Prevacid gluten free

Common Questions and Answers about Prevacid gluten free

prevacid

Avatar m tn two of them had reflux and had to take prevacid. Once they had been gluten free for about a year, they were able to go off the prevacid. I've considered dropping wheat and milk because i hear that it helps with chronic pain.
Avatar f tn There are a ton of books out there for this, as it's quite a fad these days even for people who don't have Celiac, so I'd look into that. But cooking gluten free isn't any different from cooking with gluten unless you're making bread or cookies -- most foods don't contain gluten so you're already eating mostly gluten free unless all you eat is bread and pasta.
Avatar f tn s is a brand of gluten free baked goods you may find pretty good. Canyon Bake House makes a terrific gluten free rosemary focaccia bread that is actually soft and not crumbly.
6822962 tn?1396329659 My doctor put me on Zantac and have been using it more than recommended because it isn't working. I only eat raisen brand, shredded wheat and fruit. No matter what I get acid so bad I throwup. Tonight I picked up Prevacid at the store. I haven't asked my doctor because I am such high risk. I can't take this anymore with the throwing up. Is anyone else taking prevacid and when did you start taking it ? How is baby since you have been taking it ?
Avatar f tn Luckily many grocery stores around me carry gluten free foods and there is a strict gluten free/dairy free/vegan bakery close by if I get a sweet tooth.
Avatar f tn a scope showed reflux and only one area that could possible indicate celiac. we were going to put her onb prevacid for 3 months and run a Ttg blood test, but it was the end of the year, we had met our stop loss, so I had 4 of my children tested to start with---3 of them were positive for celiac---our family haws cooked mostly gluten free for about 7 years now. We got in on a celiac study, and discovered that my hubby and I and 8 of my 9 children all carry one of the main celiac genes.
Avatar f tn By February, my stomach started seeming to bloat really bad after meals. I went to see an Urgent Care doctor and they prescribed me with Prevacid, as well as trying to order some xrays, a barium swallow, etc. But I followed up with my primary doctor and she told me that I should just take the Prevacid and not worry about the xrays and such. That acid reflux is "normal" and Prevacid will help it. And it did. Or maybe I was thinking it was. Until I ran out of it about 3 weeks ago.
Avatar f tn I didn't know that soap could have gluten, what brands are gluten free? And what is the address for the gluten fee oats? I will have to get some. The doctor we saw yesterday thinks this current problem is a severe acid problem and are treating him with Prevacid and Mylanta to calm his stomach. We will have to see if they are correct, it can take awhile to see an improvement they said. I hope they are right and he gets better this weekend, but who knows.
Avatar f tn My instructions are to completely avoid soy products. I am not suppose to have fiber for 4 hours after med so stick with omelete of egg beaters, fat free cheese and deli ham. Not sure what could be high protein, no fiber at this time.
Avatar n tn Started Prevacid and also Strattera for ADD. We were able to wean off of the Prevacid and just stick to Strattera, as our peds thinks the Strattera helps him with the anxiety related to the GERD, and therefore he had no complaints of symptoms of GERD. In March we went off of the Strattera, and within 4 weeks the symptoms of GERD re-appeared ( Not eating, coughing, feeling like something is caught in his throat.) We went back on Strattera and Prevacid.
Avatar f tn Is it possible/ recommended to do a gluten free diet crossed with a calorie controlled diet? I was thinking of cutting carbs also but if I have to have them they have to be gluten free? Is that recommended ? Or is there any other way to do it?
Avatar f tn Wow...you are right on the money. You made me feel so much better. So, this doesn't mean I am going to get cirrhosis? That is my main concern. You really helped me! Last time I got my vitamin D level checked, it was low, so the doctor put me on 50,000,00IU/week. I am taking slow fe iron but willing to try anything that helps that is gluten free and doesn't taste like a frying pan lol.

Male My doctor has told me I need to move to a gluten-free diet....yikes!!! All my life (and that is a very long time--ha ha) I have generally eaten whatever I wanted to eat. This change to a GF diet seems like such a huge mountain to climb. I know there are many others who have had to change to a GF diet after a lifetime of eating what they wanted with little or no restrictions. How does a person even get started on a change like this? What do you do when you go out to eat at a restaurant?
Avatar f tn My doctor suggested that I stop eating gluten. I have been gluten free for 2 1/2 days and I'm so hungry. My stomach is growling constanly. I have purchased gluten free crakers, pasta, and bread so I'm eating some carbs. Does this feeling go away after your body adjusts? I have more brain fog than ever and I just feel so weak. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn I'm curious as to whether or not the casein and gluten-free diet is one that needs to be adhered to for the entirety of a person's life who has autism and has found it to help? What happens if my son's autism improves because of this diet but he goes back to consuming casein and gluten some day? Will his autistic symptoms reappear or have they been cured?

1202943 tn?1347840652 I just wanted to pass on some of my favorite Gluten free finds. I am trying to eat mostly fresh veggies, fruit, eggs, & proteins. Sometimes I just need crackers, pasta, or a quick bar to grab as a snack. My favorite new find for crackers are Sweet Potato chips: Food should taste good brand. Favorite pasta is a Quinoa pasta: Quinoa Corporation. Favorite bar is Larabar: Small Planet Foods. Oskri Fiber Bar, Cashews and Cranberries is amazing and has 12 gram of fiber.
702620 tn?1228445760 You may also want to consider that the blood test and the biopsy may not pick up signs of celiac issues despite what some in the medical profession say. Try a gluten-free diet for a few weeks and see if it makes a difference. Then, if you want further verification, go to enterolab.com and use he fecal antibody test to check for celiac and the presence of alleles that suggest a genertic predisposition.
Avatar m tn Please check into it...a Gluten Free diet could change all your lives!
Avatar f tn I bough two books the other day, one on gluten-free cooking and one on smoothies and juice drinks. They both talk about how to keep up the vitamins and everything a normal person needs when you're on a restricted diet. I have to either fix my blender, though, or I need to get a new one. But either way, I think it would be a good investment considering that I need the nurishment...
Avatar m tn You know, I've been considering going gluten free again, since I do remember feeling well as I did that. But the good feeling went away after I suddenly became completely resistant to Prevacid, so I wasn't convinced that gluten free was the way to go.
780647 tn?1304020942 Find alternatives to your normal gluten foods. For example buy gluten free cereals, pasta, and bread (some of these are only found at certain stores). Also read every single label of everything you eat (things you wouldn't expect like soy sauce are not gluten free). Also don't eat out at any restaurants while you are trying the gluten free diet. Let me know if you have any other questions.
1202943 tn?1347840652 I decided I wanted to feel better and was willing to try a gluten free diet. I have never been tested for CD, but I noticed I felt better being gluten free. Every time I cheat I don't feel so good. I don't have many of the digestive issues, but I feel sluggish, achy, have more allergies, and bloated. It's amazing all the info I've found online. I've even read that some people think gluten can trigger Graves'.
Avatar f tn Has any one had success with a gluten free casine free diet? We are about to try it under the support from an integrated medical doctor and dietitian. Does any one have any good result stories or otherwise?
