2174396 tn?1337605170 Hmm, I would have said no...what kind of incompatibility? Rh? I am Rh neg and my partner pos and we managed...I have had to have lots of blood tests to check that there are no antibodies against the + factor and have had to have antiD injections (they are known as rhogam shots in the US I think) to help prevent any antibodies being made, but other than that all has been fine, I am not even classed as medium or high risk.
1344601 tn?1276770080 Is there a possibility for a baby with rh incompatibility or Rh-induced hemolytic disease of the newborn to survive without being treated and live without having the effects that the disease brings? Thank you.
849762 tn?1288184748 As a part of the blood testing in standard prenatal care, most doctors check the woman’s blood type in order to identify women for whom Rh incompatibility is a concern. Originally, recommendations were to give the injections to women who had given birth. The recommendations then changed to include a RhoGAM shot around 28 weeks of pregnancy.
Avatar n tn , the term "Rh" refers to a particular protein, the Rh factor, that sits on the surface of red blood cells (the surfaces of all cells are dotted with some protein or another). About 85 percent of the population carries the Rh-factor protein on their cells. That makes them Rh-positive. Some folks, such as you, don’t have the protein and are Rh-negative. Does it make any difference in your daily life? Not in the slightest.
Avatar f tn Your doctor can order a blood test to check your Rh sensitization status. In the event that you did develop anti-Rh antibodies, treatments for Rh incompatibility do exist and your doctor will know to observe your future pregnancies closely for signs of problems so as to intervene early if needed.

Avatar f tn HI, Recurrent abortions occurring three or more times are due to various factors like fetal abnormality, genetic causes, Rh blood group incompatibility and low progesterone hormone, and pelvic factors like infection, endometriosis, fibroids, etc. Hence you will require investigations to find out whether you are fertile or not and also to find the cause of abortions. This will help avert any such mishaps in the future with proper treatment. Consult a gynaecologist. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn It isn't a huge problem at all. If the baby's dad is rh positive then your body will want to reject the baby because it's seen as a foreign body. It will not reject your first baby but it will create antibodies so the next baby you have is at risk. They use to give you immunosuppressant shots during your second pregnancy to prevent miscarriage but I believe (you can ask your doctor for sure) now they give you one while delivering your first child and it will prevent it.
1194973 tn?1385503904 A lot of different things can cause Jaundice...it can spontaneously occur, and it can occur from different blood-type issues..for instance, my son had it because he has A+ blood but I have O+ and somehow our blood mixed, and the antibodies in my blood attacked his red blood cells :(. It caused him to have what's caused ABO Incompatibility Jaundice...and his levels were dangerously high very soon after birth, which is how they noticed it immediately and were able to identify it.
Avatar n tn Now i am married , happily married and we want a child more than anything else, but i discovered i am blood group 0 negative. This means that i must do an injection after delivering the first baby in order to have other healthy children. Well i did not know it by that time, a year ago so i really want to ask does that count as a first pregnancy which means that i will never have healthy babies???? thank you very much.

Avatar f tn Abortions can occur because of various reasons. These can be foetal abnormality, genetic causes, Rhesus blood group incompatibility and low progesterone hormone, infection of the uterus, endometriosis, fibroids, etc. Many times the cause is difficult to pin-point. In your case it can be because of rhesus incompatibility. When you plan your next pregnancy it must be after thorough counselling and prenatal medicines must be taken.
533880 tn?1237612452 Erythroblastosis fetalis can be prevented for women at high risk ( Rh- women with Rh+ mates or mates whose blood type is unknown) by administering Rho-GAM containing anti-Rh+ antibodies into the mother around the 28th week of pregnancy and again within 72 hours after the delivery of an Rh+ baby. This must be done for the first and all subsequent pregnancies.
Avatar n tn The rhogam shot is fine, its given when the moms blood type might not agree with the babies due to Rh incompatibility... but it is to prevent it, it just means your blood type is Rh negative... they can tell this from you prenatal blood work up... as of 5 weeks its hard to see much more than the sac so dont worry about that... The reason why the Dr is concerned is due to the bleeding itself... Is your bleeding heavy with clots? or are you cramping a lot?
Avatar n tn s immune system causes breakdown of red blood cells in the fetus. This is the most dangerous problem of blood group incompatibility between the mother and baby. non-immune - the most common type; can result when diseases or complications interfere with the baby's ability to manage fluid. What causes hydrops fetalis? Hydrops develops when too much fluid leaves the bloodstream and goes into the tissues.
Avatar f tn m just really ready for her to be here. My entire first trimester was terrible I found out I had rh incompatibility so I had to start getting shots & was sick the entire time second was a breeze but now I'm in my third and I'm starting to just feel awful again..& huge. & found out last week I'm anemic so had to start iron pills :/ sorry to whine just uncomfortable.
Avatar f tn B+ means you are rh (rhesus) positive. It doesn't cause any issues in the pregnancy because you have the factor. If you don't, you are rhesus negative, ie: B-, and would require rhogam injections at 28w and after birth.
Avatar f tn I just returned from my regular OB visit. I'm 30 weeks pregnant. At 28 weeks I had an ultrasound and just got a chance to discuss it with my doc at this visit. He is concerned because I have too much amniotic fluid. He said the range is 0-20 and mine measures 27. He is sending me to St. Louis (larger hospital) to have the baby checked out. Of course after googling the issue, I am now extremely worried. I do not have gestational diabetes (just had my test done over the weekend...
Avatar f tn Is any one else A rhesus negative blood group and got to or have had the Anti D injection ?
991611 tn?1249673064 Hi. I am O RH Negative blood group and have just recently been diagnosed with undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease. I have two children (19 and 20) and had an anti-D injection after my first child. Is there a connection with this blood group and autoimmune disease? This discussion is related to Rh-negative blood connection with diabetes and heart disease.
