Sneezing after quitting smoking

Common Questions and Answers about Sneezing after quitting smoking

sneeze

Avatar m tn Lung illnesses such as bronchitis is the most common illness after detoxing from opiates. I got really sick about 3 weeks after detox, took my meds and got well, then relapsed w/an even worse case of bronchitis. The cough was deadly man. I had a 6 year addiction, and thinking back, never...ever....once....remember getting sick with even a cold. If I maybe had one, didn't feel bad, cuz pills made me feel good. Also, hydro is great for coughs. Go figure. Humph.
Avatar f tn So today is day 12 clean I feel pretty good just still kind of unmotivated and kinda low energy but whatever I keep telling myself that I am still healing. I made myself go for a jog last night and so I walked and jogged like 2 1/2 miles. Now I also mentioned that throughout this process I quit smoking too. I don't know if maybe this is a reason y but I cannot stop sneezing! Like really I sneeze a good 30x's a day could that be from quitting smoking?
Avatar m tn It can also be due to a bad gastric reflux caused by gastritis secondary to smoking. So, the only permanent cure is quitting smoking. However, you can consult your doctor to diagnose whether it is the post nasal drip or reflux which causes your problem—treatment will depend on the cause. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
Avatar f tn Hello In past i am very heavy smoker now i quitting smoking. After quitting i feel pain on my left side on chest. Any one tell me what is this.
Avatar m tn *ADDITIONAL INFO: I have been sneezing excessively for a couple of weeks, due to allergies i believe
Avatar f tn Many people say they have a cough after quitting CT. I did a taper when I finally quit and I had no problem with a cough or breathing. (but I did with sneezing!..that has finally died down.) I do not have asthma, but I do have asthma symptoms (from years of smoking.
Avatar f tn So i'm 12 weeks and after smoking roughly 10-15 cigarettes a day before I got pregnant, i'm down to one or two a day. I was told that quitting cold turky would be worse for my baby (especially dealing with depression and anxiety) so even though I've cut down and plan on quitting some time this week, could there be any significant damage done to my baby? I'm really worried and wish I just would have quit when I first found out..
Avatar f tn Hello. I've quit smoking for 3 weeks now after 32 years of smoking. I am using the patch and my doctor put me on zyban when I saw her sept 5 because I couldn't stop crying. The crying has gotten better I feel terrible. I think I'm obsessed with my breathing to the point where I feel it all the time. My chest feels tight. I feel myself inhaling all the time. I've been to the emergency room twice now in two weeks. Chest films taken. They put me on high does prednisone for.

Avatar f tn I also recommend figuring out what makes you crave the most. for me, I have to have a cig not to long after waking up, and after eating. I personally believe if I can break those 2 habits first, then I could probably quit. I smoked all the way through with my first. he ended up coming 5 weeks early and the dr who delievered him kept trying to blame it on me smoking. im sure that helped but wasn't the only reason.
Avatar f tn ve never felt better, I only had cravings for about 2-5 days after that I got over it, my system was cut down each week until I was smoking 1-2 smokes a day which was pointless.
Avatar n tn but i always thaought it were due to any pressure or fear in mind about relationships or job. but soon after quitting smoking my health improved very quickly. my skin brightened. i did experienced the same fast heart beats for a couple of days...i will suggest you to drink more water if you are not taking enough. because it takes some time to make your body free of cigarette chemicals....i think it's just temporary. take more fluids to free your body from nicotine...
Avatar f tn I'm sure everyone's different of course. I've smoked for 9 years now. And my doctor told me defiantly don't quit cold turkey. It can cause a miscarriage. As the previous person said. I cut back a lot but have continued smoking this whole pregnancy. I'm 37 weeks now. And my baby girl is healthy and a big baby! After smoking for 1 year, I quit as soon as I found out I was pregnant with my first at 6 weeks. She was born healthy at 39 weeks 6 days.
Avatar m tn Your theory is my theory - just the act of continuing to inhale something made me crave cigarettes like crazy which is why I quit the weed back in January with the hopes it would make quitting smoking much easier. It did! I quit c/t on Apr28th and haven't taken a single puff. I wish I could say I haven't smoked any weed at all in 7mos, but I can't. Have smoked a couple times after I hit the 6mo mark and as predicted, felt cravings for cigs that weren't there before.
Avatar f tn My experience may not be quite accurate as I quit smoking weed as well so it wasn't just nicotine I was dealing with. I am also a poor sleeper and Never sleep through the night, but once I quit smoking, I would say it took maybe 2wks to notice I was sleeping much better than I ever did when I WAS smoking. And that's the SHORT answer LOL.
Avatar f tn Why don't u do one of those e cigarettes, that helped my husband to quit after 20 years of smoking, or can u do the patch or gum?
Avatar m tn I developed sinus problems about 4-6 weeks after quitting - really runny nose and sneezing. I then experienced a nose bleed and a lot of itchy/dry congestion. After two nose bleeds and some yellow mucus, I went to the doctor and was told that it was just allergies and that I needed Flonase. I've never had allergy problems, so I believe now after reading this thread that it is directly related to quitting. I think it will go away over time...stay strong!
1163991 tn?1449747741 After quitting smoking how long did it actually take you to enjoy life again? Today (after 17 days of not smoking) it seems to me that I enjoyed life more as a smoker. What do I have now? - eating, chewing gum ... and more eating ... I was just wondering, when I will enjoy life again ...
Avatar n tn Is joint pain/arthritis possible after quitting smoking? I'm on week 8 since I quit, and it's been 3 weeks since I last chew nicotine gum. I've been experiencing joint pain everywhere (hands, ankle, wrist, neck). Could this be a result of my body releasing toxins?
Avatar n tn I have heard from several people that after quitting smoking they feel worse than when they smoked. What I was told is that they have trouble breathing a few months after, and upon exersion is even worse. Also you catch every virus that comes along. Is this true, and if so, will vitamins help this problem, such as, zinc, Vitamins c, b, e, and cod liver oil? I am more worried about the illnesses after quitting than I am about actually quitting!
Avatar f tn Congratulations on quitting smoking! One of the biggest issues with smoking during pregnancy is low birth weight babies. You've stopped at a time when babies really start picking up their weight. That occurs over the last several weeks, so you are giving your baby a good chance of picking up weight and being born at a more healthy weight.
Avatar m tn do bump up your vitamin C tho as our immune system can get really weak during detox and people seem to get sick alot after quitting for a month or so..i caught 3 different bugs right after quitting and it almost did me in...
