Avatar n tn I hope you continue to do well on the lyrica and get ample pain relief from the nerve pain you have. I also deal with a lot of nerve pain and I know that it can be very painful and difficult to tolerate at times. Keep in touch and if you have any more questions, I will be more than happy to try to help!
Avatar n tn Was given a script for a low dose of percocet after surgery. Don't really like it. Switched to Tylenol, but can't take that for long. So are there any other pain remedies?
706250 tn?1232453817 I recently was dx with MS and have chronic pain in back, neck, down both legs and in my head, which is where they dx my MS, I have a large mass in my brain tissue and only difference is my spinal fluid is clear.
Avatar f tn I would suggest you get back into your family doctor and get a copy of the report (then you can look at the health pages on the top right and learn more about what you are dealing with and post questions here) and ask him for something for the pain. I had awful pain with mine and my doctor gave me percocet. You can try Motrin but I don't know if it will be enough to help. Good luck with everything and keep us posted.
11214965 tn?1416269155 Erika, Percocet is a good medication for short term pain -- recovery from surgery, broken bone, anything that lasts for 3-6 months. The fentanyl patch is meant for people who have chronic pain and are tolerant to opioids. When the percocet stops working and you need multiple dose escalations, your doctor may suggest changing to a long-active / extended release opioid analgesic, like Duragesic.
Avatar m tn It certainly sounds to me that you may benefit from a physician that specializes in the treatment and control of chronic pain. A few Percocet do not seem potent enough for you. You may require something that is longer acting and than use to Percocet for break through pain. You have apparently tried all the usual and customary treatments. It may be time to ask about a long acting opiate. A TENS Unit caused me more pain too. I couldn't even stand the electrical impulses on my skin.
1735730 tn?1348952972 The doctor has given me percocet and yesterday changed it to norco 10/325 with zanaflex for muscle relaxation. The thing that makes so bad I was incarasated for one year and the facility did not recognize the problem and denied the medical. It could have been prevented with a simple arthscropy surgery but the state is to cheap to perform such. Now I have to have this done and it is so much worse than it could have been and should have been.
Avatar f tn New here and after looking around decided I might try to reach out for some advice. Chronic pain is the hardest thing to get someone to understand unless of course they have been through it. Background: Began with a spine issue, assorted lower back pain and such years ago. I saw my gp, had an MRi turned out to have minor bulges, arthirtis and a bunch of other small things I can't remember.
Avatar f tn My dr recently changed my pain medication for my lower back pain from percocet to morphine b/c he wanted me taking less tylenol, as it causes liver damage. I do NOT feel pain relief from the morphine. I'm taking twice what he prescribed me just to feel relief. I was NOT expecting this!!!
Avatar f tn I was addicted to Percocet for about 6 months due to chronic pelvic pain and endometriosis. Needless to say it overcame me. I am 23 years old with a militiary background (until the pelvic pain and endometriosis got me kicked out) and I have a beautiful daughter and an amazing Army husband. I just wanted to let everyone know that there IS help out there.
864831 tn?1243618672 I am currently on Percocet for pain relief (I take 6 a day) but I have been switched recently to MS Contin . I am doubtful. I should take one every 12 hours . I'm afraid that if I take one and it doesn't help that I can't take anything else for another 12 hours. I would like to know if anyone else is taking this. Does it work ?
1527950 tn?1291828884 I have been on oxy 40mg and percocet 10-325 for about a year now, well my stomach was not having it and I couldnt stop throwing up, so Dr.put me on 50 mcg little relief but have only had it on for 13 hrs. is this thing gonna help me soon?
Avatar f tn Im new to the forum so if I'm posting this in the wrong section I apologize. I am 26 years old and I am going in for my second knee surgery due to multiple patella dislocations. My first surgery was similar to a lateral release. Now my surgeon is going to try something more extensive. My question is after my first surgery I was given hydrocodone 10mg/325, which didn't do a whole lot.
731137 tn?1231482514 You cant just get them you need to see your doctor and it's up to them if they feel that your pain is worth being on them, they are for people who have long term chronic pain....
Avatar f tn My Dr told me to take the percocet for breakthrough pain and I am still taking Lyrica 150mg three times a day. I dont think the Lyrica is helping at all, unfortunetly the only thing that seems to help in anyway are the pain killers. But I have to say this is the best I have felt in a long time. I am so glad I decided to see this Dr and that he tried to work with me/didn't give up on me! It is so nice to walk around without that shocking pain in my chest everytime I breath.
Avatar n tn I have a couple questions concerning possibly having a tummy tuck done. I have 3 children and we are considering a fourth in the next year and a half. With each pregnancy, my abdomen has become more stretched and I'm left with an "overhang" or an "apron" of tissue no matter how many toning exercises I do.
656111 tn?1273820739 By the time you are able to take the second pain pill for the day your pain is out of control and a vicious cycle continues. One should not have to wait until their pain so severe to tak a pain reliever. You need even control. It take more pain medication to ease your pain when it is high and there are not as effective when you have to go through the peaks and valleys. So possibly if you had double the number of percocet you could take it four times a day.
477659 tn?1207939070 Hi everyone this is my first post here, kinda nervous. Thing is I found this community while looking up information about my fentynal patch. I just got the script and don't think its working. I had lumbar spinal fussion a week ago and the surgeon put me on 25mcg at discharge from the hospital. This was only done because of the reaction from me when he said he was sending me home on percocet. See I have suffered from pain for so long that I have taken alot of narcs.
Avatar n tn I was on MMTP for very many years. About 3 years ago I injured 5 of my discs(they are all herniated) My Dr also gave me percocet and while it did releive the pain I did not get High from it. Mind you, I wasn't taking them as prescribed very often. When I awoke for instance, I needed 3 just to get up and into the shower before work. Then I'd take my meth and then made it to work. I also went to my counselor and requested an increase.
Avatar m tn Because I have so many diff meds I decided to try some things on my own to see what works well FOR ME. I took a percocet 10/325 along with 10mgs of OXYIR and I got pain relief for about 3 hours. I normally take darvacet for break through pain which is useless to me, it never did any good so I did not even attempt to take any of that. For my break through pain, I took another 10mgs of OXYIR. My question is, should I tell my doctor what I tried? OR will he think I am a bad person?
Avatar m tn today is day 22 off of Percocet, I am about to go to the doctor, I have no desire to get anything narcotic for my pain(herniated discs w/ nerve impingement)........can anyone recommend any non-narcotic/non-habit forming pain medication? I do not want to go through w/d's again......I learned first-hand that taking percocet, as directed for over a year(7.5/325 every 4 hours)can still get you addicted even if you're not abusing it .
Avatar f tn I have had two cortizone shots now and no relief at all, i was taking percocet which worked really well until I became allergic to it. I tried vicodin and it didn't help also morphine helped but it made me a zombie. So i"m just wondering is there anything else I could try. My pain doctor said i'll need surgery theres nothing else he can do.
