Percocet withdrawal back pain

Common Questions and Answers about Percocet withdrawal back pain

percocet

Avatar f tn It is possible that you will have withdrawal symptoms when you quit taking Percocet. Even if it is for short period of time that you take it. Our bodies and minds have long memories. I had been clean for about a year from taking Roxicodone, when I broke my leg and had to have surgery. I had to take pain pills for a little while. I was not taking Roxicodone, but something much milder.
Avatar f tn /day) but am still taking percocet once or twice a day for pain. I still need it for the pain. I have been having digestive problems so thats way I went off the long acting. Is my body going to get it's energy back and withdraw properly when I'm still taking percocet occassionally or am I just going to continue to feel like **** all the time going in and out of withdrawal????
Avatar f tn How is your pain right now from the injury? I can not believe they sent you home with percocet knowing your addiction to opiates?? You need to get off these quick before it spirals again. Ask your doc for a nonnarcotic pain medication like naxopren or something. Than get back on suboxone if that worked so well for you- I believe it saved my life personally! :) However, first off make sure you do this all throuhg a doctor and second off I would only suggest suboxone treatment for short term.
Avatar m tn Just make sure to not go back because every withdrawal is worse. So glad you have decided to quit. Good luck to you! Keep us posted because this forum is really nice and will help you with any questions or concerns.
Avatar f tn Hang in there and please post back. I live in constant pain also but live alone. I have tried to get my cat to take care of me with no luck ;) It sounds like you are alone a lot which I know can be very trying for me. It can be so hard to be alone, in pain and in my case awake while the world sleeps. Please remember you are not alone.
Avatar f tn I have been on all kinds of meds like neurontin, lyrica, etc. The only thing that relieves the pain is percocet. I take 6-8 10/325's a day. I called yesterday to get my refil and my doctor's office called back saying no script until Feb. 11 and then when I pick it up, she wants me to get a urine drug test. Didn't think I was addicted, but certainly a wake-up call. I am now down to only 24 pills and can't get a script for 8 days. Bleck. I started tapering yesterday.
Avatar m tn I was addicted to speed as a teen and quit that and then at about age 30 I fell into pain meds. Really any pain meds I could get my hands on. At this point I have been going to a pain clinic for a condition that is not really there to get the meds and then when I run out of those I an getting them off the street, I am up to 4 30mg tablets a day. When I found the 30mg on the street I lost controll even snorting them now instead of taking them.
1158557 tn?1262725929 Yes, I have experienced lower back pain with withdrawal from morphine. I do experience pain all over my body, however, this pain was different from what I had felt before and it would be relentless for weeks on end. It separated itself from how my normal pain was in many ways. Not to mention it started after I had reduced my daily morphine dosage. Mine also bothered me in my tailbone and then worked itself up my back. Sitting was very uncomfortable at times during these periods.
Avatar m tn I'm going through the same thing right now, I took my last Oxy 5hrs ago and I have been on 120-160mg oxycodne plus 40mg oxycontin for the last 9yrs. I hear that tapering off is the best way, but as a former addict to coke i see it as i could never just do alittle coke so I don't see how I could do alittle oxy, but thats just me and i'm gonna do it cold turkey.
Avatar m tn what is the difference betweed norco and percocet. please include withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar n tn I have been reading many of the posts here and feeling so scared about the dreadful withdrawal and suffering that goes on. I have a chronic pain condition and have been taking percocet for 1.5 years, I know I already have a dependency as I feel the withdrawal symptoms when I do not take it. I have just started lyrica and hope that it decreases my pain to the point that I can get off the percocet entirely.
Avatar f tn The one downside of this was each time I done this I had to work back up on the new med to a level that worked acceptably so I was in pain many times for a couple weeks. Though for me going back and forth from the oxycodone to the duragesic patch helped immensly until this last round with the oxy which made me extremely ill for some reason. This metabolism of medications and switching from one drug family to another may help others or may not. It just really worked for me.
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome to the forum. You said you were taking just 2 or 3 pills a day, yet your prescription is for 8 pills a day; 2 pills, 4 times a day. Have you been able to get by on just the 2 or 3? If so, that's great and you shouldn't have withdrawal for very long at all. I started my pain medication journey with Ultram. At first, I just took 1 a day, because of pain in the morning. My joints were so stiff and painful in the morning that I just couldn't move.
Avatar f tn Yes. The clonidine is a med for hypertension and is used quite often for opiate withdrawal with excellent results. It's not to be taken with Percocet per se'. Percocet is,of course, a prn med so it is just not often that those two would be used together. I know you'd like the doctor to help you. Have you been completely honest about the amount of Percocet you take per day? Have you told him/her you're addicted?
Avatar f tn t sit still, i have to shake back and forth, heart palpations, just plain old miserable, so i take just 1 percocet and in 30 min, i fall back to sleep, thank God. 2) I am going to have surgery and i am scared that i will NOT have pain relief, i currently take 3 percocets at a time because i built up such a tolerance. What to do? I have battled opiates for years now.....
Avatar f tn I took 2-4 tramadol 50mg a day and 1-2 5/325 percocet at night. Less back pain caused me to dial back on the pills til I am at 1 of each a day. Last week I did not take tramadol at all and began to feel achy all over and tired. I took the pill. Yesterday, I took no tramadol again and had all the symptoms I see described here--restless all over, unable to sleep, achy, etc. I took a tramadol this morning and the symptoms went away. My question: what is best here? Stop both of them?
Avatar f tn My doctor a year later completely took me off the Tramadol and replaced it with Morphine ER with Percocet for break through pain and I had no withdrawal symptoms from stopping the Tramadol at all!!! By the way, when I stopped the Tramadol completely, I was taking the same amount as you per day. The amount of Fentanyl you are on is stronger than the starting dose of Morphine that I was on when I stopped taking Tramadol.
Avatar m tn He's been vomiting a lot. Very restless and pain in his back and arms. Eating a little. So far it's going better than I expected.
Avatar m tn I'm I having withdrawl or not I stopped taking percocet 40 hrs ago and lying in bed tonight my hands and shoulders were aching so bad I was tossing and turning I got up and took 2 10's Percocet and 1 10 Oxycontin and now I'll spend the rest of the night in my recliner , The question is, is my pain a reaction to stopping the Percocet . I've gone through this time and time again only to have the pain over whelm me .
Avatar m tn Hello, I have had chronic back pain for over 10 years. Have taken full agonist opiates ( Pecocet ) nothing injected or snorted. I decided to get off the med and go to a Suboxone program. I went to two different ones and they both not only judged me and labeled me, but also lied to me. I ask if they would put me on Subutex which cost less and basically is the same thing. The doctor responded ,"we don't use that here.
Avatar n tn It is common to wake up with nausea during opiate withdrawal. However, you say you want to get off of percocet too. I'm assuming that you are still taking percocet, are you taking through a doctor as prescriped or off the streets, big difference. And how many are you taking a day??? I know when i was addicted to hydro's and percs my withdrawal would start about 4-6 hours after my last dosage.
Avatar f tn I was never supposed to stop the ms contin since it was the only thing that helped me deal w/my back pain. The percocet helped w/the knee, joint and hand pain I have as a result of arthritis but does nothing for my back. I do not have any income and have to save the little money I do have to live on until I find another job. My career was a 12 year one and I'm in my 40's so I'm finding it hard to find another job. I can't afford to see a Dr.
Avatar f tn Both are so hard on the body and mind, it would be easy to just blame it on withdrawal. Maybe if you look at it as recovering from surgery vs. withdrawal from the pain stuff you can psych yourself out, know what I mean? How long is the recovery from your procedure suppose to be? Try to take it easy and be easy on yourself and just let yourself heal. I know you will be fine and you can do it without too much of a tough time. Think about what you were able to get through already.
