I am thinking of trying salbutamol and wondering whether anyone has any information, experiences or thoughts to share. Anything would be greatly appreciated. It is a horrible time I should add that I have been mildy anemic and am recovering. This has certainly exacerbated my breathing difficulties -- i.e. I have struggled to breath far more while anemic. However, I have good days and bad days and going by weather patterns, I'm fairly sure these are related to pollen allergy. Thank you.
Hi, ventolin or salbutamol is a rescue inhaler, that means you take this when you have an episode of Asthma. They are short acting, work for up to 6 hrs after inhalation. There are reliever inhalers which work for up to 12 hours after taking each dose. They include salmeterol (brand name Serevent) and formoterol (brand name Atimos). Regards.
As you indicate, bronchodilators such as ProAir™ HFA (salbutamol sulphate) Inhalation Aerosol can cause airway spasm, which is called paradoxical because the spasm is exactly the opposite of what is expected of this class of medicines. This is rare. Also, just as some people have a strong gag reflex, some individuals have a sensitive cough reflex, but that is not paradoxical bronchospasm.
My doctor told me to take doxofylline 400mg and told duolin inhalation will not be required. But my problem doesn't seem to have improved. Can I take duolin through nebulizer.. ... Or will it interfere with doxofylline?
Symbicort® (budesonide/formoterol fumarate dehydrate) Inhalation Aerosol and Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Aerosol are pharmacologically fairly equally effective. Using Flovent® (fluticasone propionate) and Serevent® (salmeterol), which are contained in Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Aerosol, would be preferable.
You and he/she will have to resort to other preparations, to include a different inhaled steroid, such as Flovent® HFA Inhalation Aerosol (fluticasone propionate), either alone or in combination with a long-acting bronchodilator, like Serevent® Inhalation Aerosol (salmeterol xinafoate) or Foradil® Aerolizer™ (formoterol fumarate inhalation powder), such a combination being either Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Aerosol or Symbicort® (budesonide/formoterol fumarat
He was put on Salbutamol, he responded for the first week, no coughing and vomiting but started in the second week 3 months now.
Hi, green mucus is usually associated with viral infections, generally, mucolytics along with antibiotics (to prevent bacterial superimposed infections) are prescribed. Try steam inhalation along with ambroxol and bronchodilator (terbutaline, salbutamol etc) to ease out coughing. Better consult doctor to rule out bronchoconstriction. Prolonged cough should be investigated.
I am not really familiar with aerocort, but I did do a little research on it. Aerocort appears to be a combination inhaled corticosteroid (ICS - as indicated by the "cort" in its name) and salbutamol (a long acting broncho dilater). This would be similar to Advair or Symbicort. You cannot be addicted to this medicine. You have a chronic disease and this medicine keeps your lungs open so that you can breathe. It is necessary for you to live. It will not harm you in any way.
I understand females are more vulnerable than males, I am female. Medication, Spiriva Inhalation 18mcg daily, Salbutamol and Seretide puffers q.i.d x 2 puffs daily. After about 6 months on these medications, I actually feel no ease or improvement. I have been suffering from Pollen Allergy from almost 6 years. This started when I started to live in Islamabad. Here pollen allergy counts in spring are at very high from Paper Mulberry. Due to this I have a running nose and asthametic symptoms featuring suffocation and watered eyes. All this is reduced when i stay indoor.
Last night I ate no food after 5pm that I could react to and around 9 pm I used the blue puffer (Ventolin Salbutamol Sulpate Inhalation Aerosol) and and what was left of my red puffer (Fovent flutisacone propionate - corticosteroid) - AND I immediately broke out in hives and itching everywhere including on my tongue and I had trouble swollowing. I took an anti-histamine and the hives lasted about 90 minutes.
It is estimated that it affects 4 to 18 percent of the general population. According to studies done, salbutamol inhalation shortens attacks of severe pain in patients with proctalgia fugax. HE PRESCRIBED PENICILLIN FOR 14 DAYS AND GAVE ME A CFC FREE INHALATION AEROSOL SALBUTAMOL SULFATE. IT WORKED A BIT LAST NIGHT. AND TODAY I AM BREATHING BETTER. DONT DISMISS THE PANIC ATTACK AS PART OF THE ONGOOING PROBLEM BECAUSE I CAN UNDERSTAND THAT AS WELL BUT THERE SHOULD BE AN UNDERLYING CAUSE. THIS HAPPENS TO ME FOR ALOT OF YEARS BUT ONCE I HAVE HAD A FEW PUFFS OF THAT BREATHER THEN ALL SEEMS GOOD FOR A LONG TIME. AS YOU CAN SEE IN THIS COLUMN THIS IS QUITE COMMON.
A recent German study published in the American Journal of Gastroenterology involved a double-blind cross-over trial to evaluate the efficacy of inhaled salbutamol and the duration of symptoms in patients with proctalgia fugax. The study showed that inhalation of 2 puffs of salbutamol shortened pain attacks in patients with severe proctalgia fugax compared with placebo (dummy treatment).
