seroquel

Avatar n tn Doing so can cause major withdrawals and horrible side effects. I have a link that tells you all about seroquel. I do not reccomend you read it, as it will only scare you off it. I did not even look closely at the page. But I will leave it up to you. Blessings - Blu http://www.rxlist.com/seroquel-side-effects-drug-center.
Avatar n tn s possible long term side effects, connection with seizure disorder, or the connection between antipsychotics and seizure disorders?
1246883 tn?1285547973 I immediately started to gain weight. And stopped the Seroquel immediately (mid Dec). I know this is one of the side effects. I gained about 5lbs. Being 5'9" and weighing 135, I felt the 5 extra pounds would come off with eating better and a few more yoga classes . But the weight kept coming. I got down to a dietary intake of about 1000 cals. But that mad no difference.
Avatar f tn My Doctor just switch my medication from 150 mg of Effexor XR to 400 mg of Seroquel XR. I dropped my dosage of Effexor gradually but I still experienced terrible withdrawl. Now I am experiencing bad side effects, " I'm guessing ths", from the Seroquel. I have gained weight in my stomach area very rapidly, I have pain and stiffness in my legs, 24 hour dry mouth and sinuses and I feel like I could cry at the drop of a hat.
355133 tn?1241569648 ve been titrating down from 300mg by 25mg/wk and the side effects have been horrific; nausea, headaches, blurred vision. The side effects from toxicity still exist; itching,burning/tingling, pins & needles, bone ache and stiffness in legs all still exist as well.
Avatar f tn Everyone reacts to medication differently. A medication that might work for me might be disastrous for you. You might have started at too high of a dose or increased your dose too fast, you might be on too high of a dose for your body or it might just simply be the wrong medication for you. I would inform your doctor of these side effects right away if you haven't done so already.
607502 tn?1288247540 Why are you changing from seroquel to lamictal? I am just curious as I perhaps too might be changing from seroquel to something else in the near future. It's some unwanted side effects for me.I tried stopping the med unsupervised (don't do this at home) and I had a real job sleeping afterwards, so perhaps be prepared for that (I am back on now until I can see my pdoc).
802234 tn?1237830136 My 34 year old son is taking 150 mg imipramine, 6 (1mg) Clonozapam, and 400mg Seroquel, (down from 600 mg) per day. His side effects are weakness, irregular heartbeat and eye problems. One of his eyes has gotten so bad that he may have to get a cornea transplant. I cannot say for sure if the meds caused his eye problems, but he had perfect vision all during school and according to my research seroquel has been know to cause lens problems in the eyes.
Avatar f tn I BEGAN THIS PROCESS ON MONDAY NIGHT. ON WEDNESDAY I BEGAN TO EXPERIENCE THESE SIDE EFFECTS, EACH DAY THEY INCREASED MORE. Avatar m tn He had a third seizure there and the vet diagnosed epilepsy. He is on phenobarbitol and had no side effects until last night when he vomited and started head twitching. He is drooling a lot and a bit wobbly. Is this typical? Will it stop ?
Avatar f tn These type of side effects are often worse in the beginning but often improve over time. Make sure to inform your psychiatrist about this and they can tell you how to proceed. Part of it may be the interactions between the various medications. Are they in the process of transferring you from one medication to another? Lamictal requires a very slow titration rate but only a psychiatrist would understand the clinical specifics and how they apply.
2010625 tn?1329372056 After I have been awake for a while they have slowly went away I am still a tiny bit dizzy, and drowsy still after 2 cups of coffee I just feel like I am not waking up still feel half asleep. Does anyone know if these side effects are serious or if it is something that will go away as I get use to the medication. I know I should be asking my doctor these questions but it is the weekend and my doctor is not in his office until Monday.
175861 tn?1428182413 Take care, Laura I just read on another of your posting where you mentioned you are on seroquel aand prozac. One of the unfortunate side effects of seroquel is tardive dyskinesia, a less rare but possible with prozac. From what i've read and seen on youtube, it results in all over muscle spasms and shakes. I have read it can be pemanent, it's not one of those side effects that go away after one stops seroquel.
Avatar f tn He is now back on dilantin and has been seizure free with the side effects that a lot of people mention (slightly disoriented at times, light headed etc) However he has had a cough at night since then and it can be quite bad. He isn't able to get a good nights sleep (nor am I) since then. His chest Xray was fine. Has anyone else had a problem with this?
605458 tn?1539228808 I used to take regular Seroquel with no sexual side effects. I was recently changed to Seroquel XR and the side effects are so different than regular Seroquel, and one of them is sexual side effects. Anyone else? The other new med I am on is Amitiza, which is for Irritable Bowel Syndrome and didn't have sexual side effects listed. I have been under a lot of new stress lately, but that has never caused this problem in the past.
Avatar n tn Lithium an cause nausea in some patients, I get it some mornings on an empty stomach and they key is to eat something but in some people its very bad and doesnt work for them. I always advise people to talk to their doctors about drugs - for example SSRI drugs which can caused serious side effects in some BP's including mixed mania and suicidal thoughts. Everyone is different so its vital to work with your doctors to find the right mix of drugs.
Avatar f tn I was unable to sleep, felt both sick and generally awful for about 3-4 days after stopping, I think it would be best to gradually reduce obviously, but maybe try and get something to help with sleep till you can find something that works with the seizure medication, maybe there is another seizure medication that would allow you to continue with seroquel. Good luck anyway, the side effects and withdrawal do go away, I managed to sleep through the night about a week after I stopped altogether.
Avatar f tn She was starting have nightmare regarding death, and her medication was changed to seroquel. About 3 to 4 weeks after starting seroquel she had a seizure ( 1 at home and 2 in the hospital). She was taken off the seroquel and but on Lamitcal and has had 5 more seizures. Is her bipolar disorder causing the seizures?
Avatar m tn Blood testing is important, so if you are concerned about the side effects, get the vet to do a blood test to assess dosage levels. But, the side effects CAN continue for several weeks, before they will eventually start to subside. I know it's a hard process - but it has to be gone through - otherwise you will be back at square one. Don't interfere with the dosing without the vet's authority - and importantly, give the dose at the same time every 12hrs.
Avatar n tn i take lithium, prestic and seroquel. recently i had two grand mal seizures; the worst kind and was in the hospital for 10 days. they put me on restraints, was in icu and 5 other days in neurology. i had a a ct, mri and spinal tap. the hospital took me off prestic, seroquel and lithium and the neurologist put me on lamital for both seizures and depression. also, i am taking invega and ativan for anxiety. the reason for my seizures is because of medicine.
Avatar f tn So may I know Oxetol 300 is a good and recommended medicine to treat partial-seizure and these side affects are common. She is getting fear like symptoms sometimes. So all these are normal side affects and it will get right after some days taking or the body become ready to accept Oxetol ? And final question, is this partial seizure can be cured completely ? what else we need to do improve the treatment. Took MRI scan and nothing found other than Sinus. Blood levels are fine.
1696867 tn?1312609591 I started on Abilify for my Bi Polar 2 weeks ago. After 2 days I had to halve the dose, as the side effects were so debilatating (?), but the side effects are still horrendous. I have no ability to concentrate, problems focussing, shake/tremors and no energy at all. The only good thing is that my moods seem better than they have in ages. My question is, how long do I need to put up with the side effects?
915369 tn?1355314810 Ok so I told my psychiatrist everything that came to my mind yesterday, so most of what's been troubling and how my episodes have been and how long they've been lasting and how severe they are or aren't. She said it sounded like I had rapid cycling, asked me how my low and high I was getting and just kept repeating that they get "severe". I thought I was getting better so surprise surprise for me!
