pancreatitis

Avatar f tn Sounds much like my situation I have all the test and everything looks good was told I have visceral sensativity (in other words in is all in my head) Just be careful not to go to too many different doctors someone needs to keep track of how much radiation you are exposed to like in CT scans. You could wind up making yourself sick trying to find the answer. My problem is going on for six months.
Avatar n tn Canine Rabies – a specific type of Rabies that is spread among dogs, foxes, coyotes, wolves, and other canines – is still endemic (meaning it is regularly found) in parts of Africa, Asia, and Central and South America. In these regions, there are significant challenges to reducing Rabies in canines such as low vaccination rates in dogs, limited and costly veterinary services, lack of public awareness, and uncontrolled dog populations.
Avatar n tn My teeth have begun to chip; in the last 4 weeks, I have had 3 teeth chip and one molar broke. What is going on? I am 52; is it age or am I deficient in some vitamin/mineral?
Avatar m tn ploryi blood test/liver/pancrease panel and possibly a endoscope to find out what is going on in your stomach. A gi specialist would probably be best. If this is truly pancreatitis you would need to stop drinking to let the pancrease heal before permament damage is done...(normally) BUT i'm not a doctor.. a visit with a gi specialist would be the way to go..
Avatar f tn •Upper abdominal pain that radiates into the back. It may be aggravated by eating, especially foods high in fat. •Swollen and tender abdomen •Nausea and vomiting •Fever •Increased heart rate How Is Pancreatitis Diagnosed? To diagnose acute pancreatitis, doctors measure levels in the blood of two digestive enzymes, amylase and lipase. High levels of these two enzymes strongly suggest acute pancreatitis.
Avatar m tn One of my incisors, and both of my canines of my upper jaw are slightly protruding out in front of all the other teeth (well, the canines are protruding more). I can't really find a picture to explain it, but I hope you get it. This was because when I was a kid and my milk canines and one of my milk incisors didn't fall out on time, and my permanent teeth grew over them until they broke. My parents never bothered to get them fixed.
Avatar f tn t see the protection angle, since a cat can bite just as fiercely with the teeth you are proposing to leave in his mouth, even if the canines were pulled. Does the cat bite because he is being mishandled, or because he was once feral and now has that deferred aggression thing feral cats sometimes have? We have one like that, and just don't pat him much, because we don't feel he's trustworthy.
936335 tn?1246412231 Your symptoms could be SO many things including microscopic sludge/stones in the common bile duct, gallbladder problems, Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction, Small Bowel Bacterial Overgrowth, acute pancreatitis, chronic pancreatitis, autoimmune pancreatitis, mininal change chronic pancreatitis, etc., etc., etc. Pancreatic and ductal pain is among the most horrendous pain there is. If you cannot manage your pain, talk to your primary care physician and ask for some medication!
Avatar m tn t be coming from the phenobarbital. The usual side effects in canines from phenobarbital use are lethargy, polydipsia (increased thirst), polyuria (increased urination), polyphagia (increased appetite), anxiety and weight gain. From the symptoms I think your vet is probably right on the money with the diagnosis of a mass in the brain, but I doubt that the tremors signify pain because you said they are of short duration.
Avatar m tn Hi Kelley. I'm so sorry to hear about your little boxer. Pancreatitis is a terrible disease for dogs (and people) to endure. If your vet hasn't yet performed an ultrasound, that will be the next step. They'll need to check to see how swollen the pancreas is, if there is something like a tumor or pseudo-cyst, or even a birth defect causing the trouble. It's even possible there is something blocking the pancreatitic or common bile duct at the root of the problem.
Avatar f tn Fluid therapy, regular blood work (sometimes several times a day), pain meds or a patch for pain and antibiotics are often used. This is a very painful condition. In pancreatitis, nutrients the dog needs are passed out in the feces, thus probably the reason for the weight loss (and that is quite a bit). Has he been checked for diabetes?
Avatar n tn Have you been tested for Pancreatitis? I am having the same symptoms as you. Just on my right side. The pressure is unreal. It hurts at times to breath. On 10/14/08 I was diagnosed with Pancreatitis. I sleep on my right side as well. But the pain and pressure is to much I can't sleep. I stay so sick at my stomach and just to eat is a job. Best of luck to you..
Avatar f tn m afraid of the cosmetic look with an implant right in the front, but worried about crowning the canines all together in the bridge, too. Especially if a repair on the bridge was needed or the canines had a problem. I appreciate the information.
Avatar f tn With repeated bouts of acute pancreatitis, damage to the pancreas can occur and lead to chronic pancreatitis. Scar tissue may form in the pancreas, causing loss of function. A poorly functioning pancreas can cause digestion problems and diabetes.
Avatar m tn A herniated disc can cause pressure symptoms at levels below the herniation. It cannot cause symptoms higher up. The burning pain that you mention looks more like pain of herpes zoster. Usually the pain starts prior to the appearance of the rash. The other possibility is pancreatitis. Stomach ulcers and some kidney stones too can cause pain in the thoraco-lumbar area. You can discuss these possibilities with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining.
Avatar m tn My cat was DX w pancreatitius & met all symptoms for a few weeks / the meds worked but it got bad. Then a big turn happened. He started eating & now won't stop! His constant meowing is driving me crazy.he lost weight whwhen really sick. He is still underweight but why does he demand food 24/7? I'm so stressed out I can't think straight. Upset too if his DX was wrong we spent so much $$ on labs/meds. Now I'm not sure/don't think he has it! Help.
Avatar n tn Gallbladder dysfunction can result in pancreatitis. Your doc will probably suggest trying to clear up the pancreatitis as much as possible if possible, and then undertake GB surgery. Make sure that when the surgery is done, that the common bile duct is swept for sludge or stones.
1727909 tn?1314845210 Ive lost 5 pounds. This am I weighed myself, naked, 129.4, Just now, Im 128.6??? Im eating like a clydesdale. I am going to the bathroom alot, loose stools. I had my gallbladder out in Dec, due to pancreatitis. Have a colonscopy in a month, hope there's nothing else going on. Everyone is different. BUT, the weight issue is a non issue. If you need to have the Gallbladder out, do so, otherwise, you will become very ill and end up in the hospital. Best Wishes!
Avatar f tn Last year was diagnosed with pancreatitis. Am again suffering from similiar symptoms. Hospital told me not to eat till I saw family doctor. He told me not to eat for 3 days, drink water only. Symptoms got better starting eating carbs after that. 8months later and similiar symptoms, fatigue, bloating. Shall I assume the liquid diet for a few days? Not sure what the doctor or hospital will do other than tell me that and don't want to waste 12 hours in the ER again, let alone the cost.
1807187 tn?1316861276 s possible the diagnosis could be pancreatitis, but you should ask your doctor for an exact diagnosis and also ask what diet you should be following for the condition you have. In general, most docs tell patients who have acute pancreatitis to follow a liquid diet for a period of time then slowly transition to a soft diet that is very low in fat. That can be followed up by changing back to a 'regular' low fat diet.
Avatar f tn You may have chronic pancreatitis. Find a biliary specialist soon. You should get testing to determine if you have this or not. If you do they will advise you what to do to help.
Avatar n tn I have been having discomfort in my stomach area, especially the right side, and back ache that moves up and down, since January. I have had ultra sound, upper GI, Endoscopy, CT scan, MRI, MRCP. Hida Scan, back xrays, and all the lab work, that includes blood test for pancreas and liver. They did find two side branch lesions about 1 cm each in the pancreas. The radiologist and my pancreatic specialist said they need to be monitored and no real concern at this time.
Avatar n tn t had another painful attack. However, I still seem to have soreness on my left side, but not in the same location as the pancreatitis pain. My stomach is also still bloated. My attack was 5 days ago. My question is; is it normal to have some residual soreness after acute pancreatitis? If so, how long will should the soreness last?
