Her pcp did stool samples (-), a U/a (-), and bloodwork (normal except slightly inc. SED rate-23). He referred to GI who rec. Prevacid 15 mg 2x/day and follow-up in 2 months. He said ulcer can't be r/o w/o scope which he will do if not better, but that Prevacid should help.
My instincts tell me it's not a GI thing. I asked about low blood sugar since snacking sometimes helps. Both drs said hypoglycemia is over-dx'd and treated, and didn't think this was her issue.

I have been suffering from anxiety for several years. The severity of it changes. Sometimes I'm anxiety free, other times I'm a wreck. For the past 6 months I've been suffering bad anxiety. My anxiety used to only occur during the day, but now it's happening during the night (for the past 3 months or so). I used to sleep a straight 8-9 hours, no problem. Now I sleep only 1-2 hours at a time.
My daughter also takes pentasa and WAS taking prevacid. The prevacid didn't seem to help her and our GI switched her to prilosec. My daughter has had no complaints with the prilosec. Both prevacid and prilosec have the same actions so they do the same things. The only interaction that I know of with prevacid and penicillin is with a type of penicillin called Ampicillin and it may inhibit the absorption of the prevacid.
neurologist gave me antidepressants but too many risks so im not takin them. and the GI gave me prevacid for my GERD. all this started happening after my favorite pet bird lulu died and i sunk into deep depression and anxiety.
I am having a problem with taking my Prevacid 4 hrs. after Synthroid. Right now my routine is to take Synthroid when I first get up and 6 AM. an hour later eat something void of fiber (usually egg sub.) The 4 hrs. later I take the Prevacid and have another small meal (cereal usually). The problem is something is causing a bad taste to come back in to my mouth sometime after all this and I am thinking it is because the Prevacid really is not being taken prior to eating.

I just went to the doctor to get blood tests and make sure that my drinking has not already damaged my body beyond repair. My doctor gave me Prevacid for some stomach issues I have been Having. Does anyone know if it is safe to take it when I have been drinking? I am really trying to stop but I am having problems with the withdrawls so I am trying to wean myself off. Any one have any opinions? I would hate to do more damage when I ma trying to correct already done damage.

Is anyone else having hypoglycemia (which is low blood sugar abt an hr or 2 after meals)? I'm 26wks and been having it for around a week now.How do u usually deal with it when it strikes?
Hi - I'm new here. I have pre-diabetes (about 2 years now) and have autoimmune degenerative neuropathy (CIDP for 26 years) unrelated to diabetes. I am not overweight, and am 32 years of age. My question is: does inflammation in the nervous system cause alterations in glucose metabolism? I'm currently having multiple daily bouts of hypoglycemia - my doctors can't/won't answer my question. I'm taking IVIG, Imuran and Ultram - no steroids or antidiabetics.
71 is normal but again I felt horrible, weak, shaky, anxiety, etc. Could this be something other than Hypoglycemia? Before I had lunch I ran 2.5 miles on the treatmill and felt fine so this is beginning to puzzle me.
(I think he was embarassed to call and say I was having leg cramps). I told him this was something more than just leg cramps. The hypoglycemia episode followed by SEVERE leg cramps and then nausea concerns me. I have hypoglycemia episodes once or twice a week but do try and control the with diet and excercise. Sometimes I really do not know why they come, yesterday was one of those instances. I have NEVER had any sort of cramps or nausea following an episode. Is this normal? Common?
I have a follow up appointment with my doctor tomorrow question is is this something that I would have to take medication for regularly while pregnant. I already feel I'm taking too much medication now antibiotics for tooth infection plus tylenol #3 something for nausea prenatal vitamins and now this hypoglycemia. through all this I'm just praying that my baby is healthy.
I would see your doctor about this very soon, as folks with hypoglycemia may develop diabetes later on. You may have pre-diabetes, and need to go on a diabetic diet. Meanwhile, make sure you have both protein and carbohydrates with all meals, and with all snacks, which you seem to be doing. You also might need to get a dietary consult and/or see an endocrinologist, for both are specially trained in working with people with blood sugar problems.
I HAVE HAD HYPOGLYCEMIA FOR OVER 7 YEARS. CAN I TURN INTO A DIABETES. I HAVE BEEN GETTING SYSTMON OF DIABETES BUT MY GLUCOSA TEST COMES OUT LOW OF 62 FASTING IN THE MORNING .MY HANDS AND FEET FALL ASLEEP AT NIGHT. I HAVE TROUBLE WALKING MY LEGS HURT ESPECIAL IF I SIT FOR A WHILE.
I was also prescribed Lexapro, Lamictal, and Welbutrin for dystymia and anxiety. I recently taperd off the Lexapro. I now have all the symptoms of hypoglycemia: tingling in lips (its constant, no break) and dizziness at just the slightest turn of the head, heart rate that is averaging 100 beats per minute (this has been constant not in little bursts for about three days now), and tightness in the chest/lung area, slight muscular type pain during deep breathing (also for about 5 days now).
