the sensation that something is "stuck" in the throat. If you have no allergy symptoms (i.e. Runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing, etc.
Two days ago, the very back of my gums (right behind my last molar) (almost my throat) swelled up as well as a the lymph node directly under it on the same side. My throat hurts on that same side too. This is causing some tooth sensitivity. Any thoughts? NOTE: I have alot of allergies, but have never actually been allergy tested. I have my tonsils and adnoids removed many years ago. Have a deviated septum. I do get cold sores from time to time (have for most of my life).

) I've been reading a number of posts here, in the archives, about phlegm in the throat. I have phlegm in the back of my throat all the time. I'm certain this is contributing to my snoring. One extremely helpful post said that constant phlegm in the throat is comes from congestion that is above or below your throat. If the congestion is in the chest this could be due to asthma. I'm not asthmatic, I don't smoke or live with a smoker, so that's out.
The mucous sliding down the back of my throat is still everpresent, and causes me to constantly clear my throat, which oftentimes triggers a coughing episode, though the coughing has subsided considerably. Since my daughter recently had a c-section and has two other children, she's needed me to help her and I'm afraid to go anywhere near the newborn, not knowing if this mucous thing with the accompanying cough is contagious or not.
they are red, kind of big, and there are tons of them. they hurt really bad, feel something in my throat, and it hurts to swallow. i also might have a fever and have been sneezing alot with a stuffy nose. im not sure if these symptoms match, but im worried about what i might have. also, over the past few years, my throat has been extremely dry all year round and my voice has become verryy hoarse. please help!!
I have had a Sore Throat for 5 weeks now.the Tonsils and back of throat are really sore!! Dr seems to think its nothing to worry about. Also my arms feel really week.Has anyone else suffered with a sore throat for this long??
I've tried drinking soda, swallowing air, etc, and it just makes me feel uncomfortable but doesn't make me burp. Instead, my throat gurgles. The best way to describe the sound is like a stomach growling, only in the throat. It's incredibly embarrassing and I can't prevent it from happening. It tends to happen a lot after I drink juice or soda, but also sometimes after meals where I only drank water.
with very minimal pain • Sort of swollen uvula • Sort of swollen tonsils • White thingies sort of in my tonsils...probably tonsil stones. I hope so. • Back wall of throat is pretty pink • Sneezing, only on occasion; it's July, maybe a summer cold? • White "furry" tongue • Clearing of throat I'm 21 years old and ♂ male. Maybe it was a few days ago, but I coughed up a very vile-smelling off-white glob of...stuff...that could probably wake the dead because of the potency of the smell.
after 15 mins and some crackers it was fine again. i have no idea what this is. the throat still hurts especially in the morning... i am a bit worried. I just got back from a transatlantic flight, could i have picked something up on the trip, i am also not used to aircondition, which is everywhere at the moment.
Usually you don't have all the other symptoms except pain fever and pus and possible rash (in scarlet fever) with strep throat (not the cough, sneezing and other cold or flu like symptoms, but since your throat is so painful I thought of writing again to maybe have you check.
It began in 1976 and re occurs every 5 to 6 years. I get a sore throat (not tonsils but when you swallow) I now go straight on antibiotics and use Bricanyl inhaler although it doesnt seem to have much effect except to cause alot of mucus coughed up from the lungs. It causes me to have spasm coughing and if I cannot control this to 3 or 4 coughs my windpipe closes over making it hard to breath in or out.
I just got out the hospital for epiglottitus which is a serious throat infection which blocks your airway. It feels like there is something stuck in the back of your throat and it hurts like h*ll. I was constantly spitting and drooling because I could not swallow. You should go and checked immediately if your excessive blockage gets worse or anything.
on or about july 2, 2007 i had unprotected sex with my old girlfriend it was the first time i seen her in over three years to the best of my knowledge she has had only one boyfriend since then but there might have been a chance that she went out to a club immediately after i broke up with her and had sex with someone she hardly knew but i can't say for sure on july 14 i took two days off work for sick leave, i was experiencing mild hot flashes and didnt feel like going into work, i spent all of
I have, over the last approximately 15-20 years suffered from swelling of the back of the tongue and the throat, and of the sinus cavities, perpetual unproductive cough, continual sinus drainage down the back of the throat and sometimes to the front of the nose, and overall fatigue and depression as a result. It has gotten so bad that I have had to give up the running and sports in which I used to participate. It is a hindrance to my overall quality of life.
I have the constant Post Nasal Drip and throat clearing as a result of it. This has bothered me for about eighteen years and just keeps getting worse. Being a stand up comedian, this really hampers my profession. On December 8,2005 I was doing a show in Virgina and saw a local doctor there. She gave me Tussionex and within the hour of the first dosage the drainage stopped. The next week was wonderful as I was even able to cough up stuff for the first time in a long time.
It is coming from the throat or just below the throat. Telling a doctor...is useless. I would just get the look....LOL I do have 4 heart stents and I do have reflux/gerd.
At least once or twice a week the smallest thing, like drinking water, or soda, or even taking in a breath, will trigger a tickle in my throat which sends me into a coughing fit until my eyes water and usually end with sneezing. It's very embarrasing at a restaurant and out in public. What's causing it?
I get mall particles of food that gets stuck in the back of my throat somewhere around the nasal passage area. These are small particle of hard food like a part of a peanut shards after being chewed up.. or really small pills like 10mg lipitor (I don't know how many of the liptors have literally dissolved back there instead of my stomach) Almost every night I have something stuck there it causes my sinus to swell in the during sleep and can sometimes get painful if it does not get dislodge.
