Common Questions and Answers about Provigil with adderall

provigil

com I have heard a lot of really good things about Provigil, although I've never used it. It was recommended to me many times though. Just some food for thought. Seems EVERYTHING comes with its own set of dangers attached. Much love MH, RB (Christina) Popular 'Smart Drug' Prescription May Carry Addiction Risk Wednesday, March 18, 2009 A so-called "smart drug" popular with young people may carry more of an addiction risk than thought, a small government study suggests.
I'm taking Provigil and have high blood pressure. I also take a beta blocker, Propanolol. I think the too interact with each other. I tried to take the full dose, but never was able to. It must strengthen the Provigil or something, because I just don't feel right on the full dosage (I've even tried it recently after being on it for 6 months and couldn't do it). However, on the half dose, I love it! I'm more alert and less fatigued. My blood pressure is about the same.
his doctor said anger problems are very common with adderall use and should be reported to doctor. if anger is an issue adderall should not be used.
How do I suggest to my PCP that I would like Provigil or Adderall for my EXTREME fatigue, to the poing of falling asleep while driving, without seeming to be drug seeking.? I have got to have something, I drive for a living! I am so afraid of having a wreck, but I can't tell my job I have this problem. I have to have this job for the insurance, since if I went on disability I couldn't get medicare for 2 years, and how do you pay for insurance on the pittance you get for disability? Catch 22.
Anyone on medicare have any experience or enlightenment on provigil financial help? I've been quoted 33% copay (tier 4) by my drug insurance company which is over $300 for me The online sources I've contacted no longer cover provigil since the generic came out and the generic is about the same price... Looking for financial assistance sources if anyone knows of any thanks!
i too am in limbo land and struggle with fatige and weakness. I have been taking the provigil for 7 months now. You are absolutly right. do not take them in the afternoon. I take 200 mg a day within an hour of waking up. It was doing a great job. then i had another attack on the 9th of march and it does not seem like it is doing anything anymore. as for the side affects well, there are side affects with any pill that you take.
I've taken both Provigil and Adderall to help with the bad fatigue I get. I like Provigil a lot more than Adderall. It seems to have less severe side-effects for me. The only problem is that it causes my Irritable Bowel Syndrome to get out of control. So frustrating! Other than that, I would really recommend it. Best of luck to you, I hate the fatigue of this illness.
Hey all, The Psychiatrist said he was willing to treat the symptoms that I'm experiencing from the RA and FMS with Provigil (for fatigue) and Effexor XR (for pain). What do you all think?
First I want to tell everybody that I am loving the provigil. I don't seem to be having any side effects and I feel a huge difference on the days I have forgotten to take it. I'm on a 200 mg dose, I haven't looked yet to see if that's average or what. I have been taking it for about three weeks. Secondly I wanted to share that I have always had problems falling asleep and then staying asleep. This is even worse on shot nights, no clue why.

Among them are 2 I take, omeprazole (Prilosec) for GERD, and Lexapro. I'm asking for experiences with Provigil, the good, the bad and the ugly. I'm wondering if these cautions are included just to cover every possible contingency, or if serious side effects are common. In any case, I will take it only first thing in the morning. I don't want to go from sleeping my life away back to the horrible insomnia I used to have.
Rondi..I am in a similar situation such as yourself. I had been on Provigil for approximately a year and it helped me tremendously. I was able to look for employment again, seek out options for going bk to school, and I had much less social anxiety with friends, family, and the public. I also went on a much needed weight loss program and had lost 17 lbs. Then my insurance denied coverage and we are working on an appeal.
I may have MS, need to first await results of 2nd MRI of brain. I am tired, lack energy, and have "brain fog." I was wondering if Provigil might help me with this. Thank you!
I've been unable to tolerate other medications as they made me too jumpy. On Provigil I could only tolerate a small dose (had to cut the pill down - with permission from my doc). Provigil is more expensive than Nuvigil and many insurance companies won't cover Provigil. The drug company lowered the cost of Nuvigil to get people to switch. My week long testing of Nuvigil has been fantastic. It has greatly improved my mental cognition.
After getting the run around for months, my insurance company has now denied payment for Provigil. They refuse because using Provigil for MS fatigue is an "off the label" use for the medication. Any advice???
I don't have MS but I have had experience with real Provigil and fake Provigil BCBS won't cover Provigil, even with dramatic results of a sleep study and literally my going to sleep at the wheel.Even with excessive caffeine I never woke up and most of my days were spent napping. The authentic Provigil samples from the Doctor and the Modafinil, manufactured in Canada, sold at Walmart in US (BUT THE PILLS ARE STAMPED PROVIGIL) are not the same.
I have debilitating fatigue due to MS and have tried everything - Provigil, Amantadine, Adderall, Ritalin - the works. While Provigil helped for some time while I was still working, that was many years ago and its effectiveness eventually petered out. At the time, I was taking a very large dose in accordance to doctor's orders, and my side effects (heart palpitations, increased rate of speech, crashing, etc.) were quite bothersome.
Is this a common reaction for an adult on Adderall? She has an appt with her doctor next week to evaluate how she is doing on the Adderall. She is going to make it sound like it's the best thing that has happened to her. Are we wrong to be worried?
My neurologist prescribed me Adderall for fatigue. Has anyone else been prescribed this/has it helped? Thanks!
Hi, I need to quit adderall and am prescribed it by my doctor but I take too much. Do you have any suggestions for supplements, etc. that I can buy to help ease the withdrawl symptoms?
Hi Kathy I had the same problem with my insurance paying for the Provigil.. It would have cost me over $300 a month. $10 a pill , I bought three to see what they were like. I only took a half of one and felt strange, so I knew it wasn't for me. The next thing I tried was Ritalin . That made me very tense and sort of angry and some tachycardia.. now I'm on Adderall RX and its just right :). I started out with 5mg because of my rapid heart rate worries .
I went to every school they attended and checked out the school and teachers and carefully watched their diets so they wouldn't get too much sugar and junk so why would'nt I want to know what kind of mind altering drugs doctors, who have admittidily said they can't cure any mental conditions, are claiming my child needs to do better in life. Bottom line is Atterall and Dextro. made me short fused with my wife and fussy headed.
hi i have been on prozac and xanax since march 3 2010.my dr added adderall for refractory depression a little over a week ago,,,,i can tell not much difference....and im still having the slow unsteady walk from before the addderall...does anyone know how long it will take the adderall to help my depression,,,he is usinfg it off label....
I was diagnosed with MS about 6 months ago. I was prescribed Adderall by my nerologist to help me with my fatigue. Before I started taking the med I couldn't function after being awake for 8 hours and I was missing 2 to 3 days of work a week. Since I started taking it my productivity at work has increased, and I haven't missed any days. I also can have a social life now because I don't want to just go home and go to bed after work.
I would take the advice of many of the people on here and keep quiet regardless of who shows up or calls. Most people don't realize that Adderall is scheduled along with cocaine and most every other heavy weight prescription drug in schedule II. That's not something to start getting cute with by "coming clean" to the pharmacist. What if he didn't even suspect it was forged? Going back and clearing the air is just an admission of guilt.
I'm in week week 3 of the Vertex Prove 3. My docgave me a script 3 weeks ago for Provigil 100mg daily. I didn't fill it until last week and now have taken for 4 days, Ovweall I feel really good! I have more energy, focus and overall not as foggy or wanting to sleep. Provigil was originally developed to narclepsy. Many cancer patients are using Provigil of chemo. I'm not naieve after 4 days to this this is the thing to get me through tx....
So my pdoc 4 days ago made the dosage back to 25mg and added provigil to deal with the excessive numb feeling and lack of energy. On day one of provigil, I felt nothing first few hours, the usual bland dull depressed mood, and then in a while i felt nice..... felt mood elevated, felt for the first time in a while that the dysphoric veil was off me.... it lasted for well over an hour and gave way to focus..... I felt totally wired on it, felt nervous, almost a mental straitjacketed feeling....
I just thot till the WD passes, the RITALIN or PROVIGIL may help me feel semi nornal. WITH A HABBIT LIKE MINE, 4-6 VIC 10S PER DAY AVG, OVER 2-3 YEARS HOW LONG WILL THE WD TAKE TO PASS? I havent taken any opiates in 4 days, and it is getting better, very slowly, yet better.
