provigil

797195 tn?1240579823 I have been living with MS for ten years and have been lucky. Between taking AVonex and Provigil my relapses are very few and far between. and also not severe.
968560 tn?1307451498 I was on tramadol and adderall at the same time without difficulty. Since provigil is similiar to adderall (or at least it is used for the same thing) it should be ok. It is best to get all your prescriptions at the same pharmacy. They will automatically find interactions.
Avatar f tn ve taken both Provigil and Adderall to help with the bad fatigue I get. I like Provigil a lot more than Adderall. It seems to have less severe side-effects for me. The only problem is that it causes my Irritable Bowel Syndrome to get out of control. So frustrating! Other than that, I would really recommend it. Best of luck to you, I hate the fatigue of this illness.
1100837 tn?1267668675 m experiencing from the RA and FMS with Provigil (for fatigue) and Effexor XR (for pain). What do you all think?
Avatar f tn I took Provigil with no success, then neuro moved to Adderall and tried two different strengths, both just made me sleepier. He is leaving me to just "naps" for the winter, since the heat seems to intensify my fatigue, and wants to try amantadine in the spring, when the heat and humidity return. It's different for each of us, and you just have to find the one that works for you. Fatigue is one of our number 1 pests.
429700 tn?1308007823 I don't have MS (so it appears), but I have quite a few similar symptoms, including dizziness and the related brain fog and fatigue. Back in 2000, neuro prescribed Provigil, saying "we used to use Ritalin for this" but that Provigil is now favored because of fewer side effects. Provigil was very helpful for both fatigue and cognition, although I didn't like the late-afternoon "letdown" effect I got with it. It was rather unpleasant.
871962 tn?1244730028 The medications I have used are provigil and adderall, and I don't take them every day, so tracking them would be helpful. (I currently take provigil.) Tracking the degree of sleepiness is also helpful, since I am sleepy almost every day and a yes/no doesn't do much. Others with narcolepsy might benefit from tracking sleep paralysis but fortunately I don't have that problem. That being said, I really like all the trackers here.
Avatar f tn I was recently put on adderall to help combat some of the excessive fatigue and trouble focusing I'm having related to my disease and medications. The doc choose this med over provigil because of cost. Does anyone have experience with taking either of these for excessive fatigue or focusing issues? I'd just like to know how it worked for you.
5509293 tn?1428531475 This is my first day on Provigil, taking 200 mg this morning. This is an attempt to replace Adderall 15 to 30 mg per day. Provigil walloped my blood pressure. It dropped by 10 points when I check 12 hours after taking the first dose. I've been lethargic most of today. I finally took an Adderall so I could function.
149081 tn?1242397832 Provigil had a similar effect on me. I would get a hyper feeling for a while and then just crash. Adderall has a similar problem for me but you can take it every four hours and control when the drop off will happen.
Avatar f tn Hello, my name is Leila. I read your post on Provigil and wanted to talk more with you. I have RA and Fibro with extreme fatigue, brain fog, and of course... pain. My doctor originally said he was going to prescribe Provigil for me but after hearing all of my other symptoms (inability to stay focused and complete tasks...) he decided to start me on Adderall (10 mg 2x/day). This medication makes me feel very jittery and sometimes anxious.
Avatar f tn s thread mentions this, and Shoshin describes it. I did try it and it had zilch effect. So did Provigil, for that matter. Yet since we're all so different what doesn't work for one can do wonders for the next person. At least Amantadine is very cheap, so it wouldn't be a big investment to give it a try.
Avatar f tn hi i have been on prozac and xanax since march 3 2010.my dr added adderall for refractory depression a little over a week ago,,,,i can tell not much difference....and im still having the slow unsteady walk from before the addderall...does anyone know how long it will take the adderall to help my depression,,,he is usinfg it off label....
Avatar f tn I am in a similar situation such as yourself. I had been on Provigil for approximately a year and it helped me tremendously. I was able to look for employment again, seek out options for going bk to school, and I had much less social anxiety with friends, family, and the public. I also went on a much needed weight loss program and had lost 17 lbs. Then my insurance denied coverage and we are working on an appeal.
760131 tn?1238217597 the suboxone did wonders at first but then after a while i just started feeling more and more down. so when i got the adderall i was perscribed 10mg. twice a day to start and said she would see me back in a month. well its almost time to go back but ive been abusing it. taking anywhere from 40-60mg daily. i know that i dont need that much i guess its just the addict in me. but it does help. im not as depressed. im more patient with my kids.
405614 tn?1329144114 I have done some research and talked with a doctor friend, and was told that Adderall (sp?) has less of the bad side effects than Ritalin, though they are both likely to increase heart rate. I suppose that if we cannot get the Provigil approved, I would be interested in trying Adderall, starting at a low dose. I am leaving for two weeks on Maui starting January 1, and would like to have energy for the trip.
Avatar f tn Hey. Keep your head up, there's a lot you can do to work with this. Feeling defeated and depressed comes along with a sleep disorder, I know. I'm just a couple years younger than you. The same things happened to me. I was so smart but all my grades started falling because I could never get anything done. Everyone thought I was just lazy- I thought I was just lazy. But I was tired all the time and unmotivated. See a sleep specialist.
405614 tn?1329144114 I received a letter of denial for Provigil coverage after a free week's trial (from the drug company). The Provigil made a world of difference, but is really expensive. My other option is Ritalin, and I don't like the sound of the side effects. I had no negative ones from Provigil.
667078 tn?1316000935 I was put on Provigil years ago and found that at first I thought it helped - anything helped, due to being so paralyzed with fatigue. However, the way it effects me, turned out to be counterproductive. I wouldn't really get any energy until very late in the day - then couldn't sleep at night. I tried several other drugs and finally settled on Methylphenidate - Ritalin. I like it the best.
1100837 tn?1267668675 m experiencing from the RA and FMS with Provigil (for fatigue) and Effexor XR (for pain). What do you all think?
Avatar f tn My old doctor left recently and I have a new doctor who put me on Provigil. It was disastrous. I cried constantly and felt exhausted after small spurts of energy. I couldnt focus and I was nervous. I was very depressed, also. After this, she thought about putting me back on the drug I abused a few years ago, Adderall. Of course, my eyes lit up. I loved this drug. It worked wonderfully for me. I ended up putting it up my nose. She knows my history.
Avatar f tn t cure any mental conditions, are claiming my child needs to do better in life. Bottom line is Atterall and Dextro. made me short fused with my wife and fussy headed. Provigil in the beginning showed a definete increase in my ability to focus and concentrate for long periods of time. However, after about 10 days on it, it to began to alter my basic self. Drugging school children is not about helping them, its about silencing them.
400099 tn?1282954864 m glad your doc is treating the fatigue, but I wonder why the Ritalin instead of the usually more favored Provigil. Have you tried and failed Provigil or something? Yes, people have been helped by Ritalin and it's (better, I think) cousin Adderall for the symptoms of Cog Fog and the ADD it can cause. I'll be interested in hearing how well it works for fatigue. I thank the stars for you finding such a good doctor. They are a treasure!
Avatar f tn I saw my PCP today, and he told me Provigil was VERY expensive, $500.00 a month and insurance co would fight it, and even then my co-pay would be out of sight. He started me on a perscription of Bontril. I took one about 11:30 today, and had no problems today at work. I'm excited about this, I sure hope it works. I do have to see him every month to get a refill, as it does have some serious side-effects. But I really need the feeling of wakefullness and energy it gave me today.
807506 tn?1248649733 I had a mild form of cataplexy. I didn't even know I had it until I started the Xyrem! I used to take adderall but my blood pressue started going up. I read were they didn't even prescribe it in Canada d/t the side effects on your heart. So they switched it to Concerta. It doesn't work as well as the adderall but its better on my bp. I didn't realize you could take provigil and adderall at the same time. What does the Codeine do for you?
Avatar f tn s all that drug does for me (keeps me awake for the most part but no energy to move). I have been on 40-60mg adderall for 20yrs and wonder if I have done damage to my dopamine receptors and thus the reason I feel like I can't move, even though physically, I can. Anyone else with narco or that's been on adderall for so long, feel this way? I really really really need help.
