Prevacid and arthritis

Common Questions and Answers about Prevacid and arthritis

prevacid

I'm currently take Z-Pack for a sinus infection, Prevacid, Atenolol, Atarax and Ativan. Over the years, I've had a great number of tests (boxes and boxes full). More recently, I've had a brain and neck MRI, Extensive (I mean VERY extensive blood work), A full exam by an Opthamologist, a full exam by a Neurologist and about a week ago I went to the ER and got checked out there by the supervising doctor.
the ER doctor I was sent to see diagnosed me with arthritis of the spine. In in attempt to diagnose me in the last 2 days, I have now bee diagnosed with pleuricy, GERD, viral flu and ostoearthritis. I was sent home with Lortab, Soma, Phenergan and a referral to a back clinic for possible spinal surgery if my symptoms don't go away. The meds don't help, and the symptoms are still there.
i just take prevacid and tylenol arthritis, myalanta when needed i have acid reflux from a hiatal hernia. I am exhusted the headaches were really bad that i cried and walked for hours.
Getting tests done to see if I have arthritis. Was just wondering which of the drugs is easiest on the stomach, as I get indigestion quite bad from most NSAIDS. Any idea's? Need to take them, but need to know how without causing stomach problems.
My now 16yr old had a small ulcer from arthritis meds a few yrs ago ... she takes Prevacid to this day as needed while my other daughter now takes Prilosec 20mgs. NExium is a next in line defense med if Prilosec or Prevacid don't work .. you can get diareaha from Prilosec or Prevacid so keep that in mind .... How many mgs of Prilosec are you on? Gaviscon is great to help coat the esophagus and prevent acid from burning. Don't know about Armour sorry :( ..
I was diagnosed with gastritis a year ago and told to take PrevAcid...but my copay for it is $100 for 30 pills. I am supposed to take it twice a day, so that means $200 a month. I simply cannot afford it and so have been going without for about 9 months. Yes, it's painful, but I've learned to deal with it. I went to my primary care doc because I was having severe pain/stiffness in my hands.
she is borderline dehydrated and nauseated and taking Prevacid and white/green/grey in color .... she is not vomiting which is good news but weak and sleeping and bad cramps. Her Dr. prescribed Levbid (anti-spasmodict) which really isn't doing anything but making her feel more nauseated and dizzy. I am giving her ice chips ... I'm concerned .... any ideas, hints? I know many of you on the board have it so I hope you don't mind me reaching out to my friends vs.
The head pain might be coming from your neck. If you have some arthritis or a herniated or bulging disc in your cervical spine that could cause that. I have 2 in my neck, and I get all sorts of strange head/neck/upper back pains. They come and go, and when I turn my head it sort of cracks. Maybe the disc is bad on the left, and that's why it hurts there. I get the rib cage pain also from fibromyalgia, along with chest pain. For the GERD, do you take anything?
The ER physician didn't think it was heart related and gave me a GI cocktail and prescription to Prevacid. Over the next 5 months, I've never had that extreme pain again. I switched from Prevacid to Zantac. I still get that constant ache, but not in the morning. I can make the pain come if I lean forward too far or push my shoulders inward. It sometimes comes if I take a very deep breath.
At times had tingling in my toes and finger tips. I have taken Prevacid for over 15 years for GERD. I went to the doctor and he took x rays of my legs/knees and back. He determined my problem was arthritis. I told him I know what the arthritis pain in the knee joints feels like but this in in my shins, calves and sometimes thighs. He told me the joint pain is radiating from my arthrictic knees and suggested therapy. I mentioned a couple articles I read about the causes of leg pain.
My daughter at age 10 had a small ulcer and had the hunger pangs and gained 1lb a week. Prevacid healed it with Carafate and she is fine, but did gain 1-2lbs week which at the time was written off as lack of exercise due to an arthritis condition which was the culprit in itself causing the ulcer (anti-inflammatory meds!!!!).
Post surgery I had a few complications including nerve damage in my leg and pelvic arthritis. I was on percocet lyrica and cymbalta. Once the nerve damage got better I stopped the lyrica and cymbalta. After going back to work after surgery, I was afraid of taking percocet (im a teacher) so the dr gave me tramadol. 2 weeks ago I had steroidal injections in my pelvis and asked for something stronger because the tramadol wasnt working.
As short a time as possible, I hope,...but, I was wondering....for those with arthritis (which it usually prescribed for,,).....are you on it daily? As an ongoing medication? I hope to go off it to avoid risks with prolonged usage, but up to now...it has not caused me any problems. I am taking with Prevacid to make sure it doesn;t upset my stomach.
I have a history of Allergic Rhinitis, Chronic Sinusitis, a deviated septum, GAD, OCD, Hypochindria, Tourettes Syndrome, GERD, IBS, Cervical Arthritis and Panic Disorder. My Tourettes causes me to jerk my head back and forth and side-to-side many times each day and as you can imagine, this is not good when you have cervical arthritis and a bone spur. I can sometimes hear a crack or pop when my Tourettes is really bad or when I turn my head to far the wrong way.
GERD medication not resolving the issue. Have tried Prevacid, Protonix, Aciphex, Omeprazole and OTCs. Prevacid worked best but still doesn't resolve. Mild dizziness off & on, cleared up in a week or two. Endoscopy performed without biopsy (grrrr, should have biopsied) -- normal. Not even signs of GERD. GERD still suspected by general. Prevacid continued.
The only other health issue I have is Rheumatoid Arthritis, which Cleveland Clinic diagnosed, Thank you! Is middle back pain a common sympton GERD and is that because of pressure from the air/gas/acid? Thank you for your help.
I am having trouble concentrating and when I get the least bit nervous or upset or happy, the tremor comes back. I have Fibromyalgia, Asthma, Arthritis, Acid Reflux, Complicated Migraine headaches. I take Zoloft, Prevacid, Arthrotec, Bumex, Potassium, Singular and just recently Adavan, and Pred. I work as a Vet Tech at a small Animal Hospital. I am very concerned that I will not be able to do my duties at the job I love. I am very weak and get confused easily, which is not like me at all.
He looked at the CT and Ultrasound results and diagnosed GERD along with another prescription for more Prevacid. (Mind you the Prevacid seemed to be helping that's why I was continually prescribed it.) Well since I worked as a temp, I didn't have medical insurence so I would go on and off the Prevacid and anytime I went off it the stomach pain, irregular bowl movements, bouts of on and off diarrhea and GERD would return with a vengance!
Did you experience brain fog? That is one thing that I'm glad also goes away. I got arthritis and oesteopeania along with the AIH. My joint pain has been better since I was put on PrevacidNapraPac. I am now just on Imuran, I did not like the side effects of prednesone. I am doing very well on Imuran and at my last Drs appointment am now in remission. I will say that I still have a bad day now and then. If I need a nap I take it. If I can help you let me know.
Hi, Here is a cut and paste...hope this info helps alittle, Ulcerative colitis is a condition where there is inflammation and the development of sores (ulcers) on the lining of the large bowel (colon and rectum). Ulcerative colitis does not involve the small bowel. When the condition persists over a long period of time, new inflammation and ulcers continue to form and the old inflammation and ulceration results in significant scarring of the bowel lining.
He's tried Prevacid in case this is reflux but it had no effect. He's seen an allergist, his pediatrician, a pediatric pulmonoligist and an ENT. He is currently getting Zyrtec and Nasonex once a day. My concerns stem from the fact that along with these coughing episodes, it is one particular lymph node that swells up every time, and is very hard, the one right behind his left ear. The nodes in his neck swell as well but they stay soft and generally decrease in size after a couple days.
esophagitis), swollen/inflamed abdominal lymph nodes (mesenteric), achy joints. i have been dx with hashimotos and hypothyroidism. rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia are suspected. i see the rheumatologist on friday. i've seen that there are a ton of auto-immune inflammatory diseases, do i fit any others? i also have hot/cold flashes, brain fog, difficulty concentrating/remembering. had to drop out of college last year so close to my ba because i just could not get thru my classes.
Hi everyone Middle-aged male here with a long history of anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, Hypochondria, Tourettes, Gastritis, GERD, Chronic Sinusitis, Allergic Rhinitis, Cervical Arthritis, Lactose Intolerance and IBS. I also have quite a bit of stress in my life and am very stress-intolerant. I'm currently taking Ativan, Atenolol, Prevacid and Astelin nasal spray. I'm an ex-smoker. An ex-alcoholic and I've been on various meds over the years.
I have severe arthritis in both SI joints, several lower vertebrae, and now it's in my hips. I've been working, but have used more leave than I earned (govt employees can carry over), so I know it's only a matter of time before I have to retire. What are the Drs giving you for pain? For years I've been making do with muscle relaxers and Darvocet. My GP finally gave me Percocet and that helps more than anything.
These magical pills seem to have an answer for any uncomfortable health conditions, whether it is allergies, rashes, depression, social anxiety, menstrual cramps or arthritis. In the Valtrex ad, you'll often see a woman swinging on a swing, smiling, riding a bike, twirling around, walking hand in hand through the green fields with her lover and glowing with the satisfaction that comes from taking her herpes medication. Who needs condoms when you have herpes creams?
I'm a 28 year old male, with IDDM for 17 years and rheumatoid arthritis for the past 10. Current meds include humalog, lantus, micardis, methotrexate, mobic, prevacid, folic acid, and prn pain medication. This lightheadness is not associated directly with blood glucose levels or pain medications.
I have gotten rid of the burning pains in my body except for the arthritis at my spine. I no longer take any meds, especially Prilosec or Prevacid. I have gotten rid of my digestive symptoms by eating Organic foods, lots and lots of veggies, fruits by themselves in the mornings; meats sparingly and not eaten with high carbohydrate foods. Very little beef, no pork; just chicken, turkey and some fish and then only every other day.
//gerd.emedtv.com/prevacid/prevacid-side-effects.html Stop taking previcide for some days and see if the symptoms persist. You said that on 2 occasions your Epstein Barr numbers were high in your blood. This is also a cause of concern. Are you having symptoms of fever, sore throat, swollen lymph glands or sudden and rapid weight loss?
I have had ganglion cysts and clicking in my fingers as well as joint soreness and pain in my hands. My mother has arthritis and my grandmother had it. Does arthritis run in your family? I was told by my hand surgeon that he has seen many diabetics with the same problems as me. I guess what I am trying to say is he didn't have proven tests, but theories that diabetes and hand or joint pain could be connected. I am also doing some research on lupus and arthritis.
I also have rheumatoid arthritis which adds to my problems. I take Plaquenil, 200 mgs twice a day for the arthritis. Also medication for high blood pressure and synthroid for thyroid. I wonder if all or some of this medication is contributing to my condition. It is my belief that now days it is the habit of the medical profession to treat one disease at a time no matter what havoc that might cause on another condition you have.
