Avatar f tn Got anabiotic's Amoxi-drop how long should it take to work for the coughing in on sounds she makes. Took my kitty to the vet after she ate my dogs pain pill and I had to induce vomiting under vet recommendation. Some of the fluids got in lungs and it caused walking pneumonia.

Avatar n tn I would take your dog to be checked by the vet. If it is his breathing which is congested, it is possible for dogs to develop pneumonia, and you wouldn't necessarily be able to tell if that was the case. If it's only his nose, then there has to be a reason, and it's best the vet checks him. I would do that before you start trying to treat him yourself.
973741 tn?1342342773 I love my pooch and hate to hear of this illness spreading around and they think it is going to get worse. They think it is bacterial spreading from dog to dog so the recommendation is no doggie day care, kennels or socializing with their fur pals right now. Hard to do but could save your dog. Dogs get sick very quickly and may develop fatal pneumonia from this. It's no joke. Thoughts? Are you worried?
Avatar m tn I've read many many many blogs about how dogs are reacting to Phenobarb treatment for seizures. It is so concerning and I am so confused what to do. For a few months after a lipoma removal surgery, our dog Ranger started to 'trip' while walking. Then a few days ago he had a seizure during the night and again about 9 hours later. We took him to the vet yesterday and were told they could try treating him for epilepsy, but it could also be a brain tumor causing the issue.
Avatar f tn t know yet, will be retested in Feb. I stopped tx after 8 months because I had pneumonia for 6 weeks and after that some kind of infection every month. Just could not take it any longer. Thought I'd bounce back right away and am really down and out that I still feel so bad.
Avatar f tn In looking at the drug interaction information, it seems that those who are taking the corticosteriods, are even more at risk for muscle rupture and more at risk for developing pneumonia. A chest x-ray a couple of days ago confirmed that I do NOT have pneumonia now, but I can still hear sounds in my lungs when I do deep breathing.
Avatar n tn One of my dogs had a bad immune system (she was the light of my life) and I did tons of research trying not to use antibiotics. Olive leaf was one of my miracle herbs. that and oil of oregano. I kept her going for 2 years on her regimin but she died in my arms in JUly heat wave, no rain, pneumonia did her in. I was told that would be her demise but I held it off for a few years. She was only 4.
Avatar m tn They ruled out kennel cough and thought maybe it was a cold turned pneumonia, so they prescribed antibiotics and anti-inflammatory- first for 10 days(5 for anti inflam), then again for 10 days (5 for anti inflam). She was better and stopped coughing during the last antibiotic treatment course, but its back again. The vet now thinks its an allergy. To me, that diagnosis sounds strange since she has been super healthy free of any other issues for 11 yrs.
Avatar n tn Buddy was diagnosed with pneumonia and has gone through a course of doggy antibiotics and 3 courses of human antibiotics. The right lung is full of fluid. He would get better, then be energetic and get worse. It was suggested that he may not have pneumonia but CHF. Is there anything to do to help him. The vet doesn't seem to have any suggestions. Would a diuretic help? He's starting to not eat now.
Avatar n tn 67 years old, now 75 has been diagonosed with COPD and gets chronic pneumonia. 43 now 53 has suffered a collapsed lung, chronic pneumonia, and fibers in his lungs. What I viewed as an isolated instances has got me to think differently. Home has carpet that is 28 years old. This carpet was installed during a time with the older two were smokers. The younger occupant moved in 13 years ago. The home has also had dogs, cat, birds. Outside of asbestos what causes fibers in the lungs?
Avatar n tn iam just geting over pneumonia and i have started getting joint pain.
17344032 tn?1455826300 6 months ago my18 year old standard yorkshire terrier was diagnosed by the vet to have Bronchitis (Pneumonia) and pancreatitis For these conditions the vet prescribed 1 10mg Veraflox daily for 3 months, 2 50mg vivitonin, and 2 5mgprednisolone steroid daily for the rest of his life. He also has the royal caine gastrointestinal dry dog food.
Avatar f tn ve brought back? Would you suggest .5 ml of amoxi drops for 10-14 days to hopefully prevent the pneumonia?
Avatar m tn Influenza viruses can cause a common cold or flu, leading a healthy individual to take a few days or a week off work. However, the flu can exacerbate existing health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease, and inflammatory disorders, leading to severe complications for individuals over 65 with a weakened immune system.
Avatar n tn Hi bibban12, The thing about pneumonia is it's just a broad term for lung inflammation, and the air sacs filling up with fluid, but it isn't a specific diagnosis of what caused the pneumonia.
Avatar f tn It would probably be best to take your dog back to the vet for chest X-Rays to make sure that he is not developing pneumonia. Especially since your dog's cough has evolved from a dry cough to a productive cough with colored phlegm. He may need an additional antibiotic, cough medication, and additional diagnostics such as a culture and sensitivity or a transtracheal wash.
Avatar m tn I have gotten my dog cold laser therapy for her allergies and auto immune disease. I've also seen it done on dogs for hip dysplasia and arthritis, epilepsy, other allergy dogs, and on dogs post surgery to speed up healing. On every other dog that I either witnessed personally or read the testimonies of (which were about 20 in all) it worked moderate to very well. In my dog, it did not work. She had 4 weeks of treatment. I felt the laser myself and it feels like nothing at all.
