Buddy was diagnosed with pneumonia and has gone through a course of doggy antibiotics and 3 courses of human antibiotics. The right lung is full of fluid. He would get better, then be energetic and get worse. It was suggested that he may not have pneumonia but CHF. Is there anything to do to help him. The vet doesn't seem to have any suggestions. Would a diuretic help? He's starting to not eat now.

He did test positive for pneumonia in March, and the second set of x-rays (after 10 days of treatment ) showed that the pneumonia was still present but improving. The thing about pneumonia is it's just a broad term for lung inflammation, and the air sacs filling up with fluid, but it isn't a specific diagnosis of what caused the pneumonia.
My eleven year old daughter suffers from chronic cough, chronic pneumonia. She has every test known to man ( I think) and a few surgeries, both exploratory and for sinus surgery. Despite being treated by a team of doctors, no one can pinpoint a reason for the continuing pneumoias. She has been tested and treated for reflux, asthma, sinusitis, immunology. She is becoming resistant to antibiotics and we are very frightened for her.

and a lack of air movement in my lower left lung. She diagnosed me with community acquired pneumonia. I was prescribed Robitussin with codeine to help me sleep, although all it really did was tire me slightly. After another week of feeling completely miserable I started to breath better, my nose dried out, and my cough produced less and less green mucus. Sleeping then was hard, but I was able to take my meds, settle down, sleep for about two hours, wake up again from coughing and repeat.
I was diagnosed with pneumonia today and sent home with antibiotics and put on bed rest for a week. I can't completely rest as Im on my own at the moment with my three other children. Im worried that this could effect my baby. Has anyone else had pneumonia during pregnancy?
My son is going to be 5 in August, your son has exactly what my son has.... it is pneumonia.....my son has severe allergies,he gets pneumonia every spring and fall,winter.... he always has pneumonia... u should really get him checkingd out for allergies, my son, gets the fevers,nasal drip in the throat which makes him gag,he phlems up very badly,u can tell in his eyes he has allergies,his cough is constant and diahrea comes and goes....too plz get him checked for it....
Bacterial or viral lung infection can precipitate asthma with wheezing in a person genetically predisposed to asthma. Treatment of the presumed asthma, aside from treatment of the infectious pneumonia, is appropriate. So, this could be asthma, superimposed on pneumonia.
