I tried Provigil at one time, but I never could tell that it did anything. Adderall is by far the strongest I think that I have tried. If you have troulbe with your heart from provigil, I would doubt that you could use the adderall at all. I didn't have any trouble switching off of Adderall though.

I was on tramadol and adderall at the same time without difficulty. Since provigil is similiar to adderall (or at least it is used for the same thing) it should be ok. It is best to get all your prescriptions at the same pharmacy. They will automatically find interactions.

I also was prescribed Ritalin because my insurance would not cover Provigil. I took it for a year, but it gradually became less effective. I have now moved on to Adderall. Unlike Provigil, the other two meds "kick in" much sooner. I occasionally "schedule" a dose if I know I need evening energy (the kind of energy required to go to a movie with your family). If I forget to take a dose, I am quickly reminded of how well they actually work.

This is my first day on Provigil, taking 200 mg this morning. This is an attempt to replace Adderall 15 to 30 mg per day. Provigil walloped my blood pressure. It dropped by 10 points when I check 12 hours after taking the first dose. I've been lethargic most of today. I finally took an Adderall so I could function.

Hi Bob, Adderall is an amphetamine, right? Do you have any weird side effects from it? And do you think you can become addicted to it? Our nurse coordinator and my neuro set me up with the one I'm on now, first, because they said all of the other ones are amphetamines. I haven't heard of this one before, so I'll have to look it up. My doctor originally said he was going to prescribe Provigil for me but after hearing all of my other symptoms (inability to stay focused and complete tasks...) he decided to start me on Adderall (10 mg 2x/day). This medication makes me feel very jittery and sometimes anxious.

What were your experiences with Ritalin, Provigil? How is Adderall different? Should I just expect to not feel sleepy or is it also going to help me remain focused, for instance when I'm in a meeting and have to participate in the discussion? The Savella 12.5mg made me sleepy from Day 1. When I took ity with the Plaquenil, I felt more sleepy, nauseated and woozy (if that's a real word) LOL. Thanks for sharing with me.

Rondi..I am in a similar situation such as yourself. I had been on Provigil for approximately a year and it helped me tremendously. I was able to look for employment again, seek out options for going bk to school, and I had much less social anxiety with friends, family, and the public. I also went on a much needed weight loss program and had lost 17 lbs. Then my insurance denied coverage and we are working on an appeal.

To obtain Provigil you have to have specific diagnoses. Medicare has a list of seven items that have to be checked off in the doctors progress notes to receive approval for anything. This medication is indicated for MS & Parkinson's disease. When I took Provigil, I would get to the pharmacy with a newly written prescription...the Pharmacist would say," the insurance company needs more information from the doctor".

I honestly had to look on the app I used to keep track of my meds to ever tell whether I'd taken it or not. For me? Waste of money. More help from coffee! I ended up putting it up my nose. She knows my history. My previous doctor would never even put me on Provigil, let alone Adderall. Had 3 days soluMedrol IV and while my legs could once again hold me, still alot of other stuff I'm dealing with such as increased pain, crushing fatigue, brain fogs. Usually I get a sustaining day-after-Provigil-effect so even the day following Provigil I have slightly more energy than usual - enough to get by. I do have to get more rest, though, later in the day on days when I take Provigil - or else I have really scary symptoms. I nap longer and go to bed earlier on the day of a Provigil dose. I had a mild form of cataplexy. I didn't even know I had it until I started the Xyrem! I used to take adderall but my blood pressue started going up. I read were they didn't even prescribe it in Canada d/t the side effects on your heart. So they switched it to Concerta. It doesn't work as well as the adderall but its better on my bp. I didn't realize you could take provigil and adderall at the same time. What does the Codeine do for you?
