I believe I read somewhere but dont quote me prozac and wellbutrin are ok during pregnancy as are other SSRIs, TCAs like Tofranil and pamelor are considered safe to use during pregnancy. I am sure your doctor can share better insight.

I was hoping you might add "anti-depressant" to the treatment section. I'm currently taking Fluvoxamine (Luvox) so I'm using "prozac" as a stand in, but I think a generic option for anti-depressants, or SSRIs would be helpful.

I have been taking 0.5mg Klonopin every night to help me sleep with my anxiety and it's really helped but just recently my doctor has put me on 10mg of Prozac to take every morning , well now I'm having troubles sleeping again even while taking the klonopin , could the two medication's be working against each other ?? Yea, you'd need to be taking waaaay more than 20mg of Prozac. Xanax is in a completely different category of drugs, so it would have no effect on Seratonin.

I am wondering if anyone has any of the sexual side effects? Prozac was the first med I was given about 2 years ago and I felt dead to the world and had terrible sexual side effects. I had to stop them. My doc said I may get them since Celexa is in the same category of meds. If I do then we can try something else.

I was on 40mg of Prozac and was taking it through out my pregnancy with my son(when I would remember to take it) and he is a healthy 2 yr old and this pregnancy I personally decided I didn't need it anymore and just stopped taking it...my new dr has no clue I was on it. I've talked to my doctor about stop taking the drug but he told me not to worry about it until I get pregnant. I would appreicate any input about anti-depressants and ttc.

are there any meds to take that would allow me to take antidepressants without causing pain. i currently take tagamet but is not helping much. when the pain is worse, i take belladona that sometimes helps. would nexium or pilosec help? i take 20mg of Prozac & 0.5mg of ativan daily.

I am posting this question here, in pregnancy 18-34 and in depression, because I'm not sure where I'll get the best answer. I am currently 26 years old, and have been diagnosed with depression and anxiety. I was prescribed the anti depressant Celexa. Now, right now I have no plans of becoming pregnant, but I really do want to within the next 5 years. However, I am aware that I can not take Celexa while trying to conceive or during pregnancy.

I've recently quit my job to pursue another field of interest, however, the past few months have been fraught with anxiety over the choice. I also have OCD which I'm on Prozac for.
