My sister has crohns disease so she had to take meds I think even prednisone...her babies were fine she had a c section for both and couldn't breastfeed tho but they were fine...just small babies...but healthy...they are big boys now...
If they itch but you don't mind the way they look, put the cortisone cream stuff. If they itch/hurt and you don't like the way they look, take the prednisone and go see a doctor. I see an allergist that my physician referred me to. The allergist has other patients with chronic hives and even had a break out himself so it works out nicely for me. I hear even a dermetologist can help you as well.
Now I am trying naturally and I have prednisone in my medicine cabinet and will take it on day 9 or sO and continue. I don't see a problem with it personally but you can't stop taking it cold turkey. Make sure you wean yourself off slowly.
I am a liver transplant recipient and am currently taking prograf, prednisone and cellcept (among other drugs). My doctors advised me to switch to imuran from cellcept when i want to get pregnant. Since it is listed as category D, it makes me very nervous. In your experience have you treated women who had healthy babies while they were on imuran during their pregnancies?
People with myositis have increased blood levels of creatine kinase (CK, a substance that leaks from injured muscle), abnormal electrical activity of muscles (seen in an electromyogram, or EMG), and muscle cell degeneration and inflammation that is found in a muscle biopsy. Prednisone or other cortisone-like drugs are most often recommended for the treatment of myositis, and may be used in combination with other immune-suppressing drugs.
I'm a 36 year old female, I get sick since december 2005 from Auto-Inmmune Hepatitis, I'm taking Prednisone since 2 weeks ago. I ask the specialist if I can have more babies in my condicion and need to be by IFV since a get tubal tied when I was 23 years old I'm a mother of two 16 and 13 years old, from my first marriage.
I forgot to add to my post that my babies are scheduled to start a mother's day out program at the end of May and I think they have to be up to date on their shots. I think the chicken pox one can be put off but I don't know about the MMR.
I went on a 5 day course of prednisone and that did the trick; I was lucky though -- for many it can last much longer, but it usually clears up when the pressure eases up on the nerve. I'm sure you were given advice about using artificial tears and also to tape your eye shut at night. It feels so strange and scary to lose control of half of your face. I hope it resolves quickly.
Prednisone worn off i think---Body regressing today, Numbness runnng up legs again, hermittes sign getting stonger, Dizziness setting in, hard to look around and keep balance. Took gravol and vitamins. This has gottago--Cant look after 2 babies like this.
DH has asked me to get some opinions from you gals on here since you've been so wonderful with all of your support and sadly have been through this yourselves. I'm at a crossroads here and considering there isn't much money left or emotions, we could really use an opinion in where to go from here. How many times do you keep doing the same thing hoping for different results but fail time after time?
, and i pray to God to protect all woman who is pregnant and is having liver problem that they and their babies will always be in perfect health and they will have a healthy baby.
Do you think the low blood sugars may have caused the demises? My OB has suggested Heparin and Prednisone if I get pregnant again dispite all test results coming out negative for any problems. Just thyroid antibodies as I have Hypo Thyroid as well. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas on this could you please reply. It would be greatly appreciated.
I was suppose to fix the babies grave and put the rocks and so on on memorial day weekend. Everything is still in the jeep so not so much to pack up other than all the babies(3 dogs and a cat) Because of Prednisone IV i end up staying home on memorial day weekend, so fun visit starts with long drive. Heading there today(almost 5hr driving, used to love driving & still love driving but can't drive alot due to condition). Should be back by sunday.
But I have a wonderful hubby and life so chin up ladies. I also keep dreaming of babies and breast feeding, so it's definately in our sub-concious............. fingers crossed for all.
Hi I did IUI on Saturday and am now doing the dreadful 2WW and I am already feeling discouraged but not defeated. I have PMS signs and it sucks cuz IF and WHEN AF shows up I'm gonna feel like burying my self under my sheets and never waking up. Don't mean to seem negative but today I am feeling prety down. Anyhow good luck to both of us.
I've been taking 500mg metformin myself and I have not experienced any weight loss. I am actually taking it for diabetes treatment. But it has not helped with my weight loss.
I took prednisone post TP for some time and then tapering off, that's logical, I'm with you there. I asked my doc if we could taper off tx, extending past 48 weeks, since we tapered into the ribavirin at the start of tx. However, the clinical study protocol was to end with SOC, last shot followed by a week of riba. Anyway, I'm nearly 3 wks post tx and I've got a bit of a bug. It came on about 1 wk after EOT. I had a biopsy and while I was there I asked the doc for some antibiotics.
Then I went to an ENT specialist and he ordered a CT Scan. That's how we found out what was wrong. He put me on steroid Prednisone and it took care of the problem. However, I no longer have the smell and taste senses. You will also find that you will need a eye exam. Your vision may worsen. But you have to wait at least six months after chemo to do that. So anyways, life will never quit be the same but what is our alternative. :) sorry I took so long to get back to you.
Hi, I have been on Effexor XR for 3 years and I have gained about 40-50pounds, most when my dose was increased to 225, now I am on 75mg b/c I'm getting ready to wean off the medicine in a couple of weeks, and I haven't lost anything yet. My eating habits have not changed and I exercise. I have always been underweight and I could eat whatever I wanted...I'm only 26 years old...I know my metabolism has changed some, but not enough to pack on 40 pounds.
I also have a stressful job, a mountain of bills, an alcoholic husband that has the emotional maturity of a 12 year old. Between the two of us we have 4 kids and 5 grankids with a sixth on the way. I love the babies but I can barely pick up even the little ones. My husband alternates between denial and "You need to see another doctor". I am taking him to my next appointment. I think he thinks I am wanting to blame a lot of things on Lupus that shouldn't be.
For the last 6 months I have been getting tearing (look like paper cuts) in my vaginal area (1/4 to 1/2 inch long). I get the tears at least once or twice a week and they last from 2-4 days, go away for a few days and then come back. They continue to occur in the same locations; 1. Inside the vaginal lips on the sides almost always in the crease (between the labia minora and majora?) 2. Between the anus and vaginal opening (perineum) 3. Above the clitoris in the "hood" area.
I hope it bleedin works!! It makes sense the interferon kicked me into high gear and hopefully prednisone will kick it back down. There are side effects, I've just got to google for a good list. Sleep time, up in Regina it's 12:00!! Thankyou DD and califia for the links, have started with "choices". Very impressed (and free!!
I was on prednisone and lovenox to prevent blood clots and immun issues which I think got me the furthest I've made it in pregnancy. I'm sure he will do it again if he thinks there is a reason to try again.
We have been treating her kidney failure with sub-q injections beginning twice daily and progressing to three when her blood work came back worse than when we started. Now our vet has told us she will most likely succumb to the kidney failure before her heart gives out. My friend is a vet in the town we live in (our vet is an hour away-but worth it) and when I ran her blood work by her she told me to be prepared to make a decision in two weeks.
I have some questions about Vit D and MS. 1) What is your opinion in the role Vit D may play in the development of MS? Vit D deficiency is sometimes seen in MS patients. Is this a proven fact? 2) Do people with normal Vit D levels develop MS too? In other words, if they had the proper Vit D levels their whole lives, would they go on to develop MS? 3) And what causes Vit D deficiency in a person?
I have had two miscarriages in a row after having three healthy babies and I am pregnant now and afraid that I will miscarry again. I hope all of you have healthy babies soon.
(makes you ragged out in the morning though) 5) Prednisone would probably really help with the rash and itch, it had the power to turn off a powerful drug allergy (caused by the VX). But unfortunately it's an immunosuppressant, so you'd want to avoid it if at all possible (especially since you're only doing 12 weeks of treatment).
The plan is to lower the prednisone and up the methotrexate later this month. I'm willing to try anything and there is some research out there on the combo that is hopeful. But this is up to u I think there's no easy answers and everyone has different experiences with meds and this disease.
Some teas can reduce absorption of vitamins. The MOST important vitamins and minerals for both you and the baby are Folic acid, iron and calcium. It is important to get moderate exercise, avoid smoking, and alcohol, and have a healthy well balanced diet with plenty of protein. It will be very important to watch your blood pressure carefully as your pregnancy progresses, and watch carefully for any signs of swelling in the legs! Good luck and best wishes!
I was tested for ovarian cancer with vag. ultra sound, had barium enema, and ct. all showed nothing and it resolved on its own.Nothing I did worked. I am having the probems again, missed 2 periods, last being Jan. and am having severe constipation. Am on motility drugs, lots of benefibre, magnesium and flax, veggies etc.Taking senna but the only thing that brings me back to soft tummy and normal weight is castor oil, which I resort to when I have the time to stay home and go all day.
