1628149 tn?1299785675 you can call the manufacturers of the HCV drugs to see if you’ll qualify for patient assistance; they often provide the drugs free of charge for those that are uninsured. However, they don’t cover doctor’s care, labs, procedure costs, etc.
Avatar m tn Pegassist (Roche Pegasys system): 1-877-734-2797 Commitment to Care (Schering- Plough PEG-Intron system): 1-800-521-7157 The assistance is income rather than asset based; give them a call and see if they can provide help. They will probably want copies of last year’s IRS 1040 forms, along with verification of copay.

Avatar m tn Insurance: The patient must be uninsured or rendered uninsured by payer denial. GATCF does not provide free medicine to patients who have insurance coverage, regardless of the co-pay amount. Financial: The patient must have an annual household adjusted gross income (AGI) of less than $100,000.00 (line 37 on tax return). Special consideration of financial criteria can be made for patients who are recently unemployed. Medical: The patient must meet medical criteria.

1057395 tn?1254367428 My insurance had a $40 copay per month for both meds. Not too bad. Of course if you are denied there are patient assistance programs that likely could pay for the meds. All they really ask for is how much you make (which is not nearly as low as you would think!) and a copy of the denial letter. Has your doctor done a biopsy yet? do you know if you have advanced liver damage and need to do treatment?
Avatar n tn 1-877-734-2797 Depending on last years income, they night be able to help. This is their patient assistance program, and they are there to help uninsured and underinsured. If they accept you, they will provide assistance on both the riba as well as the interferon. You will treat for six months with genotype 2; I managed quite well for the first year of treatment; it wasn’t until later the next year I got hammered a little bit.

Avatar m tn Hoffman-LaRoche, the maker of Pegasys, and Schering-Plough, the maker of PEG-Intron, each have a patient assistance program for people having problems getting the drug. The number to call is (800) 443-6676 for Pegasys and (800) 521-7157 for PEG-Intron. http://www.atdn.org/simple/pifn.
Avatar f tn Yup, the meds are relatively pricey. The phone numbers listed are patient assistance programs sponsored by the manufacturers. They are income based as opposed to asset based; and will probably ask for last years federal tax forms to confirm income. They are actually fairly generous; they don’t require a patient to be indigent to qualify for help. Ask the doctor for Rx information, and then give them a call to see where you fall financially.
