advil is a minor anti inflammatory I have never heard of it prescribed for this before but it could help a little I suppose more widely prescribed for GM are some of the big anti inflammatories - particularly prednisone or methotrexate I did take Naproxen for some time, (months at a pretty high dose - it really attacks your stomach lining though so I went off), which I guess is a step up from advil, and is a non steroidal anti inflammatory (NSAID), can't say if it helped with the inflamma

The Prednisone I took in combination with antibiotics finally eliminate my sinus infection (it was a side of the treatement and I have suffered a lot from that), since then I don't have any more the sinus problem and don't have anymore fever (only once in few days), so I am not using any more Paracetamol or other fever reducer.

Eat with everything you take - take it with a large class of milk, eat crackers, or something. Advil will also eat your stomach. Speak to the pharmacist about your discomfort and if you can take any OTC meds and when and how to take them. I take steroids to live and you can only take the acid reducers in a certain way in order not to reduce the potency of the other meds you are on. Talk to your doctor as well - but eat.

I take 800 ADVIL when the pain gets really bad and when it is unbearable I go on PREDNISONE for 7 days. I do not do the prednisone more than 2X a year.

s, I will take an advil and I usually start feeling better. I mentioned this to my PCP once and he said Ibuprofen has many effects on the body, it's not just a fever reducer/pain reliever so it very well could be effecting the heart. It makes me wonder if it has anything to do with blood pressure (although mine is usually very low 90/60). Any thoughts?

I dont know if this has anything to do with my symptoms, but my 6 year old son climbed into bed with me and proceeded to elbow me in the lip quite hard. Started out upper respiratory and after 2 months went on prednisone for 12 days.....40 mgs for 7 days, 20mgs for 5. I am a basket case at the moment...withdrawal phase. I refuse to take the prednisone but my doctor says it is the first choice since IVIG are so expensive. I would rather go with the IVIG by IV's than do another dose of prednisone.
